Hi there,
First time in Greece after a long summer season in Switzerland. I'm (25m) here with my girlfriend (22f) and got my permit stolen so can unfortunately not rent a car.
Any locals here wanting to show us around and maybe some cool activity? We'd love to avoid all the touristic tours that are overpriced and overkill IMO. With that in mind, I'm not looking for anything free either, I'll be more than happy to pay a local for something a little out of the ordinary.
Sailing, climbing, hiking, biking, horsing, flying, you name it !

Hoping that someone has made this journey before and can give me some guidance. I was planning on taking a ferry from Crete to Santorini but it looks like the only ferry leaves from Heraklion at 8am. Doing a little more digging, it looks like the the earliest bus from Chania to Heraklion would get me into port at 7:50am. Has anyone had to deal with tight connections using public transportation in Crete before? How reliable are they and how much time would I need to get to port before my scheduled ferry departure? Thanks in advance for any help!
I'm studying abroad in Athens and planning to spend the weekend of Nov 19th-21st in Crete. I'll be staying in Chania, but I really want to go to Heraklion on the 20th to see Knossos and spend the day in the city. I haven't been able to find anything in November in terms of buses (I checked e-KTEL), and all guided tours that I've found don't have dates either. Could it just be that timetables aren't listed until the month of, or can I really not go to Heraklion?
My hotel is offering a private parking for 8β¬/day. I will only be there for a day, does it make sense to pay for it or will I be able to find cheaper/free parking nearby? The hotel is on Gerasimou Vlachou street? Thank you

Help! My plane has been delayed, and I will be arriving during the night. The rental company informed me that they couldn't deliver a car this late. I have to get to Kolymvari, can anyone recommend a cheap taxi service from the airport? Is it best just to find a taxi once there? Never done taxi's in Crete before. Hope someone can help a stressed out traveller.
