Expeditionary Force is currently my favorite sci fi series. It is a military sci fi story about humans in the near future that become space pirates. They are aided by a god like artificial intelligence that exist in this space time in the form of a cylinder shaped like a shiny beer can named Skippy. Itβs got the perfect balance of humor and high stakes action that is really hard to find. I genuinely laugh my ass off. I would suggest listening to it because RC Bray the guy that performs it, is really good.

I am almost done listening through first wayward galaxy and at some point almost in the end of the book one of the characters needs to say banana with a certain inflextion - of course it sound EXACTLY like skippy saying "monkeys love banana"
