You are able to give "on the fly" proofs or sources in a discussion, debate, or interaction. This is limited to the knowledge of what mankind has written or typed and cannot be false in the sense of man's knowledge.

So the prosecution has requested to adduce my friend's evidence of bad character, who has a previous conviction, what is the test for the admissibility of that evidence? Does s.100(1) of the CJA 2003 apply? For context, they have possession of an offensive weapon charge however their previous conviction was for theft. I've been researching but I just want to know what is the test for the admissibility of such evidence. This evidence will be adduced via gateway (d). I found the test for the admissibility of a non-defendant's character evidence under s.100 but does it apply for the defendant too?

Also, does this not impede on Article 6 of the ECHR and HRA 1998, the right to a fair trial on the ground that the evidence of bad character would be prejudicial as it is risking the impartially of the jury under art.6 (1), because of the prejudicial impact of the evidence?

The funeral director was asking us what we think Mum should wear in her casket.

Mum always loved to wear sarongs (fabric wraps that go around the torso and drape downward a bit like a long skirt would), so my uncle suggested that she wear a sarong in there.

The funeral director looked a bit confused, as did some of our family members, to which my uncle added:

"What's sarong with that?"

I started laughing like an idiot. He was proud of it too. The funeral director was rather shocked. We assured her, and our more proper relatives, that Mum would've absolutely loved the joke (which is very true).

His delivery was perfect. I'll never forget the risk he took. We sometimes recall the moment as a way help cushion the blows of the grieving process.

BE IT ENACTED by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

PART 1NATIONAL CYCLE HIRE SCHEME

1 National Cycle Hire Scheme

(1) The National Cycle Hire Scheme shall be established in this section.

(2) The aims of this Part are the following—

>(a) to establish the framework of the National Cycle Hire Scheme; and
(b) to provide the necessary measures to ensure the smooth operation of the scheme.

2 Application of the Scheme

(1) The National Cycle Hire Scheme shall apply to towns and cities in the United Kingdom as laid out in Schedule 1.

(2) The Secretary of State may, by statutory instrument, add towns and cities to Schedule 1.

3 Bicycles and bicycle docking stations

(1) Bicycle docking stations shall be installed in locations across the areas where the scheme is applied under Schedule 1 of this Act.

4 Registration and hiring

(1) If a person wants to hire a bicycle at a bicycle docking station, the person must—

I've answered this question twice, now, so making a post to share with people who are searching in the future. :)

This is a topic I’ve wondered about myself. I haven’t found any specific documentation about it, but I’m an Aquarius Sun and Mercury, so I like seeking patterns. Here’s what I’ve been able to piece together:

Go back far enough in time and there were only 10 signs of the Zodiac: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo-Scorpio (as one sign) Libra, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces. As human technology increased and our ability to observe and understand the heavens, geometry, and science improved, Virgo-Scorpio Libra was split into the three signs of Virgo, Libra, and Scorpio.

Metaphorically speaking, Virgo-Scorpio Libra represented the transit of the soul in the underworld. By splitting the signs, the journey of the Sun (or our souls) is split into three legs of the journey in the underground.

[edit: Something else interesting to point out is that Virgo is the second largest constellation, the largest constellation in the Zodiac, and one of only two signs (with opposing sign Pisces) where the "celestial equator intersects with the ecliptic." There's a fitting symbolism that Virgo and Pisces create a kind of scale where earth meets heaven (in the Zodiac). And we can hypothesize the kind of cultural and spiritual significance given to the largest of the signs.]

The “virgin” Virgo was symbolic of Isis responding to the death of Osiris (the Sun), her husband and co-ruler. This is when the Sun is in the “grave” or “Hades” in the symbolic of the journey of the Sun god “Ra” around the Zodiac. In other words, Virgo comes to represent the arrival of the soul at “duat,” the underworld of ancient Egypt, which Osiris ruled over. The soul is welcomed by Anubis and ushered through the underworld (a spiritual womb).
