has anyone read the book? did you root for becky sharp too? i feel like her character's journey will be sour (200 pages in) but with her cunning, i'd like to think she can manage

Denna really reminds me of Becky Sharp from Vanity Fair by Thackeray. I think the BBC character is how I see her in my head. (Check it out on Amazon.)

I really liked her! She's making it happen in a society with no advantages. I want a narrative from her perspective.

In the flash season 4 episode 3, the main meta was named becky sharpe. At this point the name sharpe also was used in legends for ava, do these 2 characters have an conection or is it just an fault the show runners of the flash made?

Something that I noticed during the flashback scene with Becky Sharpe when she got on the bus, is that there was approximately only 4 other people on the bus! It did look pretty empty when she was finding her seat. We had close ups of 3 other people on the bus, a dark haired female, Kilgore and another man. I'm taking the bus driver to be the other person. Anyways the seats behind them looked really empty, we didn't actually get a glimpse of other people being on the bus.

I was originally thinking that more people got on the bus after she got on, to make up the supposed 12 heat signatures, but there was a flash of light from the Speedstorm hole, pretty much 5 seconds after she sat down. Maybe they just haven't cast the full list of 12 people yet so that's why so little was shown.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Before you start reading, please keep in mind that this is quite a loooong post, and so if this isn't your cup of tea I apologise. There is so much to discuss and dissect, and I spent every minute since the video's release looking all the following information up and putting it together.

In her recent video, Big Al explains that the reason she doesn't think she's a narcissist is because she has met other people who she claims are narcissists and she "didn't match this type of energy". As ridiculous as that statement is, since you don't necessarily need to share someone's "energy" in order to be akin to them, there are reasons with examples that disprove Big Al's unsubstantiated claims.

Al also mentions that she acknowledges the fact that she does have narcissistic traits, and says that you can have narcissistic traits without being a narcissist. This is false. Big Al is confusing narcissism with NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder), and thus she fails to see that it doesn't actually matter whether or not someone has NPD, they can still be a narcissist, as the two are not mutually exclusive.

You guys are right, a person who is a narcissist will probably never say that they are. However, a person who isn't a narcissist will also probably say they aren't a narcissist. That alone isn't grounds for telling whether or not she is a narcissist. To illustrate this, I have gathered some signs of narcissism along with real-life examples of our gorl's behaviour to help paint a more rounded and comprehensive picture.

Exhibit A:

A narcissist will often have a grandiose sense of self-importance, which is the defining characteristic of narcissism. Gandiosity, by definition, is an unrealistic sense of superiority. Narcissists believe they are unique and can only be understood by people who are like them. Narcissists believe that they’re better than everyone else and expect recognition as such—even when they’ve done nothing to earn it. They will often exaggerate or outright lie about their achievements, talents, and contributions. Often when narcs talk about work or relationships, all you’ll hear is how great they are, and how they make everyone's lives better by simply being in them.

Big Al has always been vocal about how "you guise" don’t really understand or realise things about her when she explains herself in any of these "addressing rumors" videos. To her, her audience just don't get her or her actions,

She gets labelled as ST because she is ‘status obsessed’ but tbh it was the 1800’s you were either status obsessed or you died poor. I think these behaviours are due to the historical context, that if you were a woman, you were either born into wealth, married it or died. Context is relevant.
