A list of puns related to "Cup Size"
Gals. Listen. Your letter size is only half of the equation, and means nothing by itself. I wear a DDD/E.If you thought "woah, that's pretty big!" nnnnnnope. Before I found my actual size, I was wearing 34B. I am actually a 30DDD/E. The letters indicate the inches of difference between your chest and your breasts at their largest point (usually bending forward). Look at this image showing how band size affects cup volume.
You are not supposed to have to constantly re-adjust throughout the day. Your straps aren't supposed to dig into your shoulders. The cups aren't supposed to cut into the breast tissue. The center of your bra should always lie flat against your chest. You are not supposed to have back problems related to your breasts not being properly supported. Your body is NOT the problem, your bra is!
Regular stores do +4 sizing (add 4 to your band, subtract 4 from the cup) so that they don't have to hold a lot of stock. Society demands we wear a bra, then doesn't even give us the correct size - forcing us to always be a little bit uncomfortable and self conscious. I heard the "80% of women are wearing the wrong bra size" statistic and thought "not me, I got measured by a professional!". No. We truly are wearing the wrong size. I spent the money on a Pepper Bra, the bra "for small boobs". I thought it fit well. I took a picture in it in the dressing room of the lingerie store I went to after I figured out my real size, then a picture in the bra I have now. The difference is laughable. I was wondering why there was a trash can in the dressing room. Its for women who want to throw their bra away (they donate them!) when they find their correct size. Mine went into the can.
Please please do yourself the favor of going to r/ABraThatFits and finding your actual size. You don't have to be uncomfortable, sport a uniboob, or have quadboobs. You don't have to have shoulder, neck, and back pain. There is a bra for you, in your actual size, that will make you comfortable. Donβt panic if the band feels tighter than youβre use to - the band is what is supposed to do the job of support, not the straps!
Edit : If you find your true size and don't know where to go to get it - Nordstrom ca
... keep reading on reddit β‘Quick question to anyone who works at a Starbucks or orders there. I only recently started making rounds to Starbucks with some coworkers. I donβt drink coffee but Iβll get hot chocolate, and I asked for a large. One of my coworkers told me Iβm a jerk and that I was being rude and I asked why? He told me they donβt serve large, I needed to specify either a Venti or Grande. I was given a Venti, which was the size I wanted based on what I see. Iβll be specific in the future but is this something that legitimately angers employees? Is it like asking for a Whopper at McDonalds?
I checked the rules so hopefully sharing this is allowed since I am not affiliated with them and donβt receive any benefit from people buying. I recently got into the bra brand Understance based on some IG ads. I am always interested in women owned and ethical/sustainable brands, and saw they wanted people to give their designers feedback over Zoom. I did that, the designer was super nice, and sent me a couple free bras to try which I really like.
Now I see that they have a full open call going for G+ cup sizes and 26-48 bands and thought some people in this group might be interested! Itβs to help them design future products and a cool way to bring about change. Looks like you will also get a free bra to try out too.
I keep forgetting. Itβs US.
She has been complaining about not having well fitting bras and also that bras are too expensive. I told her I would go bra shopping with her today and last night I went to this subreddit and did the research. She begrudgingly allowed me to take the measurements per the subreddit guide, thinking it was a waste of time. Per the calculator, we got 34 G UK and she thought it was bogus, insisting she was 34 DD US. I told her to trust me and today we went to the mall. We first went to Macy's where she picked out DD cups and I grabbed the biggest 34 cup I could find, a G, and when she came out, found it fit the best. We didn't buy that one since I suspected it likely wasn't a perfect fit. We went to Bloomingdales where she tried G and H US sizes (F and G UK) and found the US H (UK G) the best fit, which we bought one. Similarly at Nordstrom, she found a H US (G UK) fit best and we bought one from there.
Now she is having an existential crisis and wants breast reduction because she doesn't like having that big letter as her cup size, even though the bra is more comfortable and fits better. She is also upset that I knew her size better than she did.
Lol
Thanks you to the 534 people who voted and those that commented on the Cup poll.
Although it isn't the best metric because it's a measure of volume and what an A cup looks like depends on band size it is a metric we all relate to.
That said, results below
Summary of results as percentage:
Less than A - 19.66%
A Cup - 26.03%
B Cup - 27.09%
C Cup - 15.73%
D Cup - 4.68%
Greater than D Cup - 5.99%
So here's the thing, my boobs DO NOT want to stay put. They are wild and free, pendulous things. Wired bras have been the only bras in which they stay in their designated cups. In every wireless bra, bralette, or bikini top I've tried, they inevitably migrate together and create that lovely monoboob effect and/or make an escape attempt, and I'm constantly adjusting.
I don't really like bras, and I go without 90% of the time, but at the same time I love the way they look and certain fashions really do require them. I'd love to try my hand at making my own, and I would LOVE to find a wireless pattern that actually fits nicely. I'm a 36DDD. Does anyone with similar proportions have any favorites you wouldn't mind sharing?
Hi all, I have an odd bra size that I am realizing is difficult to find well-fitting bras for. 40A seems to be what fits me best. Using the ABTF calculator my recommended size was 38C/D. The cup size for both is far far too large for me, as I just don't have that much breast tissue to support. I have broad, short roots, and I am full on the bottom. It's near impossible for me to get cleavage due to them being wide set and difficult to push inwards. I need a very wide gore on a bra. A 40 inch band is also far more comfortable for me. My measurements are here:
large underbust: 39
snug underbust: 38.5
tight underbust 35.5
standing bust: 43
leaning bust: 42
lying bust: 41
Recently I purchased a Pepper brand 40A bra and it fits pretty much perfectly. I'm curious what other brands folks would recommend for large band sized womyn with not very large cups. I was thinking maybe plus sized juniors brands, and came across this company that makes bras for developing teens, but the band size is just a little too small for me. Any ideas? I've searched this thread high and lo and have not been able to find any prolonged discussions for my odd size. Thanks.
I thought I was an A cup, bought a bra but didn't fill it π Almost 4 months hrt.
Hello,
Recap: I had been wearing 34B/C with my boob being cut in the middle by these. I used the calculator and got a 32DDD size which I thought was too big.
When the bras arrived I thought they looked too big but after wearing the32DDD it fits better than I thought! (Thanks everyone who pushed my perceptions on a DDD cup).
However the band does feel a little tight and it feels uncomfortable to have the underwire start under my armpit and itβs so far back that it gets in the way when I put my arms forward (see pic3) so I think itβs not the ideal size yet.
I canβt wrap my mind about how these things work and I know a lot of you in this sub are experts so I was hoping you could help tweak this to my ideal size because Iβm not going back to the 34B.
I ordered some 34DD and they were too big in the cup (extra space βbubble likeβ in the front) but the 34 C cuts my boob so, should I try 34D?
Thank you in advance for your help and sharing your knowledge for comfier bras, itβs true everyone deserves a bra that fits!
Given a large portion of the population would benefit from more cup sizes, how did they manage to convince everyone that DD was the biggest size?
Down from GG/H to D!
I'm so fed up with pay $60-80 for shitty quality bras. Does anyone have any leads on bra brands that are quality (i.e, comfortable fabric, underwires that does not come out in less than 4 months, like the last two bras I paid for from Playful Promises!!) AND carry sexy styles? Tired of either brands not carrying anything larger than an E-G or if they do, they basically look like sports bras.
I saw a post where someone asked a question like this, and a bunch of the answers were saying that they reached C cups and D cups after being on HRT for, like, a year or something
I assume this is on the upper end of the spectrum, but what's average? I've been on HRT for 7 months and I barely have A cups. I know it depends a lot on genetics and body size and stuff; my female family members tend to have bigger breasts, but my body is pretty small and have barely any fat on me at all
Hi lovely people on the internet, I just made a reddit account so that I can ask this, but does anyone has any experience with teen cups? I have never used cups before. What age range is it most suitable for? I'm 16 so no longer a 12-13 year-old, can be considered a little petite (1m60 i.e. 5ft2, 50 kg i.e. 110 lbs), and looking for a cup that can last me 10 years like they advertise. Would a teen cup fit that criteria?
Also, even though I'm not very active person on my period, I'm looking to switch to using cups so that I can freely do yoga and stretching and even some exercises on days where I feel better and want to move around but still bleeding. Should I opt for a soft cup, a regular-firmness cup, or a firmer one? I don't want anything to leak out of the cup. I still want to be comfortable though, and I don't really mind if there's a learning curve to the cup. Edit: If you have used a firmer cup before I appreciate you sharing any experience regarding its firmness!
Thank you so much haha. Any advice and all is super appreciated! (Gosh I've never posted anything like this before and I'm kinda nervous, please don't ghost me)
Edit: for more context, I already took the cup quiz on both PACII and Period Nirvana, was recommended the Hello Cup XS, one alternative recommended was the Saalt Teen cup but when I visited the Hello Cup website their cup quiz recommended the S/M (size 1) cupβI think it's because their quiz allowed me to specify my age further compared to the PACII and PN quiz so now I'm very confused.
I had felt a little bit self-conscious about eating so much and putting on an extra 5 lbs recently (I am about 10 lbs overweight now and had planned to lose weight for returning to the office from WFH on Monday) but it makes so much sense now. Went from 38C to 38D in a month. I just bought new bras at Kohl's when they were $15 during the Christmas sale π©
(American sizing)
I like the cup size I have. Itβs proportionate to my frame, and I look well balanced when Iβm wearing an unpadded bra. Due to having big boobs for nearly two decades, gravity has started doing its thing. They look okay right now, but I think I will definitely need a BL in future.
I would ideally want lift with no implants ,just to enhance perkiness but keep current βvolumeβ if that makes sense.
Is this possible?
In December 2019, I made the mental plan to save up money, take a day off in April 2020, and go out in Houston to get a proper fitting. I currently wear a 34 G but have lost some weight over the years. I have not been officially measured for like 7 years.
Well we all know what happened in Spring 2020 that prevented me from going out in Houston. Since then I've tried to find a store that measures people and stocks what my size might be. I've only found a mobile service that drives to your home and lets you try on their products. They did not stock my size.
Does anyone have any Houston recommendations? I tried looked on this subreddit but only found posts that were a year old.
Please do not PM me weird or gross or invasive stuff. My boobs and bras are not for you. They are for me.
My measurements are loose underbust 48β, snug underbust 47β, tight underbust 46β, standing bust 54.5β, leaning 54β, and laying down 53.5β. Am I just measuring wrong? My biggest complaints with bras are the straps fall down my small shoulders, the cup either fits my larger breast or my smaller one, never both, the wires dig into my armpits, and the band usually rolls.
Iβm super frustrated, have tried at least 20 bras in various sizes over the last year since initially trying the fit calculator. A 46G was about two inches too big in each cup. Even if I find a bra that seems to fit, it often digs into my armpits and is terribly uncomfortable.
I just discovered this sub from tiktok and it feels like i enter a new world! Seriously, there's so many things that i didn't know about bras, i admit i got confused the first time i landed here.
So i use the bra calculator to measure my exact size, and my size went from 34B to 30D. After further reading from the guide, i think my breast is shallow with tall roots, slightly fuller on bottom and outer part, but i'm still not entirely sure about this. (Edit: i think my shape is shallow, tall roots, conical with even horizontal fullness) Anyway here's my six sizes:
But here's the problem. I wear sport bra or bralette daily, i only have like 3 'normal' bras that i wear for more formal settings. And all 3 of them are non wired and seamless, but for some reason the cups won't fit. It always have this gap on top, even when i lean for a bit. Here's the pic. Maybe it's because i wear bigger band, or the cup shape is wrong, i'm not sure. I'm really clueless about this, so i really hope you guys could help meπ₯Ί
I took the period nirvana quiz recommending the mermaid guppy cup, but shipping might be a problem as Malaysia to Singapore shipping has went from easy to very difficult during covid. I was considering either getting either a organicup or saalt cup in the teen size as they are provided by a local distributor, but I'm afraid the diameter might be too small for my age. what should I do?
I bought a cup size too small, but I'm confused about how my shape is affecting fit.
My measurements:
Photos: https://imgur.com/a/EIHNdi9
Cotton On Body - Fifi Lace Push Up Bustier - 30B
Cotton On Body - Emily Lace Balconette - 30C.
Cotton On Body - Ultimate Comfort Lace Strapless Push Up - 30C
For comparison - Unlined 30D Freya that's about 9 years old, mystery bra
Recommendations - ideally I'd like an everyday t-shirt Bra (or a few). Unfortunately the typical t-shirt Bra shape just doesn't seem to work for me (gaping in the cups typically). In the last couple of years I've moved to bralettes almost exclusively due to comfort and frustration with bras not fitting properly (particularly with too-wide gore). I live in Australia so something that is affordable to get here and easy to return is ideal, preferably somewhere local.
Edit: Okay I'm definitely more projected than I suspected! Definitely full on top as well.
Edit: it's a Freya Jolie!!
