Embracing Creative Freedom
The Demigod Files, or TDF, was created with the idea in mind to embrace creative freedom and allow writers to flourish and grow. This still holds true despite our swelling numbers and additions to our mod team. We have a set of rules and guidelines, but as long as it is not abused, creative freedom will always be welcomed and embraced here.
Character Creation- rather than go through a questionnaire to get claimed, the character and their godly parent are up to you. There are a few restrictions on which gods may be chosen, but the mods are willing to work with you
Personal Plots - have an adventure or story in mind? You're free to tell it, so long as it is within the rules of the subreddit and meets the Post Requirements which can be found in our wiki.

Backstories are a good way to build a character, but should be used as such. Not to establish a level of experience to be better than everyone else. To prevent this, we have an Experience System in place to ensure characters are not only growing and developing, but to create a reward system for those who actively participate in roleplaying events.
Rather than fall into the same routine over and over again, character storylines stick and have a greater effect on the roleplay of others. Could be something simple as

We are a brand new sub, set to take place during current time and date and ten years after the Second Titan War ended. ##How It Works
Yes, there is another CHB subreddit
Actually there are two. PJRP was the original CHB roleplaying subreddit, and CHBRP was started a few years ago. So why start a new sub? We wanted a sub that was in canon and in synch with our sister-sub r/HalfbloodHaven and felt this could open up opportunities for shared plots, as well as character crossovers and expanded adventures. A brand new sub offers new writers to join without having to read up on old plots, or have missed out on major events that their character should know about. Right now we are waiting for writers to get settled into their characters before we launch our first plot.
Gods and Powers
You can choose any of the Greek gods listed here, or you can request a god not found on this list. These are just the major and minor Olympian gods, and found within the Riordan Wiki, so these are the ones listed. You may also request a child of the Big Three, but understand that they will be rare; rare, but not impossible, you just have to be willing to work through the kinks.
Here at the Demigod Files, we want you to express yourselves as well as give you creative freedom. You may request up to three powers of your choosing, as long as they are not too powerful (read over our rules) and make sense for the selected godrent. You may be asked to take your request to modmail, but we will work with you to approve your character.

A little background..I read the first 3 Percy Jackson and the Olympians books in college about 10 years ago and LOVED them. Why I never continued reading the series is a mystery, but I’m starting over and I want to read EVERYTHING. I’m nearly done with The Lightning Thief and having so much fun. So excited about the journey ahead of me.
But. To my question..I’ve seen conflicting answers to this question and since I don’t have any friends who have read the books, I figured I’d ask you guys. When should I read Demigod Files? After book 4 or 5 of PJO? Sorry if this question is commonly asked, but I’m hesitant to do too much searching because I’m desperately trying to avoid spoilers. And to reiterate, I’ve only read the first 3 PJO books.

So, the gods of Theros are gods because of the people's belief and faith in them. That makes sense to me. However, how does demigod work into the story? I know the story isn't out quite yet so I know that there probably isn't any definitive answer. In theology, demigods are half god, half human and that makes sense. So are demigods in Theros the same? Or, is the people's faith in them not strong enough to make them into a god? This is all kind of speculation but I'm curious.
P.S. Maybe it has been answered or explained already and if that's the case, I'll remove the post.
It was thought that Coronos could “intoxicate the air”, which killed entire villages.
For years all I’ve e wanted was to make my player like T-Mac as he was my favorite player back when he played. But with the dual archetypes it has been impossible. So I actually hope we can make multi skilled players. I know others would like to make players that emulate a star they like too. T-Mac could slash and shoot the 3. He had enough handle to cross someone and a God like first step. But if I make a 6’8 player I can kiss most of that goodbye. I hope that’s possible this year. I don’t mind guarding a “demigod” if we all get to be one. I think that’s how it should be. Agree?
I’ve wondered for a while, is it possible for a demigod to posses the abilities/powers of two gods/goddesses, like Ares and Apollo, or all of the gods/goddesses, like Athena, Aphrodite and Hermes? It’s sounds weird, but I’ve wondered for a while. (Those examples were random, btw)

How We Differ
We want to embrace and allow creative freedom, and allow the writer to choose their godrent and their powers. We also have an experience system, so the work you do in games and lessons actually means something. Also to prevent “Mary Sue” type characters who never want to lose, despite other characters working more.
