Q Fever is a bacterial infection that can be found on cattle stations, and it can have terrible effects like bacterial pneumonia, hepatitis, and permanent disability. The health and safety officer at partner's workplace recommended the vaccine and the GP agreed it makes sense, but both a blood test and a skin test are recommended before giving the vaccine to determine whether the person has antibodies. Partner has been doing research at this cattle station for a decade, and some people are asymptomatic, so testing is appropriate. Trouble is, the regular Sydney labs like DHM don't offer it. Can anyone help identify a hospital lab or perhaps nearby rural community within 100 kms that may offer these services.
