A list of puns related to "Exhaust Manifold"
Have an evap leak P1494. Local shop called and said exhaust manifold/purge solenoid need to be replaced. Stated they would call with a quote tomorrow. Whatβs a reasonable price for this??
Will a rb20 exhaust manifold and downpipe fit on a rb25 neo? Thxs for any responses ;)
So I recently purchased a 2007 4Runner Sport Edition (with the V8) and have been thinking about some upgrades. Now as I am 18 I do not have the means of actually affording these upgrades as of right now. But I want to get a feel of as to I need in order to make these changes happen. So below are the questions I have, and any answers and recommendations are deeply appreciated.
What is the in depth process for having to get the suspension swapped. My 4Runner had the XREAS system, which I'm aware will most likely have to to be taken out. But for upgrading the shocks, will I have to upgrade other things like the control arms, axles, or anything of the sort?
As I apply power, I hear a ticking from the front which I believe is the cracked exhaust manifold. I also heard Thorley headers are a good replacement for the OEM exhaust manifolds. Now what exactly would the process be to get those installed. What would have to be torn out, and what should I watch out for?
What is the ideal roof basket that would mount to the stock rack? I've been wanting something sizeable to hold some additional luggage and stuff. Anything of recommendation?
And if anyone would happen to know where I can go to get these installed, it would be dope. I'm in the New Jersey area, so whatever details y'all could give me, would be awesome. I just wanna run this truck for 5-7 years. And I wanna make it a great one. Thanks in advance to those who help out!
I have a Ralliart that I am putting an Evo turbo on (stock turbo). My manifold cracked in three different places, so I figured that I might as well do the upgrade since I need to have it apart anyway.
I am wondering if anyone has any experience with either the MXP manifold from Lancershop or the MAP investment cast stainless manifold? I am leaning toward the MAP manifold for the durability, and the black ceramic coat looks amazing, but the MXP is a good price.
Any suggestions?
Edit: removed the engine shroud and took another look. I believe the exhaust manifold is on the front here, under a heat shield. Does that look right? https://postimg.cc/21vhmsGM/8f3e5c1f

I am not totally sure where the exhaust manifold is on this engine so I was hoping someone could point it out and also wanted to know if you all think an exhaust leak is the true problem

The problem: when accelerating from a stop (but not once coasting) I hear a low pitched popcorn sound from in front of me. Sometimes audible when coming to a stop. It doesn't happen when idling, when starting the car, or once I am coasting over 50km/h (31mph).
Also of note I live in a cold climate and the weather lately has been sub -15c (sub 5Β°F)
Is this likely an exhaust leak and, again, could you point out the exhaust manifold?
Thanks
Took my truck into the dealer to confirm the exhaust manifold bolts were source of the ticking. He said they wouldn't be covered under powertrain 5/60.
I didn't believe him so I just kinda said "huh, ok" and left it at that. Went home and looked at warranty book and it clearly says exhaust manifold is covered under the 5/60 but doesn't explicitly mention bolts.
Got online to chat with FCA and they quickly confirmed the bolts were not covered under the 5/60. I'm honestly a little flummoxed here. Is this not just hardware that attaches a covered part?
If my engine shit the bed, would they replace it under warranty but charge me for the bolts to mount it?
Anyone have any experience with this? Honest experience, don't lie please. I have MaxCare so it is getting taken care of at the dealer under warranty, but I don't like being screwed with and $100 is still $100.
That being said, if I'm wrong and they aren't covered, I'll gladly stfu.
My GSR has a super loud exhaust leak causing a ticking noise from the headers. The previous owner for some reason welded my exhaust to be one piece from exhaust manifold to exhaust tip so im left with no choice but to replace the whole thing. The reason im asking is because Im not in the price range for a full GSR exhaust right now ):
I got a 323ci, turbo is mounted on the bottom, I have to modify one of the engine mounts to fit a filter and piping. The Intake will end up on top where the washer fluid reservoir used to sit, however, when I do all the piping, the pipes will be very close to the exhaust manifold. Im guessing the taken in air will be very hot when that is the case.
What can I do to make the air cooler? Which piping should I use? Will aluminum piping be the best? Should I wrap it in high heat aluminum tape?
Any suggestions appreciated:)
Does anyone know whether the CAT on a 2006 Corolla is part of the exhaust manifold?
Check engine light came on; pulled a P0420 code. New mechanic says it'd be over a $1000 CAD to replace the cat, but suggested a welding solution that would be closer to $300-$450 CAD. Anyone know what he's getting at?
Edit: Thanks very much for the insight everyone, this really helped.
