A list of puns related to "Playing time (cricket)"
Iβm still baffled that owais shah managed to play for England for as long as he did. I know he was probably better than 99 percent of the population because you still need to be seriously good to even get to first class cricket but god damn his numbers are incredibly mediocre for someone who managed to play 71 odiβs and 6 tests.

Tl;dr at the bottom. If you just wanna read the important funny bits, it's in italics
Intro
Firstly, thanks to everyone who contributed, whether by getting a laugh out of my stupidity or by actually helping- it's all good. Some of you were actually very helpful and I tried to read as much as possible. Also, I did tell them of my limited abilities beforehand, I did not lie to them. The dad coached cricket in my secondary school and although I mentioned I played under him in Form 1 one of the first times we 're-met' I don't think he remembered me at all. However, I suspect this convo may have had a factor in me being asked to fill in the first place. but to the people who said come clean, you're right, and I did as soon as I got the call. Also, thanks for the gold.
Story
So my two friends and I went. (I called my dad to tell about it and have a good laugh and he came later as well).
We get there, we're fielding. There's seven players on the field. We three join in immediately. About 5 players in the correct green, one grandpa in white and one guy in sky blue. So overall, our mismatched greens still looked green.
The fielding goes ok, certain things come back to me, while other things don't. I'm relatively fit, so I'm running, took a catch and I remembered that you need to back up a bowler and I stop overthrows several times. I thought catching the ball would be the hard part- it stings and it's so easy to catch it wrong and damage your fingers, But I pocketed a catch.
But I forgot about the rotation. Every time they change ends, you have to change position. And even in that over when it switches from a left-hander to right-hander you have to move when the guy shouts "rotate". Well I screw this up entirely. I keep forgetting where I was and how I'm supposed to rotate. After a while, they stop telling me and I just kinda guess where would be a good spot. (The spots don't change much, but it's an important enough difference.) I just kinda pretend to change spots and blend in. So at this point I realize my SO is in the stands (she stayed home to stay with her sick dad for a bit). I get a bright idea.
*I'll grab a water and keep it outside the ropes to mark my spot. She's looking at me so I signal for her I want some water. She smiles and waves. Damn. So I do the same signal. She

At some point we have all donned the whites and/or turned our arms over for a couple of overs and that got me thinking, what are some of your favourite moments from games that you have been involved in?
They could be something funny, something weird, your biggest fail/your biggest achievement, a character you played with, a particular park you played at or anything else cricket related.
For example, I remember a well known football commentator turning up at our training in his whites to help out. I also remember playing at a park that was at such a high angle that if you hit the ball to one side, it would run uncontrollably down the hill for four. There was also a time when whilst keeping wicket, I missed a ball and it hit me above the pad, making my thigh swell up like a second knee.
What are some of your favourite moments?
Firstly, sorry for the sh**post community and mods. This my alt but I'm usually a mod and I'm so sorry to ruin the sub like this. But I hope the community spirit can kick in be helpful.
Anyways, it's 25 over game. Fifth game of the season, top of league. My SO's family runs a local club. They're a huge cricket family. I've played cricket as teen in secondary school and only hard ball up to age 14 maybe. I simply wasn't good enough. Tried to be an opening batsman and bowler. Should I just go and wicketkeep? (Never done it before though).
Some food poisoning hit this morning and nearly half their team wiped out. I was talking big and said I could play but now they ask me if I could bat and field. Her dad is pretty short but I'm even shorter so I would honestly love to prove my manliness so to speak (Sigh, why are men such idiots?). Just kidding, I'm the only idiot here. Her entire family and extended family will be there.
Sigh, I do not even think I could find long trousers, let alone a green polo. I hate green.
But in all seriousness though, can you all link some YouTube videos or give insightful tips?
Any hints, tips? What piece of equipment could you clubbers not be without?
With Cricket being free to air on TV for the first time since 2005, how many of you are planning to watch the sport (such as the test series in India)? Moreover, how popular is Cricket's status in the UK right now? Do you see this new change (cricket being aired for free) further popularizing the sport among the younger generation?

I decided when I started my first run over a year ago I wanted the "real" Fallout experience, and this first run through the game would be all survival. My Steam run time is 419 hours of play, with my save file recording a time of 12D 5H and 16m (293 hours). 419 Minus 293 = 126 hours lost due to non-save (mostly from dying). This was by no means a speed run, I truly tried to do everything possible that I could before beating the final story quest. It was a once in a lifetime play through; you can't play a game for the first time twice but if your thinking about doing a full survival run, I'd like to share my thoughts about it.
-A lot of your time is spent walking from point A to point B. I spent an obscene amount of time walking around in this game. This is basically the crux of what makes the early part of this game exciting, but the later parts of the game boring.
-It's exciting because early on you have to make you way through the ruins of Boston, with no idea what is around the next corner in a highly lethal environment. Ducking into an abandoned building to avoid a patrol headed your way; crouching and hoping they walk right by without noticing. Moving through the city by running from piece of cover to piece of cover. Waking up on a dirty mattress in South Boston after getting shot, dehydrated and with an infection, and you still have a ways to go to get to the safety of a settlement. Getting into a firefight where your objective isn't to win, but find a way to escape. It was very easy for me to die in almost any fight up until I hit the mid-60s low-70s Level range. After that deaths are still likely, but only really from the tougher enemies. Retreating from areas and fights was common. Not having played the game I simply had no idea what I was walking into; I didn't know what was in front of me, but I did know what was behind me.
-After you hit levels in the 90s it gets tough for the enemies to kill you. Not because you can take a lot of hits (you can still die quickly from the right attacks) but because you do so much damage. It gets boring late game because there are basically no enemies and you know every environment. I could find about a dozen or so places where enemies would always spawn 100% of the time I would show up, but for the most part the Commonwealth was just empty. A lot of the late game is just you ambling around slowly in power armor through empty streets. Y

999] Bermuda vs Vanatau
I live in the UK, and for a few months my cousin (12 years old) has been living with my abu and ami. He stayed with my wife and I for a few days last week. As a responsible older brother, i felt bad that he couldn't get the chance to go out and play much, so I took him to play a little cricket.
And WOOW!!! I was surprised how good he was. at 12 years of age, with no proper training, he was hitting proper cover drives of off me, I am 28!!
I spoke to my khala about possibly enlisting him in a cricket academy here or when he goes back to pakistan and she outright refused. But I honestly feel like he should be given the opportunity to do what he enjoys!
Hi, I been a lurker on here for a while, got addicted to cricket last summer ever since I been watching cricket nonstop. As an American its been hard finding the cricket material, such as cricket bats, and pads, but I got the equipment.
A week ago I saw a fb post for a cricket club in my college, so I got exited to play some cricket. I had an assumption it was going to be a bonding experience with my fellow cricket lovers, but it turned out I was singled out, no one would talk to me, people talking about my amateur cricket skills behind my talk. Maybe it was the demographics that singled me out. I was basically the only American, the rest of them were all either indian or pakistani.
Maybe this is why cricket is not growing in the States, because the game is not inclusive at all. :(
It seems to me that all New Zealand had to do to be not liked by cricket fans all over the world was to become the no. 1 ranked test team in the world.
