A list of puns related to "Alexander Ovechkin"
With their two careers so intertwined and often compared, it's interesting to see Crosby overtake Ovechkin in points this late into their still active careers.
Crosby once briefly held the lead over Ovechkin during their second season in the NHL, but an ankle injury to Crosby the following season allowed Ovechkin to take over and hold the lead for 13 years 11 years.
As /u/Oneanimal1993 pointed out:
>Not quite true, Sid overtook Ovi a couple years ago but after he missed half the season last year Ovi overtook him again. But it was still a long stretch, and crazy to imagine both how much time Crosby's lost to injury and how much of a machine Ovi's been since entering the league (this recent 4 game stretch he missed was his most time missed due to injury since 2009).

Crosby potentially can have 600 goals and 1000+ assists.
Ovechkin potentially can have 800+ goals and 700 assists.
Itβs amazing that these two came on the scene post lockout and did what they did.
Where do you think they land on the list?

Just absolutely dominant in shots fired his entire career. Since he joined the league he's never finished worse than 5th in shots. 8 of the top 10 shots fired in a season since 2005 belong to Ovechkin and all the top 7 spots are Ovechkin seasons. http://www.nhl.com/stats/skaters?aggregate=0&reportType=season&seasonFrom=20052006&seasonTo=20192020&gameType=2&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=shots&page=0&pageSize=50
All time Ovechkin (08-09) has the 2nd most shots in a season behind Phil Esposito in (70-71) and 3 appearances in the top 10. Also the only player on list that is from after 2000. http://www.nhl.com/stats/skaters?aggregate=0&reportType=season&seasonFrom=19171918&seasonTo=20192020&gameType=2&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=shots&page=0&pageSize=50
He's 3rd all time in career shots with 5483. Next up is Jagr with 5637 which he might get this year. Bourque is first at 6209 which will take him a few years. http://www.nhl.com/stats/skaters?reportType=season&seasonFrom=19171918&seasonTo=20192020&gameType=2&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=shots&page=0&pageSize=50
What an absolute unit.
Hello again from us at Fanatics. We're always trying to bring fans closer to the players that they love and the Fanatics AMA Series continues today with Lars Eller and Alexander Ovechkin from the Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals.
Lars has a physical therapy session after practice today so our schedule is tentative but the plan is for Lars to start answering questions at 4pm EST and Alex will be answering at 6pm EST. There's also a chance that the players will be signing and answering your questions at the same time, so please indicate at the beginning of your question if it's specifically for Lars or Alex (or both).
Throw our /u/Fanatics_Offical page on Reddit a follow to get the latest on AMA announcements and behind the scenes videos from AMAs (video from this AMA coming soon!).
Edit: Lars is in the building!
Edit 2: That's a wrap for Eller and Ovi! Thanks for the entertaining questions and we will see you next time, r/hockey!
