Mathematical formula for length after 45Β° bevel cut
Is there a way/formula to calculate the length of what a board would be at the bottom of it given the original length and given the angle of the chamfer?
e.g you have 1m board you chamfer perfectly 45Β° off at the edge. The top of the board would still be 1m. The bottom would obviously be shorter depending on the thickness of the board. So a 32mm board would shorter on the bottom end than a 3mm board due to its thickness even though they both go a 45Β° cut. So my question again. How does one calculate what the bottom would be if you know the original length, the thickness and the angle?

How would you make this bevel rip cut? I need to shave just a hair off 50 of these pieces. I'm worried about keeping them flat to the table and tight to the fence. My push sticks and push blocks won't hold them steady. Any ideas, or maybe a sled or holding fixture?

LAJ bevel for a shooting plane?
Hey all, quick question, what bevel angle (primary and secondary) do you use for a LAJ as a shooting plane?
I am getting close to having a set of planes for what I need and I plane to use my LAJ strictly as a shooting plane. Should I keep the angle at 25/30 or is there something else thatβs recommended since this will be primarily used on end grain?
Thanks!

Any cutters that can cut on a "bevel?"
Does anybody know of any cutters that can cut on a bevel? I know of the Zundt cutters, but they are in the half million dollar range. I'm looking for something in the 5 figure range that can do like 4x8 foot size sheets.
I want to be able to cut vinyl with a 45 degree cut on the edge using a drag knife cutter.
