A list of puns related to "Winter white dwarf hamster"
My winter white dwarf hamster has become quite overweight. I took him to the vet in October, this year and he weighed 36 grams. Today I took his weight, and he weighed 50 grams. Is that even possible? I took his weight with a kitchen scale, it should work since I got it as a Christmas gift. How can I get him to lose weight? I read that feeding a pellet only diet should do the trick, and also by not giving him any sugary treats and seeds in moderation. Is the versale laga complete hamster food suitable for dwarf hamsters? Could someone help me with this?
Hi guys! I just wanna ask those that have experience owning either Roborovski or winter white hamster, which of the two is easy to tame? Iβm planning on getting a new hamster, but Robo and wwh are only the hamster breed that is ready for rehoming around our area.
Also, if you have any tips for taming, Iβll be happy to hear them.

One of my hamsters (female) just died this morning leaving the other (male) alone. Both were past a month old by this post.
If I were to introduce him to a new one can I just put them like, straight away in the cage or there's some steps that I need to follow?
Just seeking advice and/or tips. I work for a chain pet store and while we are suppose to only sell males, we received a female on accident who was pregnant. She just gave birth today and I've been researching the best way to care for mom and babies, but I'm getting a lot of mixed answers. I know that we should not touch the babies and to limit the mother's stress. But I'm just wondering... about how long until we can separate the babies from mom? Is there anything I need to add to the mother's diet while she is nursing? I'm pretty familiar with hamster care, I adopted a hydrocephalic syrian hamster earlier this year, but never had experience with pregnant hammies or babies in my three years working in pet stores. We gave her enough food and lots of bedding so she can nest, before I left work today everyone was doing well. Any additional advice is appreciated!
I recently bought some dwarf hamsters but I dont trust the seller he told me they were russian but the thing is he didnt know the age of the hamster and the gender so ya thats why I wanna know the differences and I have seen plenty of sellers sell winter white dwarf hamsters which are white I also live in a tropical country yaa.. I googled about it said winter whites change colour to white in cold climates????
I have been looking for a big cage for my hamster with at least six inches of height on the base! I heard Kaytee cages are big but from what Iβve seen they are far too small. Does anyone know of a big cage with smaller bar spacing that I could use for my daughters winter white dwarf hamster?
I just want my boy to be healthy. His name is Hamilton and I love him. This is my first time owning a hamster, and I don't wanna throw away my shot. β
Hamsters might be one of the most misunderstood pets you'll find. Just because they're small and relatively low maintenance people don't put a lot of attention into researching what's good for them. Young children often get a hamster as a first pet. However, hamsters are not suitable for young children. The amount of "Oh she forgot to feed the hamster now it's dead" stories are appalling. People often cage their hamsters too small, use wrong materials or toys that cause stress to these little creatures. In this post, I'll try to keep you informed about how to take care of a hamster, what you need to keep one, etc. This post is dedicated to the winter white dwarf hamster note that other breeds may need other requirements.

Winter white dwarf hamsters are solitary creatures. It is strongly advised to keep them solitary. In the wild, they only live together in loose colonies for reproduction. They don't have a "play buddy". Keeping hamsters yourself takes this need away so they're perfectly (if not more) happy to be kept solitary! Keeping hamsters in pair might even result in the death of one or both your hamsters as they can become territorial and fight to the death. It's not something you would like to see at all!
No hamster should be kept together. Even if you think they're happy together, keeping dwarfs in groups is not natural and takes time off their lifespan.
Even if your hamsters don't fight, having a cagemate is very stressful. Since it is not natural and hamsters are solitary by nature, having another animal with them increases their ambient stress. When under stress for a long period of time, rodents' immune system may weaken and may fall victim to stress-induced illnesses. They become susceptible to more diseases and illnesses, and if left in this state of stress, their lifespan is shortened greatly due to the effect on their bodies. It also encourages stress behaviors such as bar chewing, climbing, cage aggression, etc.
Hamsters are kept in so-called cages or how I like to call it enclosure. It protects your hamster from the dangers in your house, prevents you from stepping on them, and overall to give the hamster his/her personal space fit for their needs. Don't buy small cages though! The hamster may be small but they need a lot of running space and depth to make tunn
... keep reading on reddit β‘Hi all! I'm looking to possibly get a winter white dwarf hamster. I've only ever owned mice before and I know they are MUCH different. What is the difference between males and females of this species? What kind of toys is ok to have in their cage? Do they like to chew a lot? If so, is a plastic bin cage ok for them? Also, does anybody know of any breeders in the Los Angeles area? Thank you!!
Hey so I got my hamster for my bday last wendsday(first ever hamster). I been trying to tame her and when I told put my hand in her cage she will bite my hand, not in like a mean way and sometimes she will keep biting and nibbling. I tried washing my hands to removed the scent of food off my hands but she still does it. She does it whenever I have food in my hand and even without. She does eat my hand tho if I hold it with my fingers.
Just joined this page! But i just got a Dwarf hamster and his name is Humphrey he is a Winter White Djungarian Hamster. My brother and I were at Petco 2 weekends ago and Humphrey along with one other hamster were about the only pets they had left. I was going to get both but the person at the store advised that they could become aggressive if kept together when they were older. So we decided to take just one home. He is super friendly and doesnβt mind being held at all and he loves his play time in the hamster ball that we picked up last weekend for him and thankfully the other hamster that was there when we went back had gone to a home! I used to have hamsters all the time when I was younger so itβs been a few years since Iβve had one as a pet but this is the first time Iβve had a dwarf hamster and I can say he is much friendlier than the other breeds I had before. Hoping to find some tips on this page and see what kind of toys and set ups you all have for your dwarf hamsters!
