A list of puns related to "Old English Bulldog"
TLTR at the bottom.
As the title describes I have the most handsome German Shepherd x English Bulldog boy and his name is Buddy, Buddy was a a present from my parents after I moved into my own place and told them I was thinking about adopting a dog.
Obviously they were one ahead of me and gifted me my best friend that I will do anything for. Buddy will be turning 2 in November.
Unfortunately for Buddy he has Epilepsy...so that means he also gets seizures, and honestly I try and handle it as best as can BUT IT JUST BREAKS MY FUCKING HEART EVERY TIME he has an seizure. This all started at around 9 months in age. Took him to the vet and they diagnosed him with Epilepsy after a blood test came back all good. He was fine for a while, but then it got worse again, where he can have up to 10 seizures a day.
I took him to a specialist and that's when they did a whole range of tests and came to the same conclusion that he has Epilepsy. As to what triggers the epilepsy that is still unknown and I was told, that there is no known cause it can be a very wide range of things. They adjusted his medicine and things were good for a while again
For now Buddy is on 7x30mg Sedebarb(phenobarbitone) twice daily on a 12 hour schedule. Every morning at 7 and then in the evening again at 7. With that he is also on Potassium Bromide 5 and half millilitres once a day.
For the past 4 months everything was going great after our visit at the specialist his seizures were down to once a month, but the last 3 days Buddy has had consecutive seizures once again. I know what the next steps are as this exact scenario was discussed with the specialist on our last visit. He will have to be put on other medication to see if that will help
I just want to know from the good people of Reddit if someone has experienced the same with their best pal? Maybe you tried a certain product (cbd oils/pills) that actually made a difference? Any advice will also be appreciated. I really really hate seeing my best friend like this and feeling so helpless when he has a seizure.
I apologize for any mistakes, I am typing this on mobile and also if it is a bit long.
TLTR Buddy is a 2 year old german shepherd x english bulldog that has Epilepsy. He is currently on medication that has helped for a while, but seems to losing it's effectiveness. He is going to be switched to another medication in the hopes that it will help. I am just asking if someone on this subreddit has the same situation and

To give a little background info / Reason for my question (WARNING, rant incomming) :
My girlfriend and I decided that we wanted a dog a couple of years ago and weβre both people who likes to do a lot of research before making bigger decisions, after a bunch of research We found that not only did We love The english bulldog for it looks and how it generally acts, but it was Also a dog that fit our lifestyle perfectly. With this In mind We set out to find a breeder that was reputable and fit with what We were looking for in a bulldog, problem was that The breeder We was set on wasnt gonna have Any puppies until a year later, We decided We were willing to wait. Weβve since Been out to meet The breeder, her dogs and fell even more In love, recently (this is around a year after we first made contact with her) we wrote her an e-mail to hear how everything was going and to hear if there was Any news regarding puppies. Sadly we god The message that momma dog had been inseminated but didnt get pregnant, so We would have to wait another year for a chance at one of her puppies.
As We had now Been waiting to become dog parents for allmost three years and have Been Ready for allmost just as long, We decided on searching elsewhere and to expand our search to other races. During this We ended up finding a breeder that recently had a litter of 11 old english bulldogs puppies and still had 3 left, after a ton of texting and phonecalls We (my girlfriend and i + The breeder) have decided that We Will come by this saturday to meet The puppies and take one home if all goes to plan, as The puppies turns 8 weeks friday.
So to try and tie all of this together: We have for a LONG time Been planning on getting an english bulldog and for that Reason all of our research have Been focused on Them, but now We end up getting an old english bulldog instead and Any info iβve been able to find mainly focuses on physical differences, so i was hoping a post here could help me/us prepare for our new puppy.
TLDR: english bulldog was The original plan for girlfriend and i, so they were original research focus, now Weβre getting an old english bulldog instead, wants to know differences to be better prepared.
Any help appreciated !
Ps. I can post a picture of The little lady that stole our hearts if anyone wants to see her !
Please help!! All of a sudden my boy dog is peeing in his water bowl!! Every time I put water he pees in it. Why is this happening what can I do to stop it? We have a female english bulldog who is about 9 months too. Any advice on what I can do?
Who knew our girl would love to swim so much? We were walking by a reservoir and She just hopped in and started swimming away. She was so happy. Iβd love to take her back but would be more comfortable if she had a life jacket.
Thanks!!
My wife and I have always had a dog as a pet for the past 30 years. We've always got them very young. Our gift to ourselves, an english bulldog, died at 20 months old Feb. 2020. Only 18 months we had him but he grabbed our hearts more than any other dog we had had. We knew we couldn't afford another purebred but were in love with the bulldog personality. Out of the blue I looked in to adoptions and there was a dog up for adoption labeled as an english bulldog and american bulldog. He had those bulldog eyes we'd fell in love with. We adopted him in July 2020. After feeding and caring for him he got out of his scrawny unhealthy look and looks to us to be an olde english bulldog.
Anyway, the previous owner said he was born in Oct 2017 so he wasn't quite 3. They said he didn't like men and would be best for an elderly couple. When we picked him up he seemed pleasant and had no issues with me or my 2 sons. He was great in the car home. When we got home he followed me to our back bedroom and laid near the foot of the bed. He stayed in that spot for nearly 2 days. We brought his food and water in to the bedroom so he wouldn't starve. After a few days, my wife got some treats and coaxed him out of the bedroom in to the living room (our house is small). Since then he has stayed by her side no matter where she goes even if it's to go to the restroom. The only time he doesn't follow her is when she is cooking in the kitchen and he comes back to the bedroom and lays in that spot. If she leaves the house he will go to lay in that spot even if the rest of the family is still here and out in the living room. Once he had got comfortable being in the living room he still would not go to the kitchen where his food and water was UNLESS my wife went in to the kitchen. We had to keep his food and water in the living room for a few months. We moved them half way after a couple months and he caught on but still will not go all the way in to the kitchen unless at least someone is in there.
This is where it gets bad. After about 3 months we decided we'd let him sleep in the bed with us like our dogs have always done. For 2 months there were no problems with this. After the 2 months, I rolled over and lifted up my blankets to adjust them and he started growling then lunged at me. We banned him from the bed for a week or so then tried again. If the wife went to bed before me, he would not let me walk past the bed to leave the room or to even get in bed my
