A list of puns related to "Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore"
What are your favorite backcountry campsites in Pictured Rocks? And are the backcountry sites at Mosquito River or the ones at Chapel Beach better? I have reservations at both for the same night and just deciding which to keep. Thanks in advance.
Heading up to the U.P. to do some camping next week and managed to snag an open spot for Pictured Rocks next week. The permit mentions checking in.
Where would I go about doing this? The only ranger station I can recall is near Munising Falls. I plan on approaching from the west side and would hate to drive all the way over there.
I'll be up there in September, would love to kayak through the rock arches along the water. Are there any outfitters up there that people have good experiences with? Are there outfitters that let you rent a kayak close to the rock formations and you can go out yourself at your own leisure, or are they all primarily guide led tours?
And what features of the Lakeshore should I definitely hit? Lover's Leap looks obvious, how close are the main signature shore formations are they to each other?
Any info would be appreciated!
