A list of puns related to "Professional audio"
I havenβt edited any videos for years and I was never that good at it but one thing that used to bug me is how audio is done.
Say if I wanted to produce a five minute video of me talking using a mid tier go pro what would I need. Ideally Id want the audio clear enough so I could add backing music and sound FX in the edit.
Would I record the sound separately with another device and line it up to the video in the edit? Also, is a lack of background noise achieved through good sound equipment or is it taken out in the edit? I.e if you were in an acoustically sound room with minimal background noise could you rely on your audio hardware to just pick up your voice consistently without further editing?
If you could append any answers with links to software or audio recording devices etc that would be great.

I just watched this video and it was very insightful, even though I am not a music producer. I assume most people already know some of this unconsciously, but it's good to give it a conscious thought.
Rick Beato - Audiophile or Audio-fool?
TL;DW: as good as you may hear things right at this moment, your hearing will diminish as you age (and more so if you are not careful about ear protection). What makes music great is not simply how many frequencies it contains, but how well you can mix the frequencies that you hear. And that comes with experience and practice, not the most expensive or most "cool" equipment.
Descriptive Audio has a narrator that will tell you what is happening on screen. My wife is blind and I love this feature because she can obviously enjoy the movie, But it also keeps you informed of who the characters are in case you forget, what they're doing and where they are. It's also really good if you have family members or friends who constantly ask you questions during a movie when all you're doing is trying to watch. You literally have on hand a wingman who will describe the scene that these people have questions about.
Think of it as an upleveled subtitles tip.
Looking for a used professional-level audio recorder preferably under $500. Recorder recommendations? The age of the recorder does not matter.
Edit: I found a MixPre 3 I for $430 and went with that. Thank you all for your help!

We sneak away to the rooftop at the company holiday party... I'm super shy and giggly as you give me your jacket, caress my fingers, and give me a Christmas present... Surprise first kiss at the end... I've been wanting to explore you, too... listen here
Hi, my name is Lukas and I am an audio engineer/producer looking to get some experience working on games. Video games have been a passion all my life, and I even spent some time taking classes in college to learn more while studying to become an audio engineer.
I want to combine my two passions into one, anyone out there need someone to do sound design/scoring? Not neccesarily looking for a high paying gig, I am more so looking for experience and to hopefully work on something I can get passionate about.
Let me know!

(Don't be fooled by the genre of music on my portfolio, I've recorded mostly pop but am by no means limited to that genre)
