My wife and I were putting up a curtain rod, and I had previously removed the cap at the end of the rod.
After we finished installing the hooks, and hung the curtains I asked her to hand the cap to me.
"Honey, can you hand me the pole end?"
She was unsure of what I meant, and asked, "What pole end?"
"Pole end is a country in eastern Europe, but I need you to hand me the cap the to the curtain rod."
Groaning ensues...

TIL that during WWII nylon was rationed leaving women with no stockings, and since going out bare legged was a fashion faux pas, women had to get creative and began painting on their stockings. I need rug ideas! 8x10 is the size Iβm looking for. Curtains and throw pillows are powder blue, but I think a blue rug would be overwhelming. Preferably the rug would be $300 or less.

Why do I wake up more refreshed if I have sunlight come in through my room in the morning, versus sleeping with closed curtains?
I definitely feel more awake and energized if I sleep with my curtains open so that my room is bright when I wake up, versus sleeping in total darkness. Is there any scientific explanation to this or am I just imagining things? I was always under the impression that sleeping/waking up in darkness gives you better sleep (aka the use of black curtains).
My brush organizer was ruined when nail polish exploded in my bag, so I made a new one using some of grandmaβs old curtains! Happy with the end result :)
Made this dress out of some old lace curtains... and then threw the whole thing in a teal dye bath. I love how the embroidery sucked up more color than the chiffon did...
