A list of puns related to "Employee Monitoring"
Hello,
I am being asked to recommend a solution for a customer for employee monitoring. What they want is productivity monitoring, things like, "MOUSE HASN"T MOVED IN OVER 1 HOUR" kindof reporting. Also, they don't want to BLOCK social media, but they want to know if it comes up in their day, which is something I can do with DNSFILTER or Fortigate filtering ... but if there is a solution that does this too, I'd like to hear about it.
Has anyone ever asked for this kind of solution, and if so, which direction did you go?
BTW I had a HORRIBLE time with Veriato cloud, they were down for almost a full month last year when we looked at something in this direction ...
Or, at least using the information there (anecdotal though it may be) as a catalyst for change?
Just curious the types or names of softwares used if any.
My employer is implementing an employee monitoring software that occasionally sreenshots, including additional monitors. I multitask with personal tasks during my work day, including responding to personal chats. I donβt have an issue with the software as far as AFK issues because Iβm a good worker and Iβm overly productive because of my experience level in my field, and stay at my desk, but I want to have a third monitor that keeps my personal emails/chats/info separate but visible. I also have a group chat with a select few coworkers to vent and have our unprofessional moments. Anyone know legit ways to trick the software out of screenshotting one particular monitor? All of my research is talking about auto mouse hacks, which I donβt need. Fwiw, I use my personal computer, do not have a company computer, and do not want a company computer bc my 32G of ram keeps me sane.

I work as a software engineer in Japan. 1 year in a startup then 5 years in a large tech company. The large tech company allowed us to work remotely since the start of the pandemic, and I finally got a taste of freedom and worked remotely from a bunch of places all around Japan, it was awesome. Few months ago they announced suddenly they were bringing everyone back to the office 5 days a week, without vaccines, no reason given. I immediately started looking for a new job. I found a fully remote job at a tech consultancy firm, and quit my old job. The new job starts on Monday. I just received the new Macbook through the post.
While setting it up, to my horror I found they had employee monitoring software installed on it π¨ One which I often see advertised on TV and train stations here, SkySea Client View (you can use Google Translate to get the gist). Here's a description of the functions. Basically they can monitor when my screen is on or off, take screenshots, see all files, what I'm copying, the time I'm spending in each app. It gives me the creeps! I feel its intrusive and immoral, and shows an innate distrust of employees. And irregardless of my opinion, the fact is, it sucks a good portion of the CPU time constantly. This is micromanagement to a degree I never thought anyone would subject their employees to. I've started to wonder how long I'm gonna last at this company, but I think this software is used by increasingly more and more Japanese companies...
And the thing is, in the interview it was emphasised that "we let our employees manage their own time" and "your output is what matters".
My question is, has anyone else had such monitoring software installed on their employer-supplied PC? How did you feel about it? What should I do about it?
By 'whistleblow' I mean sharing anything that your company doesn't want to.
Don't take screenshots on company computer/phone. There may be invisible watermarks that can be traced back to you by your company's IT department. Do it on your own machine, one that hasn't been enrolled in any monitoring program (e.g. Microsoft Intune). Better yet, share text instead of image whenever you can, and image instead of video, etc. The less information is contained in your posts, the safer.
Similarly, anything you do over company device/network/vpn, assume they can trace it.
Here is just one example of an asshole monitoring software provider bragging about their ability to trace screenshots back to you.

Hi, I hope you are all well!
Just stuck with a little complex formula (complexed in my opinion lol)
I have a google spreadsheet that you are able to cycle through months and years with it pulling all the data from a relative sheet. The dating cycle works fine, however, I am trying to make it a filter to show data of the selective job.
I hope I explained this well.
Here is the formula currently running
> =IFERROR(IF(C$9="","NA",IF(C$9<INDEX(START_DATE,ROW($B10)-ROW($B$9)),"NE",IF(AND(INDEX(TERMINATION_DATE,ROW($B10)-ROW($B$9))>0,C$9>INDEX(TERMINATION_DATE,ROW($B10)-ROW($B$9))),"NE",IF(NOT(ISERROR(MATCH(C$9,L_HOLS,0))),"H",IF(INDEX(L_WKNDVAL,WEEKDAY(C$9,1))=1,"WKND",INDEX(T_LEAVE_TYPES,SUMPRODUCT(--(T_LEAVE_EMPLOYEE_NAME=$B10),--(T_LEAVE_START_DATE<=C$9),--(T_LEAVE_END_DATE>=C$9),ROW(T_LEAVE_TYPES))-3)))))),"")
Here is a link to what the sheet looks like
Any help would be fantastic! If you need any additional info, please ask
Hello! My name is Stefan, and Iβm a graduate student studying Psychology at Texas A&M University. Iβm hoping thereβs a few people here that would be willing to participate in a (paid) survey to learn more about how job seekers process information about potential employersβ monitoring practices. It takes about 15 minutes, and around 60 people in local nursing programs have participated so far. At the end of the survey, there is a unique code and a link for you to fill out your contact information so that I can email you a code for $5 Amazon.com credit as a thank-you for your time.
The survey is open to current nursing students in the US who plan to apply for a job as an RN resident at the end of their program. Iβm hoping for a total of about 200 qualified people will take the survey, so please feel free to share this post with anyone else in your nursing program! This survey is part of the requirements for graduation from my program, so I really appreciate your help.
The survey link is here β https://tamu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4UQ1ozscbMYOUdg
The survey will close as soon as 200 people complete it. I also plan to keep an eye on this post for the next few days, so feel free to post any questions or thoughts you have!
