A list of puns related to "Evf"
Sorting through all the m11 articles/ videos, no one is mentioning the new EVF.
Anybody have more info it?
Anyone else received an otherwise flawless A1 but for a spec of dust in the EVF? Did you live with it or returned/serviced it?
So there are a few threads like this in the past, but EVF technology has been advancing at lightning speed over the last few years so I'd love to hear some more recent input. What kind of photography do you use your SLRs/MILCs for, and do you prefer the VF for that use-case? If you switched between systems, was there anything novel about the change that affected the way you shoot or compose? I've heard a number of different things from "there's zero difference" to "its a huge change", so as a DSLR user at the moment I'd love to hear from those with experience across different systems.
Iβm seeing lots of videos on the m11 but as an m10-r user Iβm not really that inclined to upgrade, I am interested in the new visoflex but am not seeing any info about it really. Does anyone know when it will be available, the specs or price yet?
I recently added an Elmarit 21mm to my lens collection (LOVE this lens btw). So for the first time since I got my M-P (240) I am using an external viewfinder, and the EVF port that was previously plugged with a thumbs-up is now sitting there wide open. I did a little searching around and couldn't find anyone selling a cover or plug for this. Besides gaffer's tape, anyone have any suggestions for covering it? I subject the camera to fairly tough use (backpacking, streets of Chicago etc) so leaving it open doesn't seem like a good idea.
Long story short, a toddler stuck his finger in the EVF of my Z6. I didn't think much of it aside from maybe needing to wipe some smudges off with a microfiber cloth, but later I noticed that the EVF window/top layer of glass was dislodged and loose inside the EVF housing.
Oddly enough the viewfinder image seems completely fine, and the glass pane itself seems undamaged (just loose and knocking around inside). Has anyone else had this happen? Is it an expensive repair or maybe something I could fix myself?
You can see the edges of it here:

Just like my T2, EVF won't turn on for several seconds (the longest is about 22 seconds). I've reset the camera and it didn't help. Nothing I've tried seems to fix the issue at all.
Any ideas?
As much as I love this camera, it makes me not use it.
Hi guys,
I'm pretty new to photography, I just bought a used X100T today and was looking forward to testing out the EVF. From what I've read, the EVF seems to be a huge feature, because it gives an exact indication of how the actual photo will look, compared to using the OVF.
This seems to be completely different in my short experience though!
For example, if I have everything set to auto, the LCD actually gives a very accurate representation of the photo taken, but when I put my eye up to the EVF, it has a magenta/blue/purple look to it, and the photo doesn't come out as it looks on the EVF. Is this just because the quality of the EVF isn't the best? I've never used one before, so not sure of the standards of the technology.
Hope this makes sense.
Does anyone have any ideas? Is this a noob question or could there be a fault with the EVF?
Thanks!
Does anybody know if the Sony FDAEV1MK Electronic Viewfinder would work with the FX3?
an articulating EVF would be really convenient!

Hi guys,
So I noticed at some moments the image I see on the EVF is slightly overexposed when compared to the final image, Im assuming this ruins the purpose of an EVF? isnt what i see and capture on the EVF the final image?
Its an issue ive spotted in low light situations mainly.
Do you guys adjust any of the EVF brightness/ saturation settings?
Thanks!
I just got a new X-T4, and I'm trying to learn about all the different parts on the body of the camera. I noticed on the side of the EVF near the ISO dial, there's a little plastic protrusion and a phi (Ξ¦) symbol. I couldn't find any info on it in the manual. Anyone know what it's for? Perhaps some sort of ambient light sensor?
So I recently started to notice this weird situation in my EOS R5 where I have some "bad pixel" (they appear in the same location and show as red or blue color ) when using the back LCD screen and view finder when in shooting mode? Those "bad pixel" behaves perfectly normally when playing back photos and they don't affect the final saved raw or jped photos.
I knew there can be bad pixel for some screens. But in that case, it'll be permanent no matter how you use the screen for so I don't think it's that type.
It's also not the sensor or lens, I tried removing the lens and put the lens cap on to fully verify this (this actually make the pixel more obvious against the all black blackground). The output jpeg or raw are completely black so there's that.
I'm quite confused why is this happening and where in the pipeline is wrong. Maybe there something specific in the live preview image processing pipeline but that's quite weird.
Has any of you seen this before and is there a way to fix this?
Weird question. Does anyone know of the Visoflex external EVF work on an SL2-S?
I'm wondering about options for video work and since there's no articulating screen it's a bit limiting.
I know I could always get an external monitor/recorder like a Ninja v, but something smaller would be nice.
Thanks!
I was shooting yesterday with my R6. Looking through the viewfinder before taking a pic I have back button AF I would click it and hold the shutter halfway to reduce press time. My EVF would lag pretty bad, it looked like I was watching 10fps through the live screen on the EVF. I did not get a chance to look at my screen to see if it did the same thing. I heard of blackout but this is not it. This was showing me the view through the lens and it seemed like it dropped frames pretty bad. It did this about 4-5 times through a 4hr session or so with about 500 photos but It was enough to get me worried and hopefully nothing is wrong with my R6. This hasn't happened before and I might take out my camera this weekend to see if this keeps happening. Has anyone had this happen?
Edit: In case it matters I am using an orignal Canon battery the stock one that came with the R6, and the 24-105 F4 L that came with the kit. Camera has never been dropped or any other sort of mishandling.
When shooting sports with my A9ii, and I shoot a burst of, say, 40 or 50 frames with an athlete moving at high speed, and I take my finger off the shutter button, and my A9 ii starts writing to disk and the EVF pauses and displays the last image from the burst during the writing. When the write to disk is complete, the viewfinder returns to a real-time feed of reality, and I have to then re-find the athlete, adjust the zoom, re-compose, re-focus, and start shooting again. Itβs a very jarring process and I miss more shots than I'd like to as a result. Are there any ways to eliminate or shorten the blackout period? Apologies if this has been covered ad nauseum elsewhere; I have scoured the interwebs and found nothing, so maybe I am just missing something basic. Hoping the only answer isn't "buy an A1 for $6,500 and you're good."
I just picked up a refurb E-M1 Mark ii and to me it seems like the EVF coloring is WAY off. It looks as if the image inside is set to vivid and the saturation is turned WAY up. I did some searching, and it seems like that might be an "issue" of the camera, but the last post I could find was back in 2019. Just curious, any users of the camera have the same issue, or has there been a firmware/software update that would allow me to fix it? I shoot about 99.9% of all pictures usint the EVF, so not having an accurate portrayal of the iimage in there might be a breaking point, and I send the camera back..
Hello everyone. I fired up my X-Pro2, but when I looked into the EVF, I saw a strange ghosting image instead of the usual output. I can cycle through the normal modes of OVF only and the dual OVF/EVF fine, but on the full EVF mode, all I get is a strange ghosting image. If I cycle the view back to the LCD screen, the output is fine, and I can compose a shot. It looks like the camera can't project the EVF image correctly in the viewfinder and makes it next to useless to do anything with.
I wanted to see if anyone else has ever experienced this? I thought it may have been some strange setting, so I've factory reset the camera to make sure, but it's still there.
My gut feeling here is that it's broken, but I did want to ask other Fujifilm users first. Thank you for any replies on this!
I was shooting some night shots a week or so ago, and whenever I turned my flash on, the evf would go dark because the shudder would of course suddenly get faster. Do I have to take it out of live view every time I want to use flash or is there a setting I'm missing? It's an XT2 and TT350 flash
The eyecup on my GH5 is starting to tear and I need to replace it. I saw an EVF magnifier for Nikon and was curious if anyone had seen or used one for this camera.
I have an external monitor, but there are use cases where a monitor is too bulky and itβs too bright to use the LCD accurately. This would be a handy tool if one exists and my googling is coming up short.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Has anyone noticed distortion or warping in their EVF viewfinder?
Iβve got a XT4. The picture on the LCD looks good, the image looks fine, but the EVF can sometimes show a warping look.
I tired Aperture but some issue. I donβt use EVF often but it was distracting when I was. Seemed specific to the right side of the EVF as well.
Shooting in sunlight makes LCD finders hard to use to focus correctly. Does Sony make a viewfinder for the FX6?
The screen on my XT3 has randomly stopped working to take pictures. I canβt go through the menu or use it to take pictures. But I can use it to look back at my photos so the screen is functional. The EVF works fine to do anything per usual. Already tried the display button. Made sure nothing was covering the censor that turns the screen off when you put it up to your eye. Any idea what it could be? I looked through all the settings. Thanks!
Hey guys,
I have an Olympus E-PL10 which I love but have found myself seriously missing having an EVF. I know there's an optional one you can buy for this camera but, instead, I've been considering the Lumix GX9 as a replacement. I was reading reviews and came across more than one which mentioned screen/colour tearing when using the EVF due to it being field sequential. Could anyone shed any light on how much of an issue this actually is? Have you experienced it and is it particularly bad?
Final question, what's the AF like? I'm actually quite a big fan of the AF on the E-PL10 and was pleasantly surprised by how quick it is! For the sake of context, I mainly shoot street photos.
Cheers!
Hey everyone,
how do you clean your EOS R(p,a,5,6...) viewfinders? Mine is somewhat greasy, so it's not sharp anymore and highlights seem blurred. Photos are okay though, it's only the viewfinder that needs some cleaning.
