A list of puns related to "Amenities"
I have been noticing a pretty disturbing phenomenon at various places in America. Near an amenity like public beach or park, sometimes the local government will do 3 things:
This trifecta results in public money going to maintain roads and an amenity, but there being almost no access to that amenity for any reasonably broad definition of "the public." I feel like the more I look at how local government operates in America, the more blatently corrupt absues of power I see.
***Disclaimer I am a resident and do not work for Twin Towers
Twin Towers offers cat sitting included in your pet rent each month. So for $35/month/cat I can go on vacation, work trips, etc. without having to look and book someone to take care of them. It is going to be near impossible to move out of here because this amenity is so useful. I have asked at other apartment complexes that charge $75/pet and they acted like I had 3 heads. I can't believe that more places are not offering this service as part of the fee for working professionals.
I really want to see this amenity normalized in the DMV area
For this and so many other reasons, I love this apartment complex 10/10

Hi, Iβm doing some very early stage research around potential places to live. Me, my partner and daughter are looking to move in around 12-18 months and are exploring our options. We want to move out of the city, though whether thatβs 20 miles or 200 miles weβre undecided. Her parents are at retirement age and also looking to potentially relocate, and fantasise over remote places in Scotland. We both love the outdoors, however being in our 30βs like the idea of not being cut off entirely from local restaurants, leisure facilities etc. Weβll be looking for somewhere with 3-4 bedrooms for around Β£225000 - Β£250000(ish).
We both place more importance on being somewhere with more natural beauty than the more urban, city like places that weβve both lived our whole lives however. Scotland seems to potentially possess the best of both worlds, though weβve no idea what places to consider given how vast Scotland is. Nearer to the coast would be preferred.
I work in the emergency services and there are transfer opportunities available for me throughout most of the UK, so for me finding a job shouldnβt be too big of an issue.
Any advice or considerations from people on this sub would be much appreciated!
For context I live in nyc and itβs not common in newer buildings (and obviously non existent in older ones)
I myself have been an atheist for about 3 months. I am almost ashamed to say I was a christain. I found the atheism subreddit one day before I actually made an account, and it opened my eyes to many things. One of them being: atheists don't care what your beliefs are, we just don't want folks to push them on us. I hate when people say I'm going to hell because of my lack-there-of-faith. That in itself is push your religion! Plus atheism doesn't promote intolerance, justification of slavery, the mutilation of children, or a hell you go to for not following YOUR faith. We simply want religious fanatics(and thats of any faith) to just back the fuck up and stay in church. Can I get amen!? (pun intended)
I can't find online how to get amenities for my city. Can someone please help in semi simple terms. Much appreciated!
I know in normal times, it's a great airport with lots to do... but I'm thinking of a 16-hour layover (in late May), if I'm just sitting there in an isolated terminal that would be terrible lol
Hi! Iβve been scoping the internet, and found some simple plans for building a couple basic appliances and amenities.

Hi Reddit. I'm a guest staying in a tropical area AirBnB with a broken A/C.
We have a wall unit A/C that froze solid after running at reasonable temps (68+) for several nights, we've had to work on thawing it just so the handyman can access the inside, and I'm not sure what to do or ask for now that this has become an ongoing problem, and will likely resurface based on past identical issues for this unit's A/C. Appreciate any advice you can give on what I should do.
Wife noticed dripping, we contacted the host who sent over their (very nice!) handyman the next morning. Because everything was frozen, we were told to wait until it thaws out, however we'd already left it for 12+ hours overnight and it already hadn't thawed. Handyman mentioned using a blow drier to speed up the thawing, but host had none and we hadn't brought one. Since this is the only A/C capable of cooling the unit and temps are 80+ and very humid, we wanted to get it fixed ASAP, so went to the store and bought a cheap hairdryer to try and melt the block of ice in the unit so handyman could get into it. Handyman was able to get it partially disassembled after wife and I took turns melting the ice for 4 hours, but still some ice near the top so had to keep working on it wait for him to come back tomorrow. Advice again was "just leave it" but the unit was actively re-freezing while turned off. We spent another 3 hours on it this morning (got up at 6am), since it refroze overnight and I'm now waiting for the Handyman to come take a look. This is the second time the unit has had this problem, the first time being 2 months ago, mentioned by both the handyman and last AirBnB review, last time was due to gunk getting into the condensate drain, which is likely the cause this time around.
We have over a month left in our stay and at this point I'm genuinely unsure what to do or ask for. Handyman has tried to help us but the reality is we've spent 2 nights without A/C and spent the bulk of our time throughout dealing with the thawing just to open and inspect the dang thing. Our options at this point are basically ask for an HVAC technician, ask for a new A/C or a portable one that's more reliable, and/or just keep dealing with the thawing until handyman can fix it.
Host has not been great at communicating, and I think asking for a refund or something like that might hurt our chances working with them for the remainder of our stay. Should I tell AirBnB and only ask for it at the end? Even with ho

I removed my cryptocurrencies from the wallet and moved them to coinbase to be able to sell them more quickly.
I realized that since January I have been constantly looking at the phone to see the market trend, I watch videos and listen to podcasts almost continuously and I don't sleep as well as I used to, I often wake up during the night especially in dip moments.
I started breathing again just now when i saw the last pump and I'm thinking of slowing down a little with crypto.
So i'm asking if you have noticed these problems too and how you deal with them.
Take care.
Hello! I just working on a more modern metropolitan setting for an upcoming game I'll be running. Something I've had a lot of fun with is explaining the mundane aspects of our modern world within the 5e magic system to make them fantastical.
These are just some examples and I'd love to hear anyone else's ideas!
Like many others in this thread, my husband and I are moving to StamfordβI just got a job downtown.
Weβve focused our apartment search to just those with basketball courts, which are TGM Anchor Point, ParcGrove, and the Westcott. Unfortunately, we visited two in person and the properties seem pretty run-down in comparison to other newer options in Harbor Point and Downtown.
Are there any public-use indoor and outdoor courts for basketball? And do they have any apartment complexes nearby? I did a google search and found a lot of kids programs but not so much for adults.
As a result of a comment thread I saw on this sub, I think it might be useful to explain just how amenities work in Civilization 6. (Disclaimer: My knowledge applies primarily to the base game, I am not sure if either of the expansions change any of what follows)
- What are amenities?
Amenities are what determines the happiness of the citizens in your cities.
- How many amenities does each city need?
The general formula for required amenities is Amenities = (Population/2) - 1
(rounded up)
This means that the first two citizens in a city to not require an amenity, the third will require 1, then every 2 beyond that will require an additional amenity.
- What does this required amenities number mean?
This is the number that a city requires to be content. An excess or lack of amenities have certain effects, as explained here by the wiki:
- How do I get amenities?
There are a few different ways to accomplish this, the first and easiest is luxury resources.
Luxury resources are easy sources of contentment for your people. By improving a luxury resource, you then gain one of that resource. Luxury resources automatically provide +1 amenity to 4 cities in your civilization that need it the most. Here is the MOST important part:
Duplicates of luxury resources do not provide additional amenities
This means that if Civ #1 has 2 Ivory re
