Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Titan’s Curse

In the book The Titan's Curse, it starts with Percy Jackson, Thalia Grace, Grover Underwood, and Annabeth Chase going to a school dance. They went to the school because Grover was there and sensed trouble. As soon as they got to the dance, Grover pointed out the set of brother and sister Demigods. The friends acted casual and danced along with all the other students. Before they even noticed, the brother and sister were gone. Percy, being the only on who noticed, went to go look for them by himself. When he went from hallway to hallway, and finally he found the siblings, Nico Di Angelo and Bianca Di Angelo, being guided by the school principal, Dr. Thorn. Percy silently approached Nico and Bianca. No one knew, but Dr. Thorn was a manticore, a type of monster. Percy saved the Di Angelos, but the manticore took Annabeth instead. Artemis and her hunters appeared right after the incident. Artemis Goddess of the Hunt, set out to stop a highly dangerous monster. No one wanted her to leave, but she insisted it was her destiny. Bianca becomes one of Artemis' hunters, gaining immortality. Everyone went back to Camp Half-Blood, while they were devastated by Annabeth's capture. Percy visited the Oracle in the attic of the Big House for information on how to find Annabeth and Artemis. The Oracle doesn't answer until the annual capture the flag game between the hunters and the half-bloods. A prophecy was messaged by the Oracle in front of everyone at camp. The Oracle stated:

Five shall go west to the goddess in chains, One shall be lost in the land without rain, The bane of Olympus shows the trail, Campers and Hunters combined prevail, The Titan's curse must one And one shall perish by a parent's hand.  By just going off of what the Oracle had said, Grover, Thalia, Zoë Nightshade (a hunter), Percy, and Bianca, must complete the prophecy, and save Artemis and Annabeth. Along with trying to save the goddess and demigod, they must keep the Ophiotaurus safe. The Ophiotaurus wielded power, that if put in the wrong hands, they could destroy Mount Olympus along with all the gods and goddesses.

Rising Action: Artemis and Annabeth are captured, Percy, Zoë, Thalia, Bianca, and Grover set out to find them

The question I want to discuss is the title. Between Percy Jackson & Olympians vs The Heroes of Olympus: Which series do you prefer? I for sure prefer Percy Jackson & Olympians, but I won't post my reasons until someones actually answers this discussions Please nothing toxic. This is meant to be just a fun way to meet the camp half blood community and make friends

Both are from the same story universe and both are skilled fighters with godly heritage, so who wins?

i was re-reading rick's blog updates about the live action series and came across a graphic in this post that states that pjo has been translated into 42+ languages which is a super impressive figure.

how well written are the books in your native language? are there any clever/funny/awkward/bad/interesting translation parts that you've come across? which version do you prefer to read? i want all the details lol

I just finished reading this series and it's mind blowing how good it is, I started reading the books because I saw a lot of videos in my YouTube feed that Rick Riordan wrote better than J.K. Rowling and I was curious. They were so right, I read the 5 books in just 2 weeks (thanks quarantine) and I fell in love with them. I just wanted to tell somebody that and wanted to ask if should I read the Heroes of Olympus or not?

I don’t know if this is the right sub for this as PJO isn’t sci-fi, but it contains sci-fi elements. That being said, how do you think the agreement between Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades to not have anymore kids after WW2 affected their demigod children who were alive at the time? I know it’s implied that the leadership of both the Allies and the Axis are their children, but how would it affect regular people who happen to be their children? Or elderly big three demigods who were born way before WW2? I’m not giving Zeus any benefit of the doubt because his sex drive accounts for 90% of Greek mythology’s problems. Thanks to anybody who answers!

Annabeth Chase is the demigod daughter of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and battle, she’s spent most of her life training at Camp Half-Blood until Percy arrived and her life got hectic. She started going on quests and helped save the world on a couple of occasions.
