A list of puns related to "The Grouchy Ladybug"
Hey and hi. I'm playing Shadows of Valentia blind and sharing my thoughts as I go. Feel free to follow along!
Alm's party just got a bunch of promotions, now it's time to use them.
Story
We continue to march north toward the damn dam. After a battle, we cut to Rudolf and Berkut. Berkut and Frogman get in an argument. Berkut asks to help defend the border, despite having mostly failed at stopping us thus far - once we get past the damn dam, Berkut will be there to bother us.
Nuibaba shows up and... ugh. tl;dr the Duma Faithful are stronk, and have their claws in Rigel's politics. Berkut's too proud to do evil magic junk. He does get little charm which probably won't ever show up again, guaranteed.
Enough. We've been talking about the Sluice Gate for hours now. We're going there, we're killing everyone, and the river will run red with blood. Oh, except Delthea's.
Deltha attacks us with Aura, with a cool voice effect to boot. Perhaps she's a robot? Clive says to off her (Look at Clive, all acting like he'll go pro-ice because he's in a raw situation), Alm disagrees. In the end, she ends up not dead and flees the battlefield.
At the dam proper, Delthea and Luthier reunite. Luthier up and declares Alm to be king, which Alm is pretty uncomfortable with. Then Clive comes along and does it, and he and Alm have a nice emotional moment. I think this is probably the end of Clive's story arc. Based on the sadtimes music, if things had gone south with Mathilda or Delthea, Clive might not have been so kind here, and I wouldn't blame him.
Now we just have to wait for Celica to reach the other dam and we're set for the next act. Celica is a little behind, but we should be able to wrap up this act next time.
Characters
Nuibaba: Ugh. No thank you.
Rinea: What is your deal, lady?
Delthea: She has moxie. Her robot moments didn't particularly wow me, so I'm waiting on her to introduce herself more fully before rendering judgment.
Luthier: Fine, be completely a dick! In seriousness, I appreciate the lengths he goes for Delthea, and the gratitude he shows in dedicating himself to Alm's cause, but why does he have to just hate on Delthea all the dang time? She just got saved and your reaction is to be mean to her the minute you get her back? Megarude.
I really like that he's the guy who is just tactless enough to break the ice on what Alm's role is becoming, where Alm and Clive have been nervously skati

I passed a cop on the way home, and I remember feeling like I should be grateful Im not drinking, but Iβm just grouchy. I started the Naked Mind, which is very interesting and addressed some suspicions about AA (although AA helped me stop before). But Iβm at the part where she says starting in high school is a bad idea. Iβm feeling angry that my parents sent me to a big drinking high school. β
Kinda all over the place here, but I am grateful for this invisible community of keyboard users for being kind to me. THis is harder and more emotionally draining than I thought. Iβm coming up on 7 days
We need to arrive at a happy medium.
I think it's about time to meet the main cast. Let's go!
Story
Nothing happens in the first fight, except we slowly approach the Deliverance proper. In fact, screw it, I'm adding the fort to this episode because nothing else happened.
Whoops, the fort is full of monsters. That seems like a dumb idea, but Python argues we can just ignore them, and I don't think he's wrong.
We meet Clive. Woooo! Clair continues to hype up Alm, which is nice of her. And Clive seems to like him too, neat.
Clive is handing over command. His reasoning is actually pretty solid - you need a good figurehead, and as famous as Clive is, he isn't it. Fernand disagrees, but Lukas delivers the sickest burn I've heard in a while, holy shit. It occurs to me that Clive is just playing Izuka (or maybe Tauroneo) to Alm's Micaiah.
Fernand is cheesed. He's outta here, to maybe become an antagonist later. Later, amigo.
Characters
Silque/Faye C: Faye is an absolute trainwreck of a person, wow. "Hey dude, wanna be friends?" "Heh, no." If she says to Alm later something like "woe is me I don't have any friends" I'mma strangle her. It's almost interesting in a meta sense as a commentary on Fateswakening stuff - a character is so wrapped up in their gimmick that they actively reject character development. Faye is actually becoming one of the characters I'm getting really invested in, because something about her is just off, and I think it's written that way on purpose.
Clair/Alm C: Aww. This is cute. Too bad Alm/Celica is 1000% canon.
Python: Python gets a lot of personality just out of word choice. "Nah I'm just kiddin', you're alright kid.", to put him in a nutshell.
Lukas: Daaaaamn, dude! I didn't think he had it in 'im to deliver sick burns like that.
Clive: I like Clive a lot. He's not some crusader for peasant rights - he needs men, any men, and if they do well he rewards them. If they're useful, he uses them, like he's using Alm. He doesn't argue to Fernard the cliche "they're people just like us", he argues "we need them to make this work". It's an interesting perspective and I'm eager to see how his character progresses.
Forsyth: He failed to create any impression on me at all.
Fernand: We'll see more of him later as a baddie probably. He's a bit of a strawman because his arguments are just suicidally unreasonable. But then again, someone who would rather die for a cause they believe in than compromise their moral code and win is admirable in its own way, yo

Dragons exist on Valentia, but only as zombies. Wasn't bringing Medeus back to life a huge deal that needed a spooky ritual? How did this necrodragon come about then? Whatever, don't think about it.
Story
Time to kill a dragon. I don't care that Kamui doesn't want to. Or that there are actually two of them. I am a hunter and I most prove mankind's superiority over the wild. Celica dons her camo cargo pants, trucker hat, and hiking boots, loads up a wad of Skoal, and fills up a cooler with Natty Light and Slim Jims. The glorious dance between man and beast begins.
Characters
Celica: Celica's complete passive-aggressive denial of all things Kamui is hilarious. Celica can be real funny when she wants to be.
Kamui: Dude I do not blame him. Necrodragons are straight scary.
Map/Gameplay
I commit and have Celica eat the Fruit of Life. Only +2 HP is very disappointing.
This appears real straightforward. One dragon will charge, the other will sit on the throne with the Blessed Ring and just be tanky as hell. Seraphim will be the key, but Leon has anti-flier so maybe that'll do a thing.
Nope, they both charge. Okay, okay, still doable, don't panic. The first goes down real easy on turn 2 thanks to a Seraphim crit. The second I just have to gang up on. It goes down after some heavy pummeling with a Sunder crit from Kamui. Whew! This was mostly just RNG and I'll admit to it.
Units
Valbar: I hope I get a Lance up ahead. He has 14 Str and was still doing scratch damage to the dragons because he's just down to punching them in the jaw. I have 3 swords at this point and no lance, give him something to work with.
Genny: The Blessed Ring should let Genny heal without having to worry about it, and maybe even cast Invoke if I need to. No second healer makes me reliant on her, so anything that makes her easier to handle is welcome.

Cut back to Celica's party at the Zofian harbor. Maybe we can start to actually head toward Mila's temple now.
Story
The team enters a spooky skeleton yard. Mae predicts that there's gonna be a fight at the Temple of Mila, which in-universe is odd, but on this side of the fourth wall is intensely predictable.
After the fight, I go to a Mountain Village. Atlas joins up, I'm warned about necrodragons at a shrine, and I forge a bit. I blow through another random encounter that spawned, seemingly just to bug me.
Characters Boey/Mae B: Mae has either gotten over or sufficiently suppressed her earlier worries, and is all gung-ho on the whole murder thing. It's good to see Boey worried about her despite the two usually sniping at each other.
Atlas: Grieth killed his dudes, and boy is Atlas pissed. How many people are we promising to kill Grieth for, at this point? I guess he's not a sidequest after all.
Leon: Leon's hygiene and appearance worries pop up again. At least someone in this group is taking care of his skin. This has potential to be annoying but I don't think they're going overboard with this. He also mentions the desert, which is odd considering that I haven't gone to the desert yet. Spoilers, I guess.
Kamui: Kamui drops his backstory on us. A nomad, eh? Interesting enough. He's not complicated, but I'm cool with that.
Map/Gameplay
A graveyard fulla revenants. Aside from the scattered graves giving very high bonuses, the map design in unremarkable and this map is mostly a romp. This is my introduction to Poison, and 10 HP per turn is really scary. This map is short enough for it not to bother me, but I'll be on the lookout.
The village has a couple of interesting bits. For one, Atlas. For two, a Peddler, who I suppose lets you transfer items between parties. I can't think of anything to trade right this second, but it's good to know it's available.
But last, and most important, is the Forge! It's been a long way into the game, but now we can forge a thing or two. I ain't got too much money, so I repair a Rusted Shield for an Iron Shield (a little underwhelming) and upgrade Saber's Blessed Sword.
The next skirmish is against brigands in the same graveyard and is pretty uninteresting.
Units
Palla: She's got solid power, solid bulk, and reasonable Spd, not to mention flight. There's a lot to like here. She's c

Looking for free activities for grouchy older people visiting in fort worth. Neither one of them walk well, and are in their mid 70s. They don't want to spend the money to go to a play or on a tour. The don't like shopping or window shopping. basically, they want to drive around and look at things I guess. Also don't want to be around heavy traffic or minorities? They are alabama racist...lol Think Trump sits on right side of God and DFW is full of evil doers and crime.
Here we go for the most random contest ever!
I'm having a bit of a grump, and I need cheering up. So without further ado, here are the rules:
Post something awesome! A joke, a cute picture, a story about what you've been up to, anything!
Tell me what your favourite colour is when it comes to makeup - do you like nudes? Pinks? Purples? Blue, green, copper, you name it! What's your go-to colour?
Winner(s) must be willing to PM me your address(es).
I will pick a winner (or winners) from the posts based wholly on who managed to cheer me up the most! :D If more than one person makes me wee myself laughing, there will be more than one winner!
ERMAHGERD THE WINNINGS?!
I will be giving away an utterly eclectic mix of Things^TM! Guaranteed are two Victoria's Secret lip glosses, unopened and unused. If I find other unused goodies loitering around, I will edit this post and add them.
Further goodies will be either lipsticks or lipglosses, and will have been swatched but never used. These goodies will be based on your favourite colour, so be warned! :D
If a winner is in the UK, there may be a nail polish or two, too!
Contest is open to anyone, anywhere! Closing date is Midnight EST on Sunday the 24th of November!
This seems to be a dividing issue among historians. What's your take on it ?
