A list of puns related to "Dogmeat"
It's been on my mind lately if Bethesda could ever return some Fallout 4 characters to the sequel.
However, it's pretty fun to speculate what would be the fate of these characters. Tbh, it would probably be an extention to their lore if they appeared in the next wasteland.
I just started playing Fallout 3 and loving it mostly because I had Dogmeat at my side. During one of my missions, a super mutant blew Dogmeat to dust and the games saying that βDogmeat has diedβ. As the title says, does Dogmeat respawn? Or is it permanent?
So I did the Vault 87 mission with Dogmeat and Star Paladin Cross as my companions, had Fawkes bring me the GECK, then the Enclave attack happened upon which the game auto-dismisses your companions. I went through Raven Rock and met with Fawkes outside after destroying it, and after getting him as a companion I went to Vault 101 to take Dogmeat again. Only, he's hostile and attacks me. I tried dismissing Fawkes before going to him or waiting 3 days, but no, the moment he sees me he's hostile, killable and attacks me like any other hostile NPC. I can't find much about this bug online, does anyone how it can be resolved?
I'm proud of the armour I made for her. I hope you all like it. She didn't place in the costume contest but she was a good girl and enjoyed all of the extra pets. Pictures Of Doggo Edited to add: Based on u/WexyLex outfit for her good boy. And Kyle Locke's video on YouTube.
The first fallout I ever played was fallout 4 (I've gone on to play NV and when I get time I'll play FO3). Now if you know anything about fo4 you'll know that one of the first quests is to kill the raiders in Lexington. Now I chose to keep dog meat when I started playing and i was really enjoying myself when those sacred words appear in the top right of the screen "dogmeat has found something" which was then proceeds with dogmeat running towards me at fall speed with about 10 ghouls in tow two of which where legendary. So of course I run off following dogmeat. Which I later learned wasn't a good idea as he lead me to the feet of the behemoth that I had been hiding from. If you haven't guessed I died from the encounter. Lucky I had saved just before this.
Also sorry for any spelling or grammar mistakes, I'm at work right now for I can't use text to speech for the bigger words.
After the quest when you get to Fort Hagen, and you pick between dogmeat and Valentine as a companion i dismissed valentine, and he did not move, so i dismissed dogmeat and took Valentine back to diamond city, where he stayed, but when i went to Red Rocket to get dogmeat back he wasnt there, or at Fort Hagen. i reloaded and tried sending him to Sanctuary, but he did not appear there either. I also tried taking him directly to both locations before dismissing him and he just ran off never to be aeen again, and to top it off when i went back to Fort Hagen to move Valentine he was also gone and not in his office.
does anyone have any idea how i can possibly deal with this?
EDIT: i managed to get Valentine back to his office, but even after building a dog house at the gas station Dogmeat still just runs off into the woods even when dismissed right next to the dog house. i even specifically sent him to this dog house, while standing right in front of it. i am at a loss.
It's well known that cat's and dogs are natural enemies and wild cats would do hunting and kill things if I didn't own it and lock it in my apartment all day anyway. Of course I only feed my cat with NATURALLY KILLED DOGS that had their throats slits and were boiled alive in factory farms just like in nature. It's all natural. Cat's cant' be vegan btw.
Vegan btw.
I had him in sanctuary I think and now I canβt find him even with the bell what do I do?
I'm playing on Xbox One.
Dogmeat disappeared right around when I entered Fort Hagen on the quest to kill Kellogg. I realize a lot of people have encountered this bug. But I've checked everywhere that's been suggested when this happens: Sanctuary Hills, Red Rocket Gas Station, the areas around Fort Hagen, and Diamond City, and even my other settlements--and he's not at any of them. Any idea what to do?
I think it makes complete sense that dogmeat is a plant by the institute/ Father to track the sole survivorβs progress in the wasteland. Heβs placed right where the SS would have to go on the way out of the vault and is also the only βnormalβ dog seen throughout the whole wasteland. He instantly takes to the player character and follows them unconditionally. He also leads the character to Kellogg with extreme precision. Obviously, this could be chalked up to gameplay but still, it makes sense. And yes, I know dog meat has no synth component but still heβs technically un-killable so giving him one wouldnβt make sense anyway
I am on survival and when I try and recruit Dogmeat, he just responds with "Curious Sound"
Can somebody help me with this bug?
After waltzing out of an AMA and doing low-effort posts for a few weeks, I hereby announce a semi-ambitious series of eight posts encompassing ready-to-export Zen slogans. We'll see when I quit.

>>Wumen says, The sickly-yellow faced Gotama Buddha^1 ^2 ^3 acts as if no one can see what he's doing!^4 ^5 He's a slave-dealer who ^6 swindles the masses by feeding you dog-meat under the pretenses of it being mutton.^7

Clearly there's a double-allusion going on here. 'Yellow faced' as a term of abuse for people who look jaundiced or just straight nasty and unkempt. As well as 'yellow[-golden] faced' in reference to a folk-parable of how Buddha is neither black or brown (as in, the skin colors ascribed to South Asians) but rather gold!

Besides Wumen, the Zen Masters such as Dahui and Hongzhi go on record referring to Gotama Buddha with a similar epithet; in addition, various 'hits' come up in Daoyuan's "Jingde Transmission" text. Dahui's Treasury #541 is one instance of a currently-translated reference to Gotama as 'yellow-faced'. This verbage frequently comes up in Zen texts is the long-and-short.

i.e., he was unscrupulous in his dealings
This gold mine is, in a nutshell, the reason why most Western Chinese->English translations so...bad. The translators, particularly those coming from weirdo meditation cults, are hardly even doing basic Chinese-language google of words and phrases that come up, much less giving the reader any footnotes.

Here, again, is a resource for those interested in parsing the threads of inter-generational Zen conversations as reflected in idiom-usage. One such example of "acts as if no one can see what he's doing" comes up in Wansong's remarks on Xuedou's verse in Case 71 of the Book of Serenity.

In the histories, this phrase refers to the slave-trade.
