Friend of the Week #187: Arabian Oryx!

The Arabian Oryx is an antelope native to the Arabian peninsula. They're the smallest of the Oryx genus. They're around a meter tall at the shoulders and weigh 70 kilograms. They have very long horns. Most notably, their body is white with brown legs and brown face markings. They live in deserts and steppes. They can sense impending rain from far away and quickly move to eat the freshly grown vegetation.

During the day, Arabian Oryxes rest in the shade. They live in herds of often not more than 10 members and they're generally not aggressive. Hierarchies are established through posturing displays, so their horns are rarely used against each other within the herd, but against intruders.

The Arabian Oryx were originally found from Sinai (Egypt) to Iraq and almost all of the Arabian Peninsula. However, they were hunted extensively in the 19th und 20th century to the point they were declared extinct in the wild in 1972. Thankfully, a decade earlier the Fauna and Flora Presevervation Society of London as well as the Phoenix Zoo started breeding the animals with the help of the WWF. The Phoenix Zoo had only 9 Oryxes at the time but successfully managed to breed them and send them to other zoos to create more herds. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Father of the nation of the United Arab Emirates, founded the Al Ain Zoo particularly out of concern for the wildlife to conserve, protect and breed ungulates. The number of Oryxes held in captivity had already increased enough by 1980 that reintroductions began in Oman, Saudi Arabia and Israel. In 2011 the Arabian Oryx became the first animal to be elevated to the "vulnerable" status, the third lowest, after previously being extinct in the wild. There are now an estimated 1,200 animals in the wild and another 6,000 in captivity.

Kemono Friends' Arabian Oryx appeared in all Kemono Friends media to date, bar the stage plays. In the anime she appeared as part of Lions bodyguards alongside Aurochs. In Pavilion she appears mostly in the desert standingly riding the [U

The Arabian oryx or white oryx (Oryx leucoryx) is one of wildlife's conservation success stories. It went extinct in the wild in 1972 due to overhunting but was reintroduced due to captive breeding programs. They're currently about 1,200 in the wild and about 6,000 in captivity.

Arabian Oryx Antelopes Not Eating

I've been playing the North American animal reserve challenge, and I built a Savannah habitat with antelope items, placed in some Arabian Oryx Antelopes and none of them will eat, so they keep getting confiscated. They have food, I've placed food in all the slots and they will register to eat. Anyone know how to fix this?
