A list of puns related to "Stringer"
String could see the game changing and wanted to make the organization legit thru the businesses he was creating when Avon was locked up, String wanted to wholesale product behind the guise of legitimacy, Avon wanted to war for and hold corners like always cause thats all he knew and as far as he could see.
I can't figure this one out. Is it because he knows Avon will be back soon, so he wants them to be ready for that, and maybe he thinks Stringer is just trying to soften him up, make him drop his guard? Or does he think that Stringer/Avon are weak, and he wants to take advantage of that?
I'd lean to the latter, knowing Marlo's character. Because prior to their meeting Marlo had just roughed up Bodie's crew, so from his perspective it probably looks weak that Stringer is meeting with him straight up after that instead of hitting back. On the other hand, I don't recall Marlo hitting any of Avon's people after this meeting. So i'm just kind of curious what other people took from Marlo telling Chris to tool up, immediately after meeting with Stringer. Maybe it was just a throwaway remark but idk.
In my 14 dynasties I have typically put my second string in games as often as possible under the assumption they might get some additional AWR stats from the playing time. I really haven't figured out how to test this assumption. Am I right?
I was thinking about Bregman Roe's impact yesterday in his huge game for the Twolves after being out of the league for 2 years and was wondering if y'all have more examples where the 15th+ man gets called upon and really shines. Especially if it's in the playoffs or they end up as a long-term NBA player.
JLin is the most obvious one probably. Another one that comes to my mind is Bismarck Biyombo for the Raptors in '16 playoffs against the Cavs.
Major spoiler:
When Stringer is going to be shot by Brother and Omar, Omar says that Stringer's boy gave him up. The night before, Avon asked about where/when Stringer was going to be and presumably gave him up to Omar, especially since we saw Brother and Avon talking before at the barber shop.
My question is, why did Avon give him up? They weren't seeing eye to eye but it didn't seem serious enough for Avon to go that far. Granted, Stringer gave up Avon to the police and he gets locked up for it but the audience sees his logic and why he took such drastic action. Does anyone have insight on why Avon took even more drastic action, getting Stringer killed?
These things are always at their worst when they're just clip shows of show references. If Simon were involved, I'd trust him to give us something new.
Let's see Avon, early twenties, making his name as a soldier to be feared and respected. Let's see young Stringer getting razzed for reading Art Of War instead of target practice, and then drop a few schemes that leave everyone stunned.
Let's see the war for the Towers, and the end of the previous age of kingpins (Warren, I think? Was he the king before Avon?).
Leave off the police side of it. Let's put it all inside the gangster world. The cops are a faceless antagonist, just showing up to inflict some pre-cellphone era brutality. This is Stringer and Avon's show, in the age before livestreaming, before burners, before Rodney King, before hashtags, before anyone gave a shit what police did in drug neighborhoods.
I don't know who you cast as the leads (Michael B Jordan? I can't decide if that's a dumb idea or not). Probably you'd want some unknowns, in traditional Wire style. It probably won't be what I imagine in my head but fuck if I don't want it.
My wife and I are looking to have our fence removed and replaced with board on board dogear 8x6. The company weβre going with uses cedar planks (6x6x1), with treated pine stringers and treated pine 4x4 posts. Is it common to use pine on cedar fencing or is this a cost-savings measure?
I done a quick job in my rental where I used an undercoat and water based gloss and took time to tape the edge of carpet. However when I peeled off the masking tape the gloss pulled away with it in places. I am now planning to do same at my own property but this time I paint striped then sanded 80 and 120grit before I plan to undercoat and gloss. How do I avoid the gloss pulling with the tape is there a technique?
So on console and PC to can normally squeeze by these guys and not get destroyed instantly. But recently I've started playing on the switch, and I've reached a place that shall not be named and they're hitboxes seem to be huge and you can't get by them to explore. Anyone else experience this?

Does anyone have access to this book on PDF? I very much appreciate it
hey everyone,
currently dealing with very frustrating conversation with an editor. I recently started a stringer gig with a major news outlet with the agreement of $275/news article, as opposed to the $225 offered. I supplied 3 quality photos (I am a photojournalist, have had work published for bloomberg, nytimes, etc) for the first article, since I had asked whether photos might be of interest and was sent the media line-item sheet ($25/ basic photo, $50/quality photo). I asked about payment for the photos (already invoiced the weekly $275) and my editor came back with this response (can't attach screenshot, transcribing):
"Regarding payment for the photos, our standard rate for web articles is $225 (line item 6) We are paying you above the standard rate at $275.Β As a part of that, the expectation is photos would be included. I apologize that it was not clarified at the beginning.Β An alternative is, we can pay you the standard $225 for a web article and pay for the photo separately at $25.Β Which would you prefer?"
I'm at a loss as to how to even respond, any advice would be appreciated. i've signed several web contracts I signed, which seemed to have had its media line item amended as per the negotiation to 275/ web article. this is a classic case of me not wanting to 'upset' the editor because I need the stability of this stringer gig, but also need to stand up for myself!
