Getting rid of Benthic Ctenophore?? (Lots)

Does anyone know how to get rid of benthic ctenophores other than manually removing them?

So I had a benthic cnetophore pop up probably a month back or so. It mustโ€™ve come on a frag. Anyways, the population steadily increased and I would manually remove them near my corals as needed, but recently (past two days or so) I found myself removed 20+ and there being even more the next morning/day. Iโ€™m positive of their ID and understand theyโ€™re supposedly harmless, but their โ€œtentaclesโ€ do piss off my corals from time to time and with so many now, it has become frequent and doesnโ€™t look great in my tank. Any ideas? TIA!

Do you know what a ctenophore is?

If you don't: "Ctenophora comprise a phylum of invertebrate animals that live in marine waters worldwide. They are notable for the groups of cilia they use for swimming, and they are the largest animals to swim with the help of cilia. Depending on the species, adult ctenophores range from a few millimeters to 1.5 m in size.ย " -Wikipedia

Pronucleus of Ctenophore female gamete independently selecting genetically desirable male sperm

Hi there,

Iโ€™m a third year zoology student currently studying an evolutionary biology module. My lecturer briefly mentioned this in a recent lecture on sexual selection. She said that there hasnโ€™t been much research done on it and we still donโ€™t understand why it occurs.

Does anyone have any extra insight into this?
