I like floaty summer/beach music with not too many lyrics (though some of the examples above have quite a lot, I prefer less than more). Think Scarlet Begonias -> Fire on the Mountain on Cornell '77 by the Grateful Dead. I prefer guitar music but any genre can do honestly so if you have any good jazz or electronic in that vein I'm interested as well.

I like feeling like I'm watching the sunset in a hammock on the beach after a day of chill surfing and swimming in a sea of turquoise.

Edit: Also before someone mentions Tycho. I have been listening to them. Didn't like it that much at first but I think they are growing on me.

So, if you loop, you've probably heard of Tash Sultana. She's one of the greats.

In watching this video, I was really surprised to hear that the snare sample she hits is quite a bit in front of the beat and remains that way throughout the song.

It still grooves but it definitely takes away from the feel of it at times, making it sound kinda clunky and out of time imo.

On one hand, I'm surprised that with a rig that big she isn't making use of quantization, and on the other, I feel mad respect for her.

What do you all think about quantizing loops live...Is it cheating, is it necessary?

Her music is great, very chill and relaxing but also with excellent shredding guitar work. I didn't know that combo existed.

I'm also into lofi hip-hop guitar, so any suggestions in that vein would be appreciated. Love this community!

I've seen her requested a few times but typically the conversation revolves around the instrumental and musical elements, rather than the slow build up of layers, the feeling of 'wow I have to stop and listen'.

An example that comes close is Recovery - Rival Consoles, totally different genre, but hypnotic, emotive.

I have been listening to Marc for about 3 months now, and I have shared his music with all of my friends, and have started converting them to the Church of Marc haha.
