A list of puns related to "Santana (band)"
I like Jimi, though I don't really listen to his music on my regular playlists rotation, I still recognize the amazing skill he had with the guitar. And I've heard some live recordings where he would improv a song for a pretty long time. But a lot of his shows did have very similar setlists from night to night depending on the tour he was on. Besides being considered classic rock, and I would definitely say he was psychedelic rock. Would The Jimi Hendrix Experience, or Band of Gypsys, be categorized as early jam bands?
I've been a fan of Santana and The Doors just about all my life. Lately I've been obsessed with Santana's Soul Sacrifice but I also love the organ sound on his version of Oye Como Va and I Hope You're Feeling Better. As for The Doors, I'm familiar with just about everything they've released. I love the sound of the Vox Continental organ that they used on songs like Light My Fire, and my all time favorite Doors song is Changeling which has a killer organ sound on it. Ray Manzarek wrote some amazing organ basslines.
So does anybody know any other similar music with great organ parts? The only other thing that comes to mind in terms of similar sound would be Sly and the Family Stone; they got some killer organ on songs like Higher or I Ain't Got Nobody (For Real). Though that organ is played more in a gospel/soul/funk style, still kicks ass though and is from the right time period.

This plays to a lot of fans' displeasure in Santana and Ortiz not going after the tag championships. Eddie outright blames Chris Jerico, and Santana and Ortiz being in the Inner Circle, as the reason they haven't gotten shots, and that reflects alot of fans' opinions as well. Santana last week in an interview also said that it was time for them to go for the championships.
Santana was in the background when Jungle Boy gave the tag titles to Fenix a few weeks ago, challenging them. They also showed Santana contemplative in the stands after Jurassic's win. I hope Kingston both beats Jericho, and Santana/Ortiz get shots at the tag titles.
I am looking for more albums or bands that have that fast paced, heavy percussion, similar guitar and vocals tone. It's hard to describe but you'll know what I'm talking about if you listen to these albums, or at least Alligator by the Grateful Dead
The albums I really like are
The Grateful Dead (1967)
Anthem of the Sun (1968)
Santana (1969)
Abraxas (1970)
Santana III (1971)
By no means is this a bashing thread, this is just meant to be a healthy discussion.
I think Santana & Ortiz have to be the most criminally underutilized talent on the AEW roster. These guys absolutely killed it in Impact, helping carry that tag team division, putting on great promos, and fantastic matches. They came into AEW with a lot of hype, making their debut at the first ever All Out in Chicago.
They started off fantastic, making their debut alongside the Inner Circle. Jericho went on to be one of the hottest acts in wrestling during his initial first year with AEW, however, it's safe to say that Jericho's trajectory has since plummeted big time. I feel like the Inner Circle has negatively impacted Sammy and P&P. While Sammy had a hot run at the beginning of the year, when his payoff was Shawn Spears, instead of MJF, I feel like they really wasted an opportunity to capitalize on his momentum.
Ortiz and Santana on the other hand, have not been heavily involved in the tag division at all. We even saw for a short while them acknowledging this on Dynamite and going with Jericho/Hager as the primary tag team of the stable.
With the AEW roster growing significantly, now gaining Black + King, reDRagon, and presumably more talent to come in the future, what does this mean for Ortiz & Santana who have already been taking a backseat since the beginning?
I was looking for some suggestions of bands with a similar sound to War! The World is a Ghetto is one of my top all time albums and I had the idea tonight of branching out and trying to find some more similar groups. Aside from War, Iβm very familiar with Santana as well so anything that falls into the category is much appreciated! Just looking for some new jams for the week. Thanks everyone!
Inspired by that Latin music post just now that didn't quite have what I wanted. I love Santana in general, but I really love that combo of prog-rock guitar, African-Latin influences and those Buena Vista Social Club-esque vocal harmonies chiming in every now and then. So I'm looking for bands that embraced that sound completely, not just as a small part of their entire repertoire.
