My assumption wasn't her disliking ARTPOP, I'm glad she is able to appreciate the record. It was more about how the media went after her when ARTPOP under-performed.
Many thought she was finished, Akon was already cancelling her, you had Television hosts calling the album "Artflop" and it wasn't a positive period. Thankfully, what saved her was her decision to try acting which led to "American Horror Story: Hotel" and her unforgettable performance at the Academy Awards. Afterwards, her career got a major boost and she's never stopped.
Some say Lady Gaga disliked the album for not performing on the charts which is not true. ARTPOP still went Gold, the singles (except for G.U.Y.) charted well and we must not forget "Joanne" sold less and Lady Gaga treasures it. It was more about how she was bullied by the media.
Ok so the Little Monster in me woke up at 3 am and relentlessly thought about idols I think would love Gaga's best album (fight the wall if you disagree). I didn't really have a criteria for this, I just ranted about my thoughts on twitter lol. Here's the list I made up:
- RM of BTS - Artpop is for intellectuals, RM is an intellectual. I personally think he would've been one of the few people who would have appreciated this record when it first came out. "Come to me, with all your subtext and fantasy" gives me Namjoon vibes
- Tiffany of Girls' Generation - I think we all know that she's a huge Gaga stan and of course she would love this record.
- Key of Shinee - Artpop is a flamboyant body of work, Key is a flamboyant person in general. I feel like his aesthetic and vibe fits ARTPOP a lot, in fact any Gaga album does but this one fits him the most out of all of her albums (along with Born this way of course).
- Taehyung of BTS - I feel like his favorite Gaga album would be cheek to cheek lol but I imagine him developing an interest for this. Taehyung is a big fan of art, admiring artists like Van Gogh and ARTPOP is well, the intersection of art and pop which is his two passions. I feel like he would have a lot of respect and deep appreciation for this album.

Hey everyone! I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have a spare copy of ARTPOP on vinyl with Do what u want? I’ve started collecting vinyl and ARTPOP benign my favorite album I want the original, but these prices are OUTRAGEOUS. I don’t mind purchasing one for a fair price, but $500-$600 from scalpers who aren’t even going to listen to the album and are selling it just to make money is kind of ridiculous. If anyone could help me out i would appreciate it!
I don't know the majority of people's stance here, but i stand by what I said. Every song is so unique and relistenable and incredible in every way (except Jewels n drugs).
It's an album I constantly return to because I never get tired of it. Obviously each album is incredible in it's own right but Artpop is god tier.
Whenever I listen to a song from ARTPOP, I think to myself "wait this should become a single"
ALL songs from ARTPOP are just so well produced its fucking insame (Jewels and drugs included)
Born This Way, Chromatica, Joanne also had tons of "single potential" in my opinion, but ARTPOP is just out of this world.
it's a bit tricky because ARTPOP has been rereleased without the song "Do What U Want", but i'm in search for ARTPOP with DWUW on it or for the urban outfitters exclusive. message me if selling! huge gaga fan :^)
Alright everyone I just realized something. Artpop is now not as underrated, which is on all accounts amazing as it is so good. However, another album of Lady Gaga's is underrated I think. The album I'm talking about is "The Fame". This is Gaga's first album, although it's only known for its singles and it being her first album. No one really appreciates all the songs in the album like they should. Just Dance, Love Game, Paparazzi, and Poker Face are all amazing songs. Although some of the best songs get overlooked. I mean one of the best songs, Money Honey, is never seen in the top 5 of most lists and I would like to know why.
This album is full of hits yet people only listen to it for the first four songs. Of course, there are two "bad" songs on the album such as Starstruck and Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say). Besides that though the whole album is a masterpiece. What do you guys think?
Joanne is also underrated, however, I believe that The Fame is far better than Joanne.

Little Monster redditors, we need your help!
On the 1st of April DJWS posted a photo to instagram teasing TEA from ARTPOP Act II. It was an April fools joke of course, however DJWS spoke to a few fans regarding ARTPOP Act II and he said to 'petition Gaga on that one'. So we did. He said to get the petition to 10K and he would send it to Gaga.
The petition reached 10K, we contacted DJWS again and we confirmed he had sent a text to Gaga about the petition and ARTPOP Act II. He also posted a long heartfelt message on Instagram stating his love for ARTPOP, Gaga and LMs. He wants us to hear the unreleased ARTPOP tracks and also create new music with Gaga.
Interscope are also aware of the petition and are watching it closely. News articles have started to come out regarding the petition too.
The petition is at 32k+ now and is still climbing as we speak, although it has seemed to slow this last 24hrs... so this is where we need your help.
To clarify, the reason of this petition is NOT to force Gaga into releasing ARTPOP Act II, but to show Gaga, her team and label just how much Little Monsters still love and care for ARTPOP.

I have noticed that people haven't been talking about ARTPOP ACT II lately in recent months. It seems as if everyone has forgotten about it in lieu of Lady Gaga postponing her Chromatica Ball Tour and Mother Monster announcing a 10th Anniversary Edition of BTW (Not that I'm against all of this. I'm perfectly fine with this news about BTW and Chromatica!). So let's bring the subject back to light! Let's all sign the petition for ARTPOP ACT II so she can release it! Obviously we all want to hear it, but Lady Gaga went through some really hard times during this era, and decided not release it for many reasons. ARTPOP was a nr.1 selling album so it's not like she felt like "Nobody wants to hear it anyways."
At this point it's almost as if we're forcing her to release the album, even though she mad the decision long time ago to NOT release it. It's ultimately her choice. But at the end of the day there's nothing wrong with showing love for the album, but where do you guys draw the line?

Since Born This Way is getting a 10th Year Anniversary Edition this week Friday, I've been thinking: if BTW is getting a 10th Year Anniversary Edition this year, would ARTPOP also be getting a 10th year Anniversary Edition in 2023, and if so, what would it be like? I would like to know what your guys' ideas would be! My idea is that it would have a special album cover and some new tracks most likely. What are your ideas guys?
