A list of puns related to "Casimir Iv Jagiellon"
Today I've visited Hungarian parliament building in Budapest. There in the assembly hall the main Hungarian dynasties are represented on the wall. From the left there is ΓrpΓ ds coat of arms, then House of Anjou, Hunyadi's coat of arms. Then somewhat strangely Jagiellon are represented not by their coat of arms i.e. the golden double cross on the blue field. They are represented by the polish eagle which was the coat of arms of Piast dynasty. Why is that the case? Is there a story behind it? The guide couldn't give me any answers for that so I'm asking here.

The two year old son of Ulaszlo II of Hungary, has been coronated as the next King of Hungary and Croatia: Lajos II Jagiellon.
In order to secure the coronation, promises to the hungarian nobility of their rights, and that they be allowed to elect a king of their choosing should a future king die without legitimate issue.
The ceremony was delayed and is smaller than anticipated considering the ongoing war. Many important nobles being with the army.
Following the death of the Hussite George Podebrady, the Bohemian nobles elected Vladislav II as King of Bohemia. In some cases (e.g. Hungary electing Vladislav III as protection against ottomans) it makes sense, but I don't seem to understand why the Bohemians would do this.

What an incredible song. The last few lines give me chills just thinking about them, maybe the greatest lyrics dealing with faith and grief Iβve ever heard.
All the glory when he took our place
But he took my shoulders
And he shook my face
And he takes
And he takes
And he takes.
I got to see him play it live on the Carrie and Lowell tour. Iβve never cried at a concert before or since but I wept like a little kid the entire time.
My husband and I really like the name Casimir. But I'm not sure if it's too out there. For some background, we're ex-pats living in the US but originally from Australia, where that name is really uncommon. I'm also trying to figure out what his nickname would be besides from Cas/Caz?
Apparently Dr Harold "Sonny" White (formerly of NASA/EagleWorks) has somewhat accidentally created small warp bubbles while researching Casimir cavities. Here's a "pop-sci" report, the relevant paper is here (it can be downloaded in full in PDF form).
Does anyone else think that "Casimir Pulaski Day" would make a really good short film if done right?
