A list of puns related to "Synchrotron light source"
For several weeks each summer, Brookhaven Lab welcomes members of the public to its site. We plan days that include visits to our facilities, opportunities to speak with our researchers, special activities for adults and children, and much moreβand itβs all free!
This Sunday, visit the National Synchrotron Light Source II, where scientists use intense beams of light to see the inner structure of batteries, proteins, space dust, and more. Come find out what it means to be a βphoton microscopeβ and why we are so excited about this incredible machine.
One of the biggest synchrotrons (source of incredibly coherent and intense X-Ray radiation) in Europe, Diamond light source in the UK, runs linux. Red Hat Enterprise to be more specific. In fact, as far as I'm aware all (?) synchrotrons in the world run with linux as their computing operating system of choice. It's not that remarkable that scientific tools run on Linux, but this one is rather large. :)
