A list of puns related to "Derek Carr"
first it was russell to the raiders rumors, now it's rodgers to the raiders rumors. along with that there's people that say he sucks and he needs to be out. i don't get it. i watched a few games of his and he did pretty well running the offense for the most part and he's putting up good stats
Seems like just yesterday he was a rookie.
Letβs hear your arguments
Edit: I literally deleted this post twice and got day autocorrected to say every time lol
Hey Reddit!
It's Day 85 of this offseason series where we discuss a different player's fantasy value each day as a group. We are 122 days away from the NFL season opener now!
Each day we'll drop a name, include some thoughts on that player, and you can respond with your thoughts in the comments.
Today's Discussion: Derek Carr (QB, Las Vegas Raiders)
The Good With Derek Carr
Year To Year Consistency: Over the 7 seasons that Derek Carr has been the Raiders starting quarterback, heβs missed just two regular season games. In each season heβs thrown at least 19 touchdown passes. In 5/7 years heβs thrown for somewhere between 3937 and 4103 passing yards. Overall, at this point, you largely know what youβre going to get with Derek Carr during each season.
Willingness To Throw Downfield: In 2020, Derek Carr had 65 deep ball attempts, which ranked 8th in the NFL. He averaged 7.9 passing yards per an attempt (6th among QBs) and he posted a 44.6% deep ball completion %.
Solid Talent: Derek Carr posted a 84.7 PFF Grade during the 2020 season, which is very good. His PFF grade has gone up in each of the past few years - 2017 (68.9), 2018 (73.2), 2019 (79.9) β> 2020 (84.7).
The Concerns With Derek Carr
No Rushing Upside: Over the course of his career, Derek Carr has had just two seasons with more than 100 rushing yards. 2020 was his best rushing season ever where he carried the ball 39 times for 140 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. It is unlikely he significantly improves in this area at this point of his career.
Bad Pass %: Derek Carr had a bad pass % of 16.1% last year, which was slightly below-average
Raiders Offensive Line In Flux: The Raiders traded away many of their offensive lineman this offseason, with Rodney Hudson (73.6 PFFΒ grade in 2020) going to the Cardinals, Trent Brown (68.9Β PFF grade in 2020) going to the Patriots, and Gabe Jackson (63.7 PFFΒ grade in 2020) going to the Seattle Seahawks. They did draft Alex Leatherwood, an offensive tackle from Alabama in the first round so hopefully he can be a reliable new piece on the line.

Man oh man did Billy overpay for him. I woulda taken Juju at 8M in a heartbeat over Agholor at 13M. John Brown at 3M is even better.
About 10 rds into a SF startup with Cousins, Carr and Mac Jones. Is Carr about to get the Dalton treatment after this season or am I safe to hold off drafting a 4th qb (until some really late round flier)? I see hes got no guaranteed money past this year but also feel like hes constantly shit on but still a top 15-20 guy every year.
Interesting article. I'm in the camp that he's correct in his assessment of our current team and we need a defense to be successful.
I believe with only 3 million left in cap this is the way....
