A list of puns related to "Claimant"
Seems like from all last year up until just two or three weeks ago this place had to a bunch of active users posting their problems/situation about their claims, lots of users chiming in on posts with comments, and it was pretty much unmoderated (yea that spike____ moderator showed under sub details but wasn't really active, or he/she was jus a lurker like most and didn't get involved with heavily moderating..or even light moderating, seemed like they just let the reddit sub do its thing and let the users/readers make their own judgement call on what resources to use that were posted; like emails, links, etc. I'm personally a claimant since last year and without social media, mainly facebook and reddit, I would of never got my claim active last year after a couple months of being stuck with little to no guidance from deo. I'm a claimant that would of gave up or kept filing unnecessary appeals if it wasn't for emailing a shitload of state reps, senators, and deo employees..which finally worked and finally got my claim sorted out last summer. The deo seems like they take the less is more approach and give vague, short scripted updates that don't help...I really love the the deo monthly update "most problems or issues can be resolved by claimants logging into connect to claim their weeks". Yeah, like claimants are just forgetting to login to claim their weeks. Anyway, in my opinion this sub has been waaayyy less active lately and has become less useful. I hope the mod(s) let it go back to how it was.
From the content of the messages, they seem really demanding and rude. Is it because they think they can push women around or something? I'd really like to see if this is a wider problem as the stress my colleagues have been put under because of these messages is really unfair especially when they're some of the most friendly and diligent people on the team.
This post refers to a previous one made in r/UKPersonalFinance: here
Basically, my former landlady revoked her consent for the TDS to deal with a deposit dispute (reason unknown), saying instead she wanted to go to court. She never ended up going, instead keeping the money that was supposed to be sent to the TDS in this event. I had no idea she never handed over the money so I waited the 6 months that the TDS gives to go to court (otherwise the money is handed to the consenting party). When I rang them up after the deadline had expired to ask if I could now get the money since I wasn't the one who revoked consent, they told me she had never handed it over, and they had suspended her TDS membership.
I then wrote a letter to her saying I intended to start a claim in order to get the money back. I gave her 7 days to either transfer the money, or send me a response and negotiate. Instead, she started her own claim against me, saying I owed her the deposit money, some rent arrears (completely and obviously untrue) plus interest. She didn't mention in her claim that she held my money, nor did she send a letter saying she would do this.
My question is, what will the court do? If I win, how would I enforce this since I'm the defendant in this situation? If she wins, can she get a CCJ issued and just say I've not paid? I'm really confused by this and I'm not sure what to do!
Thanks!
Without further ado, the mod team is happy to announce /u/Ryanw5385 as the new Co-Claimant for House Bracken. Congratulations! We hope you enjoy your claim.
Be noted that /u/Ryanw5385 will be taking control of Otho Bracken, while /u/ey_bb_wan_sum_fuk will be retaining control of Erik Bracken.
I called EDD today for the very time and was only on hold for 18 minutes! Iβm on FED-ED and my claim year though it says βon extensionβ ends 3/20. I still have some money left over in my balance but I wanted to call to see what I needed to do moving forward and the representative told me that when your benefit year ends you will have to file a new claim no matter what. Obviously there are other post saying representatives are saying to do nothing but the rep who I spoke with offered to file the claim while we were over the phone and since I have not earned any wages since Iβve been unemployed he said I will receive a letter determining that Iβm NOT eligible for regular UI and will continue to remain on the extension. He also said once my balance hits zero to call back (πππ) and make sure they filed the extension for me. I would honestly advise people to take action he didnβt say do absolutely nothing and donβt worry because everything will be done on my behalf. And when I asked about a possible lapse in payments if I hit zero he said if I call at that time theyβll be able to extend it that same day SOOOOOO Iβll keep this updated ππ½
A couple of weeks ago, I read in the news about the executive order regarding unemployment claimants. It's been my understanding that NEW claimants after March 14 or 15 would need to begin search for employment as this requirement would begin again after it was initially waived. People who have had an active claim since last year, like myself for example who is self-employed, would NOT be required to apply for jobs.
It was also my understanding that people would NOT need to reapply for a new claim once it reaches a year and that it would automatically be extended.
I am now seeing reports that seem to contradict that:
> As people approach the 52-week mark of receiving benefits, the agency has instructed people to file a new claim to begin a new benefit year.
> [...]
> Beginning Monday, March 15, people who file for benefits for the first time or are reapplying after completing one year are required to show each week that they are looking for work.
Another report:
> Many of those out of work will have to look for jobs again, starting now, to keep getting benefits. The weekly work search requirement was waived for most of the pandemic, but it went back into effect this week for people filing new claims.
> That includes people who are newly unemployed as well as anyone who's been unemployed for an entire year. That's because the state's "benefit year" resets after 365 days, requiring people to file a new claim.
> The state's unemployment system will prompt people affected by this to file that new claim, according to the Division of Employment Security.
My initial claim began 03/15/2020 (PUA) and 03/22/2020 (UI) according to my claimant homepage. My current end dates are showing as 09/04/2021 (PUA) and 03/20/2021 (UI), yet I have received no such prompt to reapply with a new claim. Does that mean my PUA was automatically extended but I'll have to reapply for UI? Again, I am self-employed, so I was found ineligible for UI which is why I've received PUA this entire time.
Does anyone know what's going on or what the actual requirements and expectations are? I'm just trying to do what I'm supposed to do so that I don't owe money or get in trouble for a misunderstanding. Sorry, this is just incredibly frustrating and con

The mod team would like to thank /u/Dino_King88 for his time as House Stark of Winterfell.
We are now accepting applications for a Co-Claimant House Stark of Winterfell. Here is a link to the Winterfell Wiki. This Co-Claimant would be taking on the main responsibilities of being a Monarch player with mechanical control of the claim, and controlling the King character.
Dino will be looking to keep at least the following characters: Cedrick Stark, Sylvia Stark, Torrhen Stark, Serena Stark, and the children/bastards of these characters.
Applications will remain open for at least 48 hours. As a reminder, placeholder comments and any joke/non-application comments will be removed.
Potential co-claimants are encouraged to contact Dino (dinoking88#5330 on Discord) for more information about the claim and characters.
Please answer the following questions in your application:
What inspires/interests you about this claim?
How do you plan on promoting RP in the region?
How equipped are you to take a leadership role not only in-character, but also in the community and the region, and what will you do to improve the environment there?
Finally, sample lore is optional but always appreciated. Please note that sample lore refers to lore written as a character of the house you are applying for.
Good luck to everyone who applies!
I'm not really sure why as nothing has changed... is this just normal procedure? Do they just periodically send these out? Or are they actually expecting me to submit more documents that I've submitted a thousand times?
Hi,
Thanks for reading and appreciate any advice you can give. (England)
Just to give a bit of context, in a civil litigation case with builders we received a judgement in our favour but the defendents have now filed an application to "set it aside"
Curiously, on the application we can see that they've picked the option to set it aside through a phone/in-person hearing only and not without hearing which was one of the options. A hearing date has been set and will cost us thousands of pounds plus vat for a barrister cost so I am quite concerned.(and I wanted to ask if that is standard?)
My questions are as follows:
Is it possible for them to come to a hearing without a barrister, resulting in us being the only ones to have a hefty cost (they haven't appointed a solicitor so far either while we have)
Is it possible that they've ticked the hearing options only to ensure ongoing cost to us which they can't repay! and if so how do we try to fight against that? we've been told that each visit to the court on our behalf will costs us thousands!
Can we petition to the court to solve the issues without a hearing to avoid this ? The mounting cost of a barrister for potentially multiple hearings is scary.
Thank you for reading.

In CA, agent is in WI. My motorcycle was accused of swiping an expensive car. I learned of this in a letter sent from a random insurance company, which informed me of their intent and asked me to contact their office to relay my insurance and additional information. It was a strange letter to receive out of the blue (and without actually being in an accident), so I questioned it online and the consensus was that this is a common fraud technique and that if it were a legit claim I'd hear from my own insurance company. So I waited.
One month later I received a letter from an investigator contracted by my insurance company stating they had determined I was at fault. I've been trying to get this reversed or re-adjudicated but I'm being stonewalled and sent in loops. I've since provided a statement, explained that one doesn't simply "have" a motorcycle accident and go about their merry way unawares, etc. My favorite part so far has been being asked to provide proof that I wasn't in an accident. My follow-up about the impossibility of proving a negative was terrifyingly incompetent.
How do I handle this? My rates have increased 125%, and there is a ding on my driving history. I'm 44 and have had zero accidents and only three moving violations in 28 years. Thanks.
EDIT: More info under u/Snoo63541's comment. The adjuster claims he tried to contact me, but there are no records of it on my phone, email, or through Informed Delivery. The moment I received the determination letter I was in contact with them, and have been nonstop.
Hi all,
We were involved in a low-speed rear-end collision a couple of years ago. I notified my insurance and we got a no-fault claim in place. We had a contracted agency contact us, and give us a hire car during that time, while our car was getting repaired.
That car hire company contacted us this year and let us know that the third-party insurance company is refusing to pay them for the car hire. They are looking to pursue the third party insurance agency legally for the monies.
They have reached out and asked for details and asked if we would assist in this. Their law firm has reached out to us, and asked us for a form of authority to be signed, which we did.
The law firm has now sent us a Claim Form where my wife and I are the direct claimants, and according to the form, we're claiming direct from the other driver (also listed). I am a bit confused - I would have assumed that this would be between the firms involved, and not the individuals.
What am I missing? Is this normal procedure?
Hi here's basic details:
California
All lights red for over 10 seconds for pedestrians. Mine turns green, guy must still be zooming, smashes me driver side. Dash cam catches it all
Insurance on his side has taken fault.
Car isn't totaled, 15k in repairs after supplement (car is worth about 26k)
His cm or whatever is 35k, my undedinsured is 1 million.
Emergency room was 52k on my insurance.
Pt 3 times a week, mri of head and back, 8+ buldging and herniated discs *only 1 or 2 are 4mm out. No opiods thank God, but muscle relaxers to sleep. Getting epidural for spine in about 3 weeks.
Missing about 9+ hours of work a week for PT and more if a doctors appointment. Use to drive left, but car has been in repairs for about 2 months. Can't really sit for hours in the car anyway.
So I have at least 80 hours lost wages plus 60 days of not driving lyft (average $80 a day with that).
I'm starting to drown in debt because I'm losing work. Should I try to quickly settle or just beg friends for $.
Hi. My mother's husband passed away while he was appealing his rating. She would like to continue his appeal, so she has completed Form 21P-0847 to request to substitute in his place. We are unsure of where to actually send the form. The instruction page states that the form must be mailed and that the address can be found on their directory website. When we click on our state, there are a number of offices and divisions listed, and we are unsure of which one is where we need to submit the form. Does anyone happen to know the specific office where we need to mail this form? TIA!
I got some tips from somebody who's a program claims specialist.
Don't open a new claim if you already had one
Claimants will see various adjustments over the next week or more as claims are being adjusted
They are backlogged from the amount of people who did not receive their last payment before the last program end date
If your claim disappears give it time to update and reappear [everybody remembers what happened last time when most people reapplied and had to wait additional days or weeks for the system to cancel new claims and adjust to old claims]
Certify weeks as normal if possible and if not possible then wait until the next day and try again
If you receive any outstanding issues similar to the issues received in january, do not worry about those, they will automatically be corrected as the days go on. [The only issue which can delay and prevent a claim from moving forward are the verification and i.d me issues]
If you are going to be a new PUA claimant it may take longer to process your claim because they are rolling out updates first for the people who have had open claims already OR those whos claims has been previously exhausted
Unrelated to the PUA program: if you filed taxes and paid taxes on your unemployment funds from 2020 before the new bill was passed they will automatically release the difference in funds to your bank account on file in the weeks coming as they correct your numbers so DO NOT FILE TO AMEND YOUR RETURN.
Good day.
Today claimant has offered to settle a small claim at 13.5% (i.e. Β£13.50 for a Β£100 claim), it looks like they really don't want to go to court. Deadline for document submission is this week.
Hello?
The VEC previously notified you that there was a known issue related to PUA claimants not receiving payment for their additional 11 weeks of PUA effective with the week ending 01/02/21. This issue has been resolved and payment should be issued this week.
Hello Everyone, Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. Question, anyone who was not able to file and got the 0 balance error message during their time slot when claiming weekly benefit for Nj Unemployment. Were you able to file today (Friday) ?
There was an article (link below) stating that the issue might have been fix for some and we may be able to file on Friday for our respective time slot. Mine is not until 11AM.
https://www.northjersey.com/story/money/2021/04/28/nj-unemployment-issues-claiming-benefits-last-week-may-fixed/4869997001/
Please share and let us know if you were able to claim your weekly benefit today.
Thanks and Gold Bless us all.
Upvote for good vibes! Hope we get everything at once.
I've been trying to call them on the phone the past few days about my claim.
I call the number, enter my claimant ID , then it doesn't give me the option to enter my pin. It just says "you selected to speak to an agent" then transfers over to a recording saying all phone lines busy then hangs up. This happens at all times.
I have a friend of mine call who's on unemployment as well right after and it allows them to put in their pin. I called back with mine and just gives me message. So something is going on...

We are also now accepting applications for a Claimant for House Martell of Sunspear. Here is a link to the Sunspear Wiki.
Leef is looking to a player to take up House Martell initially as a Co-Claim to then transition into a full claim so that the claim will be left in good hands and will allow for a smooth transition.
Applications will remain open for at least 48 hours. As a reminder, placeholder comments and any joke/non-application comments will be removed.
