[Animated Series] Recess: The Complete Series (Mixed TV-Rips) {1997} [~11gb]

"Recess" is an American animated series created by Paul Germain and Joe Ansolabehere (credited as "Paul and Joe") and produced by Walt Disney Television Animation, with animation done by Grimsaem, Plus One Animation, Sunwoo Animation, and Toon City. The series focuses on six elementary school students and their interaction with other classmates and teachers. The title refers to the recess period during the daily schedule, in the North American tradition of educational schooling, when students are not in lessons and are outside in the schoolyard. During recess, the children form their own society, complete with government and a class structure, set against the backdrop of a regular school.

Recess premiered on ABC on August 31, 1997, as part of the One Saturday Morning block (later known as ABC Kids). Beginning on September 11, 1999, it also began airing on UPN as part of its block, Disney's One Too. The series ended on November 5, 2001, with 127 episodes and six seasons in total. The success and lasting appeal of the series saw it being syndicated to numerous channels, including ABC's sister channels Toon Disney, which later became Disney XD, and Disney Channel.

In 2001, Walt Disney Pictures released a theatrical film based on the series, Recess: School's Out. It was followed by a direct-to-video second film entitled Recess Christmas: Miracle on Third Street that same year. In 2003, two more direct-to-video films were released: Recess: Taking the Fifth Grade and Recess: All Growed Down.

PLOT: Recess portrays the lives of six fourth gradersβ€”popular and confident Theodore Jasper "T.J." Detweiler (Ross Malinger, Andrew Lawrence), athletic Vince LaSalle (Rickey D'Shon Collins), tough girl Ashley Spinelli (Pamela Segall Adlon), gentle giant Mikey Blumberg (Jason Davis), genius Gretchen Grundler (Ashley Johnson), and shy new kid Gus Griswald (Courtland Mead)β€”as they go about their daily lives in a highly clichΓ©d school environment at Third Street Elementary School, where students have set up a microcosm of traditional human society complete with its own government, class system, and set of unwritten laws. They are ruled by a monarch, a sixth grader named King Bob, who has various enforcers to make sure his decrees are carried out. The society has a long list of rigid values and social norms that imposes a high expectation of conformity upon all the students.

Recess is illustrated to be a symbol of freedomβ€”a time when children can express themselves and d

I love British TV series but it took me en embarrassing long time and subtitles to figure out that they don't call older woman" Mom " and the word was Ma'am all along.

English isn't my native language (not even my second language). But I do love to watch british series in english and if available with subtitles(not often the case somehow). Imagine my confusion when a unrelated looking 30 year old calls the older women character Mom. Because it didn't happen to often on my viewings (maybe Ma'am isn't that common) I was confused but I put it always aside as me being not attentive enough. Only with the magic of subtitles was I able to understand how much of an moron I was.

If there was one TV series you could watch from the start again...

So my brother tonight is sitting down to watch Star Wars IV with his son for the first time and we were talking about shows that we wish we could see again for the first time.

So I ask you, what is the one TV series you wish you could rewatch but with fresh eyes for the first time?

Something similar to Peaky Blinders, Hannibal or Breaking Bad would be ideal.

What movie do you think would have been better suited as a TV Series?

I don't know if this question has been asked before but I will ask it anyway. What movie do you think would have been better suited as a TV Series?

Some films try to cram wayyyyy too much into too little and feel overstuffed as a result, personally, I think the recent Matt Damon film Stillwater would have been better as a crime miniseries since there was just too much put into the film it felt overstuffed and questions were left unanswered

What films would you say?

I feel like the Witcher series is the bar for fantasy TV series for now

We just finished the second season and I feel like the second season is just as good if not better than the first season. I've read the books up to where they're at in the show. There's a lot of changes, especially in the second season, mainly expanding and adding characters (the broad strokes are still pretty similar), but I think overall they're more positive than negative. What does everyone else think?

Hawkeye the TV series made my deaf sister happy.

I have a 13 year old Deaf sister. She's been Deaf all her life. We watch a lot of movies together. It's one of the things she can actually enjoy doing with other people. We've seen all the Marvel movies and series and she's watched them too. Anyway. When she saw Hawkeye was hearing impaired she beamed with a smile because she felt he was like her now. I too love how the show handles deaf and hearing impaired characters. It really gives representation to the deaf and hearing impaired people in the super hero world.

Just wanted to share as this was something that just made me smile.

Interview with Brandon Sanderson on the Amazon TV series - about fan criticism

Interesting points from Bradon: https://youtu.be/Dnbmku3lFmg?t=431

For example, LotR movies were hated so much for the changes they made, the casting choices, removal or Tom from Fellowship of the ring, etc. But now we don't remember it.

That said, criticism is good when it's constructive :) If you like or don't like the show, share it, but don't hate others for liking or disliking it :)
