A list of puns related to "Disney Television Animation"
Hey guys,
I'm looking for a tv show. One of the main characters is African American young man with a light blue baseball cap, a red hoodie, a white t-shirt and jeans. Its very likely he's also wearing a gold chain. There might be an asian girl as well in the tv show.
TL;DR
Disney named Loki's Time-Variant Authority to cover up the Anti-LGBT+ actions of its sister company, Disney Television Authority. jk, that's just what it was called in the comics but still a lot of interesting stuff about LGBT+ right controversies within Disney.
Background:
So after watching the finale for Loki, I was reflecting on the show and thinking about some of the themes and creative decisions that the authors made. One decision that kept bothering me though was why name the authoritarian, cult-like DMV after one of Disney's foundational branches? Walt Disney Television Animation or TVA as they call themselves is a longstanding branch of Disney's cooperate tree. They produced several hit TV shows including Phineas and Ferb, Gravity Falls, Duck Tales, and more. so it seemed incredibly unlikely that no one at Marvel--no writers, no producers, no managers, no executives--would see Loki's villainous TVA, and think, 'oh you mean our sister branch over there'?
After thinking it over a couple of times, I realized that such a dominant show, meant to introduce the entire Marvel fanbase to the new Thanos level threat would be perfect for stealing search terms away from Disney TVA's Anti-LGBT+ scandals.
Evidence:
Disney TVA has been accused, several times might I add, of shutting down LGBT+ characters and scenes because they would lose money from more conservative countries like China and Russia. These claims have originated from within the company including the creator of gravity falls, Alex Hirsch who roasted Disney on Twitter.

Not only that but he also wished to feature LGBT+ representation in Gravity Falls but it was strictly forbidden by Disney's executives:

Though this controversy makes a little more sense when put into perspective with Disney's backlash in 2020 from the short film they released called 'Out'. This film was released in reaction to pride month of 2020, but was almost banned by Russia because it didn't conform to 'family values':
