My lvl 4 party has been fighting Gorthok the boar demon for over a month and we finally defeated it this session.
Over the course of 5 sessions (weekly get together for 2 hours, COVID compliant, 2 missed sessions) my party of 4 PCs and 4 NPCs did an accumulative 400+ points of damage. We had killed the mages, the small twig creatures, the boars underground, burnt the voodoo dolls, and tried to knock over a stone pillar.
DM said 2 sessions ago: 'You think a mighty blow might be the key to sending the demon back to its home.'
We were low on hit points. Myself and another member had been knocked out and healed up once already. The rest of us were tired and run dry of spells. Had found some underground quarters in the hill we were on, so finally took a long rest there. Meanwhile, one of our centaur NPCs is squished to death.
Fully restocked, we decided to make one last effort (we thought it was pretty much impossible to defeat this thing, level 4 and all). The tank of our party, Salur gets bless (+1d4 on attacks), shield of faith (+2 AC), protection from Evil and Good (disadvantage on attacker), Enhance Ability (+10 HP) and bardic inspiration (+1d6 on attacks and damage). Salur has +7 on attacks and +5 on damage rolls, plus superiority dice from being a fighter.
Salur rolls a 10 on initiative, and the boar goes before him. Boar rolls a nat 20 and then a nat 1 (disadvantage), and now Salur gets to reroll 1's and 2's on damage rolls. Boar has another two attacks but misses both with disadvantage.
Salur makes his move, hits AC 23 (16+7), does 22 points of damage [6 (roll for longsword) +5 (d8 superiority dice) +6 (d6 to damage) and +5 natural strength bonus] with his first attack.
As fighter, Salur can take another action on turn, and uses this to make another attack. Hits again, does 15 points of damage. Total of 37 points of damage.
Boar drops to the ground and disappears.
The boar needed 27 points of damage from one character in a turn to be killed, otherwise, instead of dropping to 0, it does to 1 HP. Our highest hit beforehand was 26 damage.
TL;DR: After more than a month of sessions, our lvl 4 party killed a boar that needed 27 points of damage in one go to get it to 0 HP. Salur the human fighter was buffed up with 5 spells and did 37 points of damage, finally slaying Gorthok, the Thunder Boar.
Later that night, two cannibals were eating clown by the campfire. One turned to the other and said, "Does this taste funny to you?"

The Tribe are known as the Trids. On this mountain grows fruits of every kind. In discussing this mountain with the Trids, the Rabbi says, "Why don't you go up and collect some of the fruit." The Trid chief explains that there is a Troll on the mountain, and every time they try to go up the mountain, the Troll kicks them off.
The Rabbi being a man of God tells them, that at daybreak he will go up the mountain and collect some of the fruit.
At dawn the Rabbi goes up the mountain, and when he gets to some fruit, he picks it and starts to put it in a basket. Then the Troll appeared.
The Troll asks, "What are you doing on my mountain?"
The Rabbi replys, " I am here to collect some fruit"
The Troll says, " OK, help yourself"
The Rabbi says, "Aren't you going to kick me off the mountain?"
The Troll says, " Silly Rabbi, kicks are for Trids"

I love when someone makes up a word and they say it means something in another language. Like Rob on RI saying Murlonio meant โof the seaโ when itโs just an inside joke with Amber. Or Erik made up โDabuโ and said it meant โGoodโ in Micronesian. Why would this kid know Micronesian?!
