A list of puns related to "The Resistance (album)"
"Control and Resistance" by late 80s Texas-based prog/tech metal band Watchtower is by far one of the most interesting and musically impressive albums Ive ever listened to. Its a quirky sound i can almost only really describe as a mixture of thrash metal and jazz fusion. The incredible mixture of acoustic and electric drums, the crazy harmonic tapping of the guitar, an absolutely booming bass and a singer that could rival Geddy Lee just absolutely floors you sonically when you put this album on.
There is so much to this album that could be said between the constantly changing time signature changes and off-beat rhythms to the use of negative space in music, this album is so so so far ahead of its time. Please if you enjoy anything Proggy/technical, give this a listen!

Alot of the songs in said album are undoubtedly applicable to current events..
Been getting fucked over by govt recently and drumming is my outlet, so looking for good music similar to stuff on albums like RATMβs self titled and Metallicaβs and justice for all. Rap is welcome too, but the only song I can really let loose with the drums on that Iβve found so far is the blacker the berry by Kendrick Lamar.
Fight me!
Yeah not because of how orchestral the album is all over. I'm on the side of the fanbase that thinks Black Holes was their last truly amazing album but that being said I think The Resistance is still great. It feels like such a big step after the first four albums in that there's so much smoothness to it. In every album before it felt like Matt would be straining sometimes, not that he'd be struggling cos he would nail every note, but you could tell he was really pushing himself sometimes. In The Resistance it felt like everything he was singing was in his reach even though some of those songs are really hard to sing both in what he's singing and endurance. At the same time it's way more (imo) coherent of an album than the latest three, and most consistent in quality. The production of the album is so consistent and under control yet it almost feels like one of the flaws I see in it where it's almost over produced at time.
I dunno, maybe this is just a bizarre thought I wanted to share, I've just been really into the album lately (especially the symphony, I've been listening to it so much recently). It's such a cool collection of songs and ideas and yet something about the end-result of the album is just weirdly by itself compared to Origins-Black Holes and T2L-Simulation Theory. Of the last four Muse albums The Resistance is by far my favorite but I don't group it with any of the other albums.
With Muse I sort of have albums 2-4 in a group, 6-8 in a group, then Showbiz and The Resistance are in their own categories. And no I don't mean that the albums in groups sound the same lol Micro Cuts vs Supermassive Black Hole I just mean these separated groups are made by the feeling I get from their whole discography. Does anything I said make sense or do I sound absolutely mad?
I feel like people always suggest Radiohead based on my love of Muse but I actually donβt love them too much.
Not to say the album is under rated, but I think the sub fixates too much on Drones and 2nd law sometimes. The Resistance such an important part of Muse and has a little of everything from rock, classical, and electronica.
Let us begin by assuming nominal 1 Day charting periods on the GameStop stock chart.
Now, let us review what volume-weighted average price is (note that an intra-period assessment of average price is typically applied using the low, high, and closing price (in error).

Let us assume that a 7-day rundown in volume and price is terminated by a discovered price support after such a rundown. Let us create a term called Volume Weighted Price Support, where we analyze the volume-weighted price over the day that preceded the weeklong rundown.

Let us also assume that a weeklong runup in volume and price is terminated at time T 0 by a new price resistance after such a runup. Let us create a term called Volume Weighted Price Resistance, where we analyze the volume-weighted price over the day that preceded the weeklong rundown.

First, let us seek the previous price resistance from the chart:
GameStop's Previous Resistance (albeit forced) was $508.04 in Pre-Market on 28JAN2021
Now, let us seek a VWPR from 8 to 7 business days (occurred on January 19th): $40.5 Average on (VWPR 8 to 7 days) across total traded Price * Volume (PV) of $3,026,160,000 on that day.
Further, let us use this historical data (of volumetrically-reflected value) to make a future prediction about a new price resistance (final divided by initial as a weighting coefficient) and applied to the same expectations of PV.

However, since the previous VWPR from T0 minus {8 to 7 } days of 3,026,160,000 $*shares is 13.9537x that of the current, "New 1Day PV" of {216,872,100 $*shares} , then by primary assumption of volumetrically-reflected value in the past being equivalent to volumetrically-reflected value in the future, this new price resistance has a predictive quality only with equally applied reflective price * volume. Therefore, we m

Iβve updated and am coming to the end of the album now. I would love to know what people think and discuss other peoples opinions. So if you fancy it have a gander if not no sweat.

Hello everyone and welcome back to another day of Album of the Year 2018, the daily write-up series that for the next two months, will see users from the subreddit and beyond talking about their favorite albums of the year. Up today we've got /u/pigammon talking IDLES' sophomore album, Joy As An Act Of Resistance.

IDLES! Formed in Bristol, UK in 2011 by vocalist Joe Talbot and bassist Adam Devonshire, the group has since expanded to include Jon Beavis on drums and guitarists Mark Bowen and Lee Kiernan. They released their debut album Brutalism last year to critical acclaim, and in the aftermath of the recordβs success they toured heavily and signed to New York record label Partisan. Joy As An Act Of Resistance was released only a year later, and in similarly tragic circumstances of Brutalism (inspired by the passing of Joeβs mother), the albumβs recording was overshadowed by the stillbirth of Joeβs daughter. The album was a massive success critically and commercially upon release - it got to No. 2 in the UK charts, which is unheard of for independent releases. They have since embarked on a tour, which has sold out so quickly I didnβt get tickets. Bah.
Review by /u/pigammon
A couple of years ago, I started having trouble with my mental health. I wonβt go into detail but I ended up spiraling downwards, and I felt like it was my fault and I should just try and push it down and keep going, because thatβs what everyone else did, right? This is, obviously, a terrible mindset, and I ended up reaching a point where I tried to end my life. I walked onto a train track, expecting to be hit by a train coming from Bristol, but as it was hurtling towards me a stranger spotted me and yanked me off the track at the last second. I ran away, crying (for the first time in a while). The next day, I applied for treatment, and I havenβt looked back since.
Whatβs the point of this anecdote? Thereβs two, act

Band: Watchtower
Album: Control and Resistance
Released: 1989
Eula literally takes ICE BATHS THERE... she should atleast get a 50%resistance to buildup or something.
Albedo basically lives up there, he deserves it too for canon.
In the midweek UK album chart update, "JAAAOR" is at #2, only behind Eminem's album. Very impressive when you consider pop albums like Drake and Ariana Grande are popular too - IDLES are outselling them all! So deserved.
The new Anna Calvi record is at #12 as well, which is good.
