My husband is finally watching season 5 and upon discovering Fen is a werewolf he told me βso can we call her FENrir Greybackβ and I died.
Have always been very happy with Seren. My belief was that I was using the best add on. I thought it was as it was such an upgrade to Leia and The Crew.
But recently, especially after the latest Shield upgrade, I've been having a few issues. So I got curious when I kept hearing the rave reviews about Fen.
So I tried it, and the easiest way to describe my experience coming from Seren (which has been damn good) is that Fen in every department without exception varies from being much, much better to absolutely obliterating Seren. Yes, in every department.
Searches, scraping, performance, number of links etc is all miles better. Everything happens either instantly, or within a few seconds max. It's much more user-friendly and smarter with its "long press" options and offers extra features and shortcuts over Seren which I've found invaluable.
Bear in mind I'm using the current Shield Pro and get 800 Mbps down piped into my box, and use PM--mentioning all this in case that has any significant effect to things.
Fen is now my main driver, and imo at least 3x better than Seren in all departments (just my opinion remember). I can't believe how good it is or that I haven't tried it before.
Only downside is talk of the developer retiring in the near future.
If you haven't tried it and are curious I highly recommend you give it a whirl. I'll bet you stick with it as your daily driver.
I used the following link to install as it mentions where to add your debrid account etc (slightly different to Seren) but use whatever you want.
Also you no longer need to download the repository and can just link to it as normal so the address will wrong in the article to link to it directly.
Sadly, FEN is officially no more per the author. Itβs his decision and certainly His to make. All the best to him down the road. Hopefully those with it currently installed will work for awhile, at least, until interconnected systems change.
Now β for my challenge, to find another add-on, as fast, that supports scrobble with widgets to continue watching paused tv episodes and movies between different STBs, different rooms as easily as it was on FEN.
UPDATE: for those not aware, the author has stated they will continue builds and support, for nowβ¦. Letβs hope they continue as itβs still the preferred add-on for many.
I took a slow but pretty standard approach to leveling. A mix of questing while gathering and crafting as I went. The occasional town board or two.
I feel like this is about as close as to the "intended" leveling experience as possible (i'm currently only lvl 53) but doing it that way it seemed I spent an unusually long amount of time in Weaver's fen and man was that area a grind. A pain to traverse and gloomy.
Breath of fresh air to finally reach ebonscale and edengrove and get some color back in my life. I wish they brought some of that to the earlier zones.
Do y'all have any zones that you don't vibe with?
Also, are you even meant to go to cutlass keys? I kind of forgot it was a zone until I was leveled way past it.
Preface / Introduction
If you're like me, you may have googled x addon vs x addon to try and glean which Kodi addon will work best for you. If you did, you probably found the same answers, we just gotta try them all and see what you like most. I can't tell you which add-on will fit your needs best, because they all have different features, so unfortunately I have to give the same advice, you need to do your research, and try them all out to see what will work best for you. I like having a little objective data to go with my subjective testing so I decided while I'm here trying all these add-ons anyways that I can try gathering some numbers.
Testing Procedure Information
I'm testing the Fen, Kaito*, Oath, Seren, The Crew, and Venom add-ons on Kodi 19.3 x64 (Windows 10) on a Ryzen 5800H/RTX 3070/32GB RAM/980 EVO NVME Laptop. I would have preferred to test on a Linux/Android based system since most people use these for Kodi but I can't for the life of me find my shield power cable.. On the other hand at least we should not see any hardware bottlenecks.
*Kaito fits a more niche use case, anime, but I decided to include it since I have it installed anyways.
What am I testing for? I'm going to use each addon with realdebrid to search for the neon evangelion genesis movie, and wheel of time. I will record how long it takes and the number of items scraped.
I'm using realdebrid cause it's popular, and it's cheap. Alldebrid would have been my other choice but realdebrid has better cached torrent retention, and more cached torrents. Alldebrid on the other hand is slightly cheaper and supports more hosters so don't write it off, I just didn't want to bother with having two debrid accounts.
As for my movie choice, I tried to pick something recent, popular enough to have a decent amount of results, but niche enough to be not too easy. Plus I wanted to watch this movie. I picked a more popular choice for tv series but stuck to something recent as well.
All add-ons were a fresh install on a fresh install of Kodi. Everything is up to date with latest versions as of writing.
Results
First results row will be for neon evangelion gensis 3+1 thrice upon a time. Second results row will be for the wheel of time episode 1. I will list scraping time, number of total results, and then the number of the highest resolution ones.

2.9s - 14 results, 13x 1080p torrents.
3.2s - 70 results, 5x 1080p torrents.
*Bugged and didn't work at default settings.

Last update for FEN says the developer is considering walking away from the project. FEN is the only addon I use and wondered if there is anything better? For people using FEN, if support stops what will be your alternative or could someone else take over? Also, does anyone know how the Gaia beta is going?

Checked posts on here someone recommended re-authorizing trakt which I did show now plays but not buffering out so keeps freezing and buffering. Help please.

When I select a show in the "Progress" page, it autoplays 4K and has a strange pink/green hue.
So, I stop the show, select context menu "options", then "Rescrape and select source".
The populated results don't include any 4K files, despite over 50 being found in the pop-up window during the search. I can't get them to show up. I ignore filters. Turn them off. 4K results are enabled.
What gives?
So this is a pretty straightforward question.what is the advantage of using tmdb helper with their respective video links and widgets? And on the opposite side using the video add on directly with widgets in a new kodi setup?
With put a intermediary like tmdb helper when you can configure widgets directly with a video Addon like den/Seren/venom

For the last couple of days when I wake the Shield into Kodi there's lots of error pop ups for Fen and Seren. They go by quickly but the Fen errors mention connection pool host api.trakt.tv, although all Trakt lists load and content gets marked as watched by Trakt including Seren scrobbling. It happens on Maven Kodi install too. I'm not sure if it's related but my broadband cut out a week ago while watching a movie and was resolved a couple of days later with no drop outs since. I've tried wiping Fen and Seren settings so far but the issue is still happens.

I've been thinking about getting this jacket for over a year now.
I live in Beijing which can get quite cold during the winter (last year we had a few days in the -13 Celsius or 8/9 F) usually around -5 Celsius give or take.
It's also very windy which I think makes it worse because the wind hurts hahaha! BUT it hardly ever snows.
This jacket has been available on the website for the longest time and it's on "sale" for 2680 RMB (around 420 USD tax included), the original price was 3780 RMB. I tried to find the color name but I failed the Chinese reads as ε‘ε Άθ² (Khaki) and the only khaki I found on Lulufanatics it's Desert Khaki but no Snow Warrior under that color name.
Anyway... I want to know if this jacket it's worth 420 USD hahaha
I currently have a down jacket from Hollister that I got about 2 years ago but it looks kind of "sporty" so I am looking for something that could also potentially looks less sporty and possibly casual?
