I am a 22 years old computer engineering undergrad student from Iran and look forward to practicing my English speaking skill for the IELTS (an English language proficiency test) band 8+. I am interested in Non-fiction Books, Science, Music, Culture, and Cognitive Science and would love to talk to people about these and hear about other stuff that interests them the most! A quick note: my English is not bad in general (I type faster in English than in my native languages!) and I am able to communicate about fairly complex stuff with not much problem.
As mentioned in the title I offer my native languages Persian and Central Kurdish (Sorani).
Throughout the 16th century, Persian Shah Ismail I and his successors deported tens of thousands of Kurds to the Khorasan region, ostensibly to act as a buffer against Central Asian Turkic warlords. How was this Kurdish buffer intended to prevent Turkic incursion, and was it ever used to any effect?

Before/after update. Anyone else confused by their new results? My dad is Bedouin from southern/central Saudi Arabia and my mom is Lebanese with a Kurdish great grandmother. Do any other MENA'S feel like their new results are not as accurate as the previous results?
