If anyone has been to a Colin Meloy solo concert, what does he play? Is it all solo projects and songs or does he play decemberists music? I'm interested in seeing him at the Bluebird Music Festival but I'd be much more willing to actually buy a ticket if he were playing decemberists music.
Last night Colin played his first show "in two and a half years" (I think his previous acoustic show was at The Old Church in 2019) at Topaz Farm on Sauvie Island just outside Portland. He played a sold out show in front of a gigantic tree as the sun went down. He wore sunglasses throughout the show because he woke yesterday morning with an eye infection.
It was my first post-pandemic show and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. He didn't play any new songs which implies to me that there's no new album on the horizon.

I first read it in 6th grade, almost 7 years ago. It was a part of a book competition (the name is failing me). I remember liking it quite a bit. I picked it up at a bookstore to have in my collection. But life gets in the way, as it often does. And I haven't picked it up since I bought it. Maybe I tried to pick it up and only made it through a few pages, but that's it. I forgot the charming illustrations within the pages (done by Carson Ellis). I forgot the deckled pages. I won't give any spoilers, and yes. I am aware it's a Young Adult book. But I have fond memories of this book, and wanted to re-read it. Has anyone else read this book?

My mom got me it for Christmas. I thought the show was awesome! I had such a fun time watching him play. On that day, I also had another stream to attend. The 2 streams overlapped. The other stream was Alex Church Brown from the band Sea Wolf! I payed more attention to Colin's stream more though. I had a fun night.

I love The Decemberists, and Colin Meloy is one of my favorite writers (in any medium). I adore the way he writes clever, sincere, unique, folk tales within his songs and am looking for books that have a similar style.
I've read the first of his Wildwood books (and loved it), and the only style of writing I've been able to find that's similar is Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (which I also absolutely love). What other books have a similar feel or style?
