A list of puns related to "Red Queen (Through the Looking Glass)"
Because she got angry at the Red Queen for defending herself when everybody was making fun of her. So apparently people are allowed to make fun of her and the Queen doesn't have the right to defend herself
HOO BOY. I thought I was gonna be doing this with All Too Well Short Film first, but, I'm still digesting it. Instead I got slapped in the face with the absolute petty delight that is I Bet You Think About Me. If ya'll enjoy this, please let me know! It will certainly motivate me to break down ATW.
I have to start with the big through line here that keeps popping up and I haven't seen anyone discuss it in detail yet, and it's a common phrase "Painting the Roses Red." Everyone has brought up the roses and Alice in Wonderland imagery, but no one has talked about what that potentially means/represents on a deeper level.
Through the Looking-Glass Taylor bookends the fantasy narrative of the music video by entering/exiting through a mirror. This is a major them in the Alice sequel Through the Looking-Glass, as Alice finds she can enter this fantasy world through her mirror. Many things in this world are backwards or reversed, she can only read by holding the text up to a mirror, for example. Later we see mirroring come back into play when Taylor appears as the "Best Man" delivering a speech. Again she is mirroring the Groom, most starkly illustrated in that the groomsmen appear to sit beside the bride on Taylor's side, while the bridesmaids are seated next to the groom. Traditionally, or at least most traditional weddings I have attended, the groomsmen are seated beside the groom and likewise the bridesmaids beside the bride. We get more mirroring when Taylor takes the stage where the Bridal Party once sat: the curtain decor falls and now she is centerstage with her Red clad band. The shots of the groom alternate between him standing amongst the still/quiet guest all in white, to the red lit dance party of the guests in red. More on the red/white dichotomy, a

Has anyone who's actually seen this documentary have an opinion on it? It's on HULU and SHOWTIME. I thought Oliver Stone had an interesting and valid response to the Rolling Stone's criticism of it on Twitter and Instagram and would love to chat to someone who's actually seen the film about their opinions on the matter.
Also, a lot of people are confusing JFK Revisited: Through the Looking Glass (2021) with JFK (1991). The former was made very recently and uses documents which were not available until recent years. In other words, new evidence. It seems pretty clear that the Warren Commissions version of what happened is the result of corruption.
Just from a documentary perspective, it was entertaining. Didn't feel boring like documentary's can usually be, especially some Oliver Stone ones. It seemed much more factual than his fictional film on the matter and I thought presented a compelling, data-based case.
I also feel like I finally understood how the US changed forever that day and how that sentiment is not as much of an exaggeration as I previously thought.
I'm homebrewing an adaptation of the feywild, and I've decided to make the courts based loosely on Lewis Carrol's Alice Through the Looking Glass
In place of Titania I will have The White Queen who sometimes experiences time backwards, is obsessed with sunlight, and often investigates their realm through the eyes of sheep.
The Queen of air and Darkness of the Gloaming court is replaced with the Red Queen, who resides in a perpetual state of downward momentum, has an affinity for roses and etiquette, and will pluck the thorn shaped traumas from people's hearts as payment for a favour.
As for other archfey, I considered having Oberon being "the once white king" within the autumn court, guarded by a lion and a unicorn, while the twins Elias and Siobhan Alastai of the coral court could easily be both Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, as well as the walrus and the carpenter and a pair of bishops all in one.
The prince of frost in the winter court could be the red knight, and the Lord Oran the White knight, but I'm a little less certain of how well these roles might suit them or how they might stand out as entities in their own right.
I'm also rather unsure whether to lean in more heavily towards the Alice references, or the Chess ones. Any thoughts?
(Note, please don't advise anything regarding the jabberwocky, it already has a role in my game which cannot be shuffled about, same goes for anything else in that poem.)
I probably lean more on the bad connotation associated with conspiracy theory, (moronic thought and impulsive belief) but I do always find it interesting whenever someone asks βAre we being lied to?β or βWould higher ups do drastic things out of personal gain?β
As far as Bill goes, itβs always been a real treat, some truly funny shit to hear him talk about conspiracy theory. He presents what he buys into in a hilarious way, while also making it clear how easily he can be swayed and also that he doesnβt fully know what heβs talking about most of the time. Itβs about as honest a take you can get from a curious person who is open to the possibility that things arenβt all what they seem and that is strangely enough a smart thing you can do as a person, skepticism within reason.
I do think he tends to go against the grain for most things because he realizes just how fucking funny that is, to say things on the opposite end of the spectrum, something so polar to what people widely accept as truth that opposing whatever that might be makes for a great way to bait others to react negatively towards his βviewsβ. In some cases heβs fucking around, but others he takes a more interesting real view that when heβs presenting, itβs done in a direct way that leaves himself open to criticism, but he fully welcomes it.
One of the βtropesβ Iβve always loved seeing in his conspiracy theory discussions, be it on the podcast, in interviews, on his specials was talking about the JFK assassination (though I donβt recall him talking about that in a special). He hams it up to make a point sometimes or to get a laugh, but it also seems like he really buys into the fact that what was initially reported was nonsense and just lies to cover up a professional plot that no one has been able to gain significant traction with, at least not compared to what was officially released.
This Oliver Stone documentary (you can laugh it up if you just find his work to be bull, I understand that) he made that was released on Hulu not too long ago, is excellent. Itβs entertaining to say the least and unnerving and enlightening at the most. With every conspiracy theory angle there is always going to be a bias, people who look at the facts and see them however they wish to support a flimsy ideology, but what I like about this documentary is that there isnβt really much in the way of conjecture aside from how the new and recently declassified documents are being presented. There are of course intervie

I am on a fairly late-in-life JFK trip (for a healthily conspiratorial-minded person like myself) and just recently read Kerry Thornley's unpublished and poisoned-by-paranoia 'Confession To Assassinate JFK' Sauce: http://sondralondon.com/tales/confess/index.htm
I don't even know what to think or believe anymore. What's everyone else's take on this incredibly well-made and informative documentary?
(Don't accuse me of fedposting I didn't even know what that was until stupidpol accused me of that)
Also, who is the main antagonist in the book?
Saw that dream theater is doing a tour and I donβt think I can afford to miss them this time around. Went back to listen to these bangers and in my opinion this is some of the best production on a dream theater album and some of Petrucciβs best work. Distance over time might have better production but the self titled was 2013.
Doubt these will be on their set list, but I just wanted to share some love for these riffs on these songs and one of the best solos on behind the veil.
can we please talk about how horrible of a person brenda is???? i mean jesus christ she had no hesitation choosing cash over a human life what the fuck is wrong with her! and then she started complaining and asking where her money was like really???? that's what you're thinking about right now?!?! your son is missing and your whole family including yourself are being held hostage by someone you just saw murder someone and you're thinking about fucking money??? oh my god I hate her so much.
