A list of puns related to "Audio Mixing"
What is then main difference between speakers used in a studio vs a home set up. The best brands are different depending what your set up is used for. The main thing i think about is home set up probably prefer passive speakers for the upgradability and customization. While active speakers are more convenient in a studio setting (I.guess?) But why have I never heard of elac in the studio and rokite at home? And why can't a company that makes good passive speakers also create great actives ones? Is passive vs active even the main concern?
Add.on question: is there a undisputed best hifi system or studio monitor? Or is it mainly preference? As in know your speakers very well .
Essentially like zoom screen share but with good quality audio. Audio quality is most important and Video is required just as a reference. Latency would not be a problem. This would be for remote mixing sessions.
Looking for advice on equipment to mix receive audio from multiple sources into both headphones or a speaker. I have looked at mixers such as the Behringer and the Moukey but I'm not 100% certain they will do what I want.
I want to take rx audio from 2 radios, a scanner, and my computer and mix them and output to my headphones, or an external speaker. I would like the ability to choose between the headphones, or the speaker. While wearing headphones I would also like to be able to take two sources of interest and put one into the left ear, and the other into the right, while muting, or turning down the other sources.
I am more of a listener, than a talker, so routing audio in through a mic isn't a concern for me so wouldn't use the device for this.
Any advice is appreciated? Looking to spend about $100 CAD (for the device, understanding cables etc will cost as well) but can go up a little if it gives me what I want.

I'm watching the series for the first time and managed to watch a few episodes on Hulu before it got pulled, and GOOD LORD, the sound mixing on Paramount+ is messed up. Dialogue is too soft and sound effects are too loud. It's immediately obvious in the opening narration where "Space the final frontier..." basically sounds like an echoed whisper instead of a spoken sentence. Something's truly messed up with this show on the service. Is there anything that can be done to fix this given it's the only way to stream the show now?
Jerma PLEASE turn the games UP and your voice DOWN, you're literally peaking the hell out of your mic on the Hitman stream and it's impossible to hear the games in most of your other streams because to have the game at an audible level means having your voice BLASTING uncomfortably loudly. Seriously can someone please tell him and/or help him get his stuff set up correctly (like Vinny Vinesauce's streams)? He's impossible to listen to on anything but shitty speakers that compress the hell out of everything and cut low end.
Hello hello!
TL:DR: I need advise on how to live podcast 2 or more podcasters from different locations, + adding music and controlling volume balancing live.
Now, for those who want to read:
We've been streaming a live podcast called "Γrase una vez un escritor" for a little over a year (now we are on hiatus). It is basically a talk show, streamed live via Twitch, with some background music. Until now we were doing it using Discord + a Discord App called "Rythm", that would play music from youtube or spotify as a sepparate channel. Plus, another bot called "Craig" would record each audio channel in a different audio file, making it very convenient for post-stream editing before publishing the episode.
However, we have two problems:
The podcast is hosted by two podcasters located in different cities, plus some guests and interviews. We want to keep streaming live.
Thank you all in advance :)
I know, for example, a HQ audio file would be a finished, mixed song to send to the customer. And when I hover over project file it reads "Deliver the project's original audio track to your buyer" but I'm still confused on what that means exactly.
Just saw 2021 in Imax. It was incredible. Kept catching myself thinking "damn, this is beautiful" throughout it. Was shocked to find out it was 2.5hrs when I left the theater because it felt too short. But one thing bothered me.
Multiple important scenes, which I wont mention for spoilers, seemed to have terrible mixing. There were atleast four scenes I can remember where I caught about one in five words. And I only knew what they were saying because I religiously watched/read all other dune content. Did anyone else have a similar issue?
I dont think it was my theater either because half the movie was crystal clear in comparison, even during loud action scenes.
Iβve been playing on war tapes since the game released and the audio is just so quiet. It doesnβt emphasize chaos or explosions. Decided to switch it to normal and noticed a major audio improvement in sound itself.
Localization Audio still sounds like it needs work
I use a relatively generic stereo headset for gaming, and on most games I just set the audio mix to βHeadphonesβ and forget about it, but on Division 2 everything except βTV Speakersβ sounds very tinny, muffled, and over all weird. Any suggestions? Am I understanding the settings wrong?
Iβve been trying to get my clicks to be audible in my recordings using my headset mic, but the mixing is always either way too loud with the music, making the clicks barely audible, or way too loud with the mic, making it sound like Iβm in a mall or something. Anybody have any suggestions to make my recordings not sound like shit?
Just a doubt of a beginner bedroom producer.
Idk if this is just me. But anyone else feel likes Charlie's audio mixing is weird? His audio is always like 3x louder than the videos he tends to watch. So when watching his videos (YouTube specifically) I always have to adjust my volume so I can try to hear what he's watching but not have my ears blown out by his audio.
I've just started recording music at home and I know almost nothing!
I'm looking for a cheap audio interface (preferably under $100, but I would consider $100-$200) to simply plug in my electric guitar and bass. The mic I have is a USB mic so I don't need anything fancy as far as a mic input goes because I won't use it. I've looked around at different interfaces myself but I don't know if they're all guaranteed to work with every DAW or how to figure out if it's compatible (I am using Cakewalk on Windows currently).
As far as recording goes, I am at a loss on how to successfully record a drumset. I just have the one USB mic and I don't want to invest a ton of money in more mics. What's the best process to record a set with just one mic? How does that effect how it gets mixed?
Any help with these things would be appreciated, or even just basic tips on recording/mixing. Thanks!
My Pro Tools audio is messed up due to me only having a usb mic. I decided to download a digital audio interface called voicemeeter potato, but i still have problems with not hearing playback even after correctly setting up my output. Would their be any downsides to me recording vocals into audacity and then mixing in pro tools. I dont make my own instrumentals and i only want to use pro tools to mix my vocals. Would using audacity for recording have any downsides?
I am SO SICK of adjusting the volume EVERY SINGLE TIME when music starts playing. The music is always so damn loud. It's really annoying. It's supposed to be all in a pleasant volume, so you can just sit back and enjoy your movie without having to adjust the volume all the time
Like seriously, it's not that hard. You're supposed to be a professional studio and you can't even do a basic task right. What are you paying your people for, if not proper volume mixing?
My Father in Law is hanging out with a bar band and sometimes mixes rehearsals and back yard shows with their Ipad mixer. A soundcraft ui24. He is having fun and I'd like to encourage him to continue to improve his skills. We chat sometimes and he asks good questions that are at a beginner level. I'm hoping to buy him the sound reinforcement handbook as well but.... I find it dry and no fun. The tone in that book is like an exhasperated sigh at the beginning of every sentence with "look, dummy" at the top of many paragraphs.
For his second book, he gets the yamaha. For his first... would Mixing Live Sound be a good choice?
I heard about reaper and audacity . I'm a beginner and I'm willing to learn.

When mixing 2 or more audio inputs, is the amplitude of the audio signal on the output larger than the input sources? Minus the preamp circuit. I read that a concert mixer can have 100 inputs and 2 outputs for the left and right speakers.
I know that a Piezoelectric disk acts like a buzzer or a microphone and that if you squeeze one with your fingers you can get at least 1 volt ac and light a led for a second. So how would 9 of these 1volt ac pulses be mixed together to get the meter to see 9 volts?
