Does anyone know of any good books or videos that show visualizations of the different energies of taijiquan?
Ideally I can import a PDF, PNG, JPEG, etc as the base, then have data driven fields for tooltip info like region name, dates associated, and progress. I could define the regions as a SVG or something, not sure how that'd work...
gonna be honest, i would love to do game design. i know in terms of career, it’s probably not as good of an idea as working in software engineering or something, but it has always seemed really neat to me. is this idea unrealistic? also, if that’s something i wanna pursue, would the cs computer graphics track be a good way to do it? im a freshman so i think i have a little time to decide, but im just looking for some insight from students who may have gone through that track or have any feedback
I'm going to start with the ELI5: "A lot" means different things to different people. This is a small community in the scheme of things, but a sufficiently large one to make a meaningful difference. The problem is so, so much worse than the MSM is trying to describe it as, because we're enough to cause a problem, and we're essentially nobody.
I've noticed that online communities, like Reddit, often suffer from a large number visualization problem. We use numbers like thousands or millions, and don't put them into context of things we can really picture in our minds. It's easy to think of something as "very popular" without realizing how small a particular niche community might be. Recently in a response, I made some comments to give perspective that I thought would assist this community in visualizing what it means to potentially own the float, by giving real world examples instead of digital ones. You know there's going to be some GenX logic in here, because I use Reddit in lightmode on my computer. Let's visualize some demographics.
I have two points to make.
- We're essentially "nobody" in the grand scheme of things.
- "Nobody" is plenty to do all the things we've talked about, and there's so, so, so many more people out there.
Point 1: It's fine to be nobody.

This is Arlington Texas and a screenshot of Superstonk this fine Sunday-FUDday morning. The connection may not be immediately obvious, but I noticed this week Arlington Texas is a very convenient way to think about the size of Superstonk. It has a population of 395k people, making it a third larger than our forum. That stadium you see is AT&T Stadium, and it seats 105k people on game day. When someone says, "it's all over the forum", and the forum has about 30k people online at a fairly active time, it's like saying you put it on the jumbo-tron at the stadium, and only 1 out of 3 people actually noticed. If it's HOT on the forum for a day or two, it's similar to everyone reading it on the jumbo-tron. The entire sub can be thought of everyone in Arlington, Texas, and the people online over a day or two

So I made this quick graphic to better visualize Wing's words about potential. The blue represents Zushi, a one in 100,000 potential. The green represents Gon and Killua, both one in 10 million potentials. The ground would likely represent a normal human with no nen potential.
