How do I show my family them I love and support them, without (myself) being ok with their bad choices and without enabling their bad choices?
LONG STORY, I'm a father of four, I was raised LDS and I have always had a connection with GOD. I would say I have a strong testimony in the basics principals of the gospel but I do struggle with the people of the wards we have lived in and in the way the church has been ran locally. I follow the teachings of the church, as well as most, but I do have "a live and let live" attitude on most things in life.
That being said I have raised my family with Mormon values and rules such as, love your neighbor, serving others brings true happiness, attend church, avoid buying things on Sunday, obey the word of wisdom, a testimony is not given it is earned, if you have questions read and ponder the scriptures, pray, if you have questions and ask with true intent for GOD to help you find answers. All of which I have personal experiences with and the lessons I have learned from doing these things have helped me greatly throughout my life.
At the same time, I'm also a left-leaning "hippie" that also raised my family to love and respect all people, to accept all ways of life, to live and live, and to seek out truth where ever it might be. I have done this because this too has worked out well for me.
Fast forward 24 years and my kids are all growing up. My oldest son left for school and has since returned because of bad decisions and lifestyle choices. He also suffers from extreme anxiety that contributes to his issues. He has now fully fallen away from what I thought I taught him.
I have always taught him that he will need to find his own testimony and if someday he decides the church wasn't for him that's ok. I will love him no matter what. AKA live and let live. But now he has turned into what I call an "anti" also known as ex Mormon who only seeks out the bad parts, who constantly is posting about the scandals and is very bitter about how he was treated in the church. He is the type of person you are afraid to mention anything spiritual around because he will get offended. This is not how I raised him and it makes mad and sad every time I have to deal with it. I have talked to him about his experiences with the church and what he tells me wouldn't even come close to shaking my faith. I have a hard time empathizing with him and have a harder time tolerating his choices. How can I show him love him without saying x bad t

I drew a trend line through church growth rate statistics starting at 1990, when the internet began making true church history and anonymous discussion more prevalent. The trend line lands at the 0% line just before 2030. We are one decade away from seeing Mormonism officially begin shrinking.
The following is a prophecy. If it doesn't come to pass, it's because you all weren't worthy enough to receive it.
Within the next decade, the church will stop reporting membership statistics altogether. The missionary program will be shut down, and all efforts will be focused on retention of current members. During the first year of unreported negative growth, a wave of doomsday prepper fever fueled by somber doom-and-gloom conference talks will see a number of Mormons moving to Missouri, building underground bunkers, and stockpiling food and guns. The big bluff of Mormonism is going to be called during the 2030's or 2040's as members wait with bated breath for Jesus to burn the wicked and sanctify the earth. Mormons will become increasingly insular and fearful, and the "sifting" of doubters through excommunication and shunning will be rampant. Then Jesus will appear suddenly on August 17th, 2056 with the infinity gauntlet and "snap" every living human, leaving dogs in charge of earth because they've earned his trust.
