A list of puns related to "Van Weezer"
It's a soft, sweet song that gives a nice calming end to a mostly high tempo high energy album. Anyone else really like it?
I listened to it again after some time and I like it. Not the best album ever, but I'd put it between E.W.B.A.I.T.E. and Red and I think both of those are A tier.
I refuse to explain further.
VW is my 3rd favourite Weezer album, but a lot of people dislike it. But where does the hate come from?
Okay first of all why do i feel like rives voice is higher pitched than back in blue or pinkerton? I genuinely think 1990's rivers would have a hard time singing the notes
one more hit (the pump it up song) kinda sound like its about vaccines
Althought the album is a tribute to 80's metal, it sounds nothing like a metal album. More a pop rock
I have to admit i like blue dream but its just because of the crazy train hook, the rest of the song is meh (atleast the chords are different than to crazy train)
On tier lists, people often put ok human above van weezer. I don't get that, like, at all. I love ok human but van weezer is much better in my opinion. Maybe its dumb to compare them since they are very different but along with coming out around the same time, they both to me feel like two sides of the same coin. They are both in some ways returns to form but with opposite spins on the weezer sound. I prefer the style of van weezer more personally so I just wanted to know from everyone that does prefer ok human, why?
Why the hell do people hate this album? I think it's 9/10
This is the last one. For now...
So I waswashing the dishes and I swear to god there's some subtle changes in "I Need Some of That" and "Beginning of the End". Just minor mixing details, but my ears don't lie. I had to stop so I could post this
Am I crazy?
Reason 1 - All 5 of the singles are great. Especially the masterpiece known as Beginning Of The End.
Reason 2 - None of the songs are downright bad like other Weezer albums. Sure, some of the songs in the second half are hated by true fans, but I think that they're pretty good (ex. Blue Dream, Sheila Can Do It)
Reason 3 - The instrumental is really heavy for a Weezer album. I think that it's the heaviest they've ever gone on the instruments, even heavier than Maladroit.
Reason 4 - The entire album feels like a single entity, unlike Black and Red.
Reason 5 - The reason it sounds so rushed was out of their control. Covid-19 screwed up the scheduling for the two albums, and forced them both to be released in 2021.
Reason 6 - A lot of the hate comes from it coming out after Ok Human, which most people believe to be their 3rd or 4th best album of all time. It's been long enough to forget about that bs and just enjoy Van Weezer for what it is.
You can believe whatever you want, and do whatever you want. This is all my opinion, and you don't have to crucify my for having it. I'm just bored and I have a lot of free time.

Why isnt in Van Weezer explicit, it says shit in the main chorus of 1 more hit
Does anyone else thinks Van Weezer truly sucks. I mean Ive given a good listen to every weezer album besides raditude and dtfm and I gotta say Van Weezer falls way below every other album for me.
The lyrics are pretty garbage even for weezer standards. The sound is tinny and missing a lot of bass. My favorite song from the album is probably Blue Dream which is a good song (crazy train) plus a good song (ballad of the briny) to make a mediocre one. It's really disappointing.
I can come back to even the black album or make believe and enjoy myself but Van Weezer is just bad. Thoughts?

This album shreds. I love what they set out to do, create a stadium rock record in the style of metal bands like Van Halen. It's a sound that really harkens back to their roots; somewhat nerdy lyrics with heavy rock riffs to back it up. It seems like when Weezer creates an album with a plan or a theme behind, it makes it a lot more focused and concise, and usually makes it more enjoyable.
Hero is the opening track, and it's a great way to start things off. It's uplifting even though the lyrics are about not being able to be a hero, it sounds like someone trying their best to become one. It's upbeat, it's fun, and it just kicks ass.
All Of The Good Ones is okay, we had to have at least one stomp-stomp-clap tracks on a stadium rock record. The lyrics aren't anything to write home about, as we've come to expect at this point it's singing about a girl. Still pretty enjoyable.
The End of the Game is the lead single, our first taste we had of the album, and I enjoy it quite a bit. Is it going too far to say it reminds me of Buddy Holly? I find myself vibing to it in a similar way. It's a good groove, the hook is real cute and catchy with a good oo-wee-oo, I just like it.
I Need Some of That is another good one, simply just another track that flows well within the rest of the tracklist. Love the "even when we blow up, never gonna grow up" line. It sets out to do what it was meant to do.
Beginning of the End surprised me, when I saw it was made for the Bill & Ted movie I thought it would be more phoned it, but it may be my favorite on the album. The hook is another sticky one, and the whole song about protecting rock music from being destroyed is such a classic metal thing to do. And that guitar solo kicks all sorts of ass by Weezer standards.
I'm not a fan of Blue Dream, in fact I'm not usually a fan of super obvious interpolations. And Crazy Train has been done to death. It's hard to look past it. And not really vibing with these lyrics about living in the ocean? It's spotty to say the least.
1 More Hit is another awkward drug song, but I need a stronger word than awkward to describe it. The line "Pump it up into me please, daddy" is said not once but twice. The tempo change and breakdown is kind of just thrown in there, I thought it was about to last a lot longer and do some crazy shit. Not my favorite.
Sheila Can Do It is another one that's just okay. The hook is pretty repetitive, and the "If Sheila can do it" portion is repeated a bunch too. Th

This is their 15th studio album and is filled with 80s rock and metal heroisms. Does it stack up with the rest of their discography? Is it the best thing ever? Worst? How would you rank the songs?
Edit: Pump it up into me please daddy please daddy
