A list of puns related to "Rose's lime juice"
It's apparently impossible to find Rose's lime cordial in the country I live in (Sweden). It is apparently possible to get Monin cordial. Does anyone know how the two compare? Can one be used straightforwardly instead of the other?
(not interested in being told that all lime cordials are abominations -- I have my limited and specific reason for wanting some)
Healthy 69yo man had a delicious meal from a food cart vendor selling "catch of the day" ceviche on his last night of a vacation in Mexico. Flew back the next day, just in time for the horrendous diarrhea to set in. I saw him after 4 days of symptoms in urgent care, ordered a GI PCR panel (god bless those things) with the following results (https://imgur.com/a/uVHN0rR). In the words of my med student, "Wow, he just won at poop BINGO!" Indeed.
2 days later, he's feeling much better since starting oral vancomycin 125mg PO QID and azithromycin (per ID recs). He even ate some toast this morning.
I hope all of you are lucky enough to get a vacation to a warm sunny place soon, but remember to cook all the delicious fecal matter-infused food you eat.
I'm having a big party and will be serving drinks. Rose's lime is really handy instead of having to manually press a bunch of lime.
My question is if a drink including simple syrup and fresh lime juice would taste okay with Rose's lime instead of both (or at least less simple syrup)? Since Rose's lime is sugar and lime
Hi I'm using this recipe as a baseline https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/beef_rendang_62793
I've used it a couple of times but changed it a bit so it's not really a rendang, I normally use lime juice but I haven't got any but I do have lemons and also dried limes. I was hoping for some advice on how much lemon juice I should use and if I should adjust the sugar and soy sauce as well because of it.
My first thought was to add juice from half a lemon and try using some dried limes but then didn't know if I should keep the sugar and soy as it is
Edit- thanks for all the advice, you couldn't really tell much difference from swapping them
Hey /r/cocktails, I tend to go through a lot of Rose's Lime Juice for my margaritas; the recipe I use and love is a 1:1:1:1 ratio of tequila, triple sec, fresh lime, and Rose's Lime.
I've recently had a hard time finding Rose's in Chicago, so I'm looking for alternatives. One thing I came up with was messing with ratios of fresh lime and simple syrup, but I haven't had a chance to experiment yet.
What does everyone here use instead of Rose's?
Edit: I should clarify that I have three sugar-free versions of these syrups and I'm looking for some mixed drink cocktails to make with them.
If itβs plausible for a inexperienced person like me to make those at home does anyone have a reliable recipe?
Is anyone else experiencing this? Our broadline carriers gave us enough notice that the supply chain was going to be disrupted because of some problem at the factory, so we had time to stock up. Product came back on the market like everything was fine. Our one provider told us he had 50 cases set aside for us. Then he came in two days before Cinco (we're a Mexican restaurant/bar) and said that the 50 cases never materialized and he had none. Everyone else was out of stock too. Anyone know what's going on with this?
Edit: to add I'm in Upstate NY
Hey! This sounds like a fever dream, and rightfully so, but hear me out.
If any of you remember the Jonas Brothers forum that was a part of the fan club web site (ETA: Team Jonas!) back in the day, you miiight remember this. We're talking around 2007-2009.
So I remember me and some other fans were wondering if ever Joe, Nick or Kevin used to stop by the forums and snoop, and chatted around on how we could find it out. So I got the weird idea that we need to put something totally absurd in our signatures, and thus "Lime Juice" was born.
We used to be able to have like a signature after everything we posted, as you have on e-mails. People used to have like their favourite picture, a song lyric, quote etc. there. The thought was that we plant something really specific and weird that only forum-fans would get, and if they wanted to hint that they lurked, they would mention "Lime Juice" in one of the live streams they used to do (they were like a weekly occurence, man it was fun being a fan before social media). So we made like this how-to, where we encouraged people to write "Lime Juice!" in an awful, lime colour on top of their signatures.
It's sooo weird to think back on, but we seriously managed to get it pretty widespread! I think at one point most signatures in the general part of the forum had at least something lime coloured in them. I think we had like this thread too, that we kept updated and as a "hot topic" with directions and everything.
And at one of the live streams they had, someone commented "Do you guys like lime juice?" and they actually answered, and were all clueless and totally didn't get it, haha! So yeah, safe to say it was a failure.
I'm looking around the internets, and can't even seem to find any traces of the forums. Does anyone have anything? It would be fun to look back at!
Where the fuck is it? It's not in any of my grocery stores anymore. They all have the grenadine, but the lime juice had silently gone MIA. Does anyone know what happened to Rose?
In lieu of Rose's, do any of you drunk bastards know how to mix an equivalent?
Edit: I have no recollection of posting this last night. Apparently I ran out of juice and was not happy about it.
This is nothing though, apparently I posted some cuckold blog thing to a friend's facebook page as well. He was not amused, nor was his fiance.
I recently ordered a Gin Ricky at a reasonably nice bar that I'd not visited before. The bartender asked me how to make it. In retrospect, this should have been a warning. I told him, "gin, club soda, and lime juice". I received a drink that was very sweet. Since nothing I ordered contained any sugar, I knew something was wrong...
After some back and forth, we figured out that when he hears "lime juice" he thinks "Rose's lime juice", the juice cordial made with corn syrup.
I told him, that's not what I meant. A gin Rickey should be tart, not sweet; please re-make the drink with lime juice and not juice cordial. He got a little indignant and said that, "Every bartender, uses this [Rose's] for lime juice."
I've not had this problem elsewhere, so I'm wondering, do any other bartenders think this way. If so, how should customers avoid this confusion?
I recently started working at a bar that is quite lax in style compared to where I have worked in the past. Example: they don't even have a stirring spoon for cocktails like manhattans or martinis, they just use a straw. Anyways, last night someone ordered a gimlet and I used fresh lime juice because I've always done it that way. The owner scolded me and rudely told me to remake it saying that I should've used Roses. I've never worked at a bar that even carried Roses, we've always prepped our own juice at the beginning of the shift. What are your opinions on the matter?
Open to extras on your end, it'll take a lot for me to come off this baby
Hi. I've been doing the baking soda almost every day and ACV rinse once a week for about a month now. Hair feels great but it smells like hair and a bit of baking soda. My local grocery store has rose water and lime juice in little plastic bottles and I thought maybe I should try rinsing my hair with some kind of mixture so that it smells better.
However, the health of my hair/scalp comes before how it smells, so I'd like to know if there is anything about rose water/lime juice that could potentially damage my hair/scalp.
Thank you
