Last week I switched to the Halifax for their £125 switching bonus, but now I see that the Clydesdale Bank are offering double that. Its free money really.
If you have a neat carousel system of current accounts to take advantage of the various high interest rates available, then switching one of them to Clydesdale might be worthwhile.
EDIT: If you opened/applied before the offer ended you may still be able to get the cashback.
Apparently it was pulled at 9.30 this morning.
Of course my letters to complete sign up didn't appear until 10.30 and I didn't find out until after completing it all.

They finally reached the 'sticks'. :) Got one in my change this morning. Really weird having that see-through window in a bank-note. They do feel silky but insubstantial and if my 'pristine on receipt' one is any guide liable to crease badly.

It’s just that my 70th day is coming up this Friday and I am aware of people receiving it earlier.
Starting school this month and it's going to add a 30+ mile ride (round trip) to my weekly schedule. Currently I have a mountain bike but I don't want to be eating up tires constantly. I'm looking for a bike that will handle a 200lbs+ man like myself for commuting and for longer rides on days off. I'm not terribly concerned with bike weight. Thank you in advance for any help / direction available.
Edit: Budget will be around ~800 bucks. I appreciate everyones feedback, going to look into the LHT!
