For those that don't know, this gamebreaking bug, occurs when you loot Hundbeorht's Brooch while exploring before starting the relevant quest, and of course it prevents you from finishing the game.
In has actually been promptly fixed in a later patch, but unfortunately only 1.1.2 version of the game has been cracked yet which includes this and like 2-3 more game breaking bugs I m aware of. To make matters worse, it seems only Empress is actually working on these Denuvo games, and I doubt she ll do all that work to update the game while there is demand for a lot other hot titles. It's sad to see in what a sorry state the cracking scene is nowadays...
Anyway, on topic, has anyone actually came up with some solution? I have manage to find Hundtooth on my own, but he won't speak to me to handle him the brooch.
I then thought of Cheat Engine, to like remove the Brooch with it and then spawn it back to me hoping to trigger the quest. Done, but apparently the trigger here, unlike in other quests, is the action of looting it and not just having the item in your inventory, so nada.
PS: I have no idea when I actually looted the thing to load a previous save, and it's definitely like 40-50 hours ago so I d rather just wait for the Siege of Paris release, when/if it's ever cracked.
I got Valhalla as soon as it dropped and have been playing non-stop since it’s release. The absence of the ealdorman bug, although said to be fixed, has STILL not been fixed. This is unacceptable and needs to be hot fixed immediately. On the new update thread, this seems to be a common theme and will only result in me playing this game less and less. Did the update even work for anyone who was having the bug?
Prior to today’s patch update I was part way through this quest at the point where I have to find Ealdorman Hundbeorht. I saved yesterday and had a quest marker near Bolingbroc castle, but after loading the game to play today after installing the patch, the quest marker is no longer there. Also I don’t have the quest objective in the top left if the screen, and if I use Sunin to survey the area the game asks me to open the options menu and select an objective as though it thinks I don’t have one selected.
I’m aware that there were problems with this quest for people that had explored the castle before starting the quest that prevented it from triggering, however this isn’t the case for me.
I’ve since entered the castle and gone to the room that should trigger a cut scene, but nothing happens. If I pick up the brooch it just adds it to my inventory and the quest still tells me to find Ealdorman Hundbeort.
Has anyone else experience this issue?
Coming here for moral support since this is now the second bug I’ve encountered that is preventing me from doing major quest lines. First the Lost Cauldron bug that has yet to be fixed, and now this one.
Has anyone else not been able to hand the Ealdorman’s brooch to Hunwald and progress? Now I’m just still wandering aimlessly around the map and I’m too nervous to go into any area and collect anything lest I set off another bug. I already explored the castle prior to this quest and picked up the brooch (which shouldn’t have been there obviously) and now I can’t even play the main storyline. I have 100+ hours invested in this game and loading a previous save would get rid of a full questline.
Ubisoft has to learn that people might explore areas of the map before doing the story and if they shouldn’t then... don’t let us go there??????
Anyone had any luck with the bug on this quest?
I see a lot on picking up the broach, but I’m currently stuck on “discover where the sewers lead”. The objective icon won’t show up anywhere, been through the whole sewer, I’ve even watched walkthrough’s to see where the exact next step is, been to the exact spot, nothing showing up. I gave up with it (stupidly should’ve loaded a previous save but didn’t) and carried on the game pledging to other regions. Now I’m at a point I can’t carry on..
It basically is preventing me from continuing the main story.
We’ve reached 100 days without a fix! Just getting the usual “we’re looking into it blah, blah, blah” answer.
Will there be a hotfix soon? There are many upset customers who would like an answer.

“Find and speak to Ealdorman Hundbeorht” just lead to nothing after finding him in the dungeon of the castle. I want to complete the story before I do all the world events and quests but here I am waiting for a single acknowledgment from the devs that they’re aware of the bug....

This is basically a repost cause my original post is now 49 days old. There’s still been no fix for this bug and it is preventing A LOT of people from progressing through the game. This bug means you cannot complete the Lincolnshire alliance and I’m honestly shocked that there hasn’t been a fix yet.
This bug comes a little ways into the questline when you are required to find an item to bring back to the main ally. I had already collected said item while exploring and now it is impossible for me to move on - no dialogue or map location is triggered no matter what since I didn’t find the item during the actual quest.
This needs to be fixed in the next update.

...This has been going on for a while, Patiently waited for patch 2.10, installed this morning. resumed playing what is at this stage the last pledge I have to complete in the current map. and it is no different than prior to the update. in this particular case, I cannot activate the cut scene>! inside the hospice in Linconshire to speak to Hunwald, I just walk in, and there he is standing there, I cannot interact with him whatsoever...!< there does not seem to be any other bugs in the game, so far as I have encountered.
It claims in the patch notes that this issue is sorted, but playing in my game, it most definitely is not. I CANNOT for the life of me reach any support in Ubisoft customer care, where I have an account, and they keep putting me on to the FAQ page, suggesting the answer to my query is there (it's not.)
PS4 PRO, 125+ hours, and all other pledges complete, except for Linconshire, currently on level 348 skill-tree. at this stage Im filling in time by >!chasing Excalibour and trying to clear the land of Treasures. not only is this bug not letting me progress in the game, but i cannot update my settlement either!<.
I LOVE the game, I really do, but its rapidly loosing its appeal, who wants to play a game that will not let you progress? - this is really frustrating. It seems like Im not the only one out there with the same or similar problem?? can someone recommend a way to bring this to Ubisoft's attention?? what exactly can be done...??

They say she had to do intense therapy over feeling too inadequate to date him as a pastor because of her past and someone who listened to his book says he was constantly bringing up her past in a way that was a little too much for him to have a neutral view of it or not be holding it against her.

Others say it’s over the racy scene in the new Amazon Prime shows she’s acting in- Harlem. One scene involves her being propositioned to eat a man’s a$$ on screen. She declines him but they get as far as him being completely naked on the bed with his legs in the air waiting for her to do it with her head a few feet from his bare bum looking before she kicks him out. So of course the still shot of that is circulating and possibly giving a poor impression, even though she actually declines. And there are also some lesbian scenes in the show filmed by other actresses, which mayve been problematic to him owing to wanting to upkeep his image as pastor of a mega church. But honestly people were already questioning if they were separate because they hadnt been spotted together long before that

But the one thing I’m hearing that concerns me most is that there have also been accusations of subtle negging of her and things said to cut her down and make her insecure or lower her self esteem.
A lot of fonts cited the video clip below where he’s pinching her stomach and telling her she needs to work on it even though there’s nothing at all to pinch.
I’m mean if he wanted to say something about someone getting fit why not use himself as the reference rather than making her the butt of the joke. He should’ve grabbed his own gut and said “I’m trying to get this together. Hahaha”
