A list of puns related to "Chippenham, Wiltshire"
Join us for a new adventure! So far, I have three players. We have space for a couple more. This is an offline game, so you'll need to be in the Chippenham /North Wiltshire area.
The aim is to have fun embarking on an epic quest! We don't take it too seriously but would look to play bi-weekly. New players are welcome, please message if interested
Billy no mates here looking for some riding buddies.
/u/bloodycontrary visited Chippenham on the next stop of his tour, this time arriving by train:
>Itβs great to be back in Chippenham. We had a great response to our canvassing a couple of days ago, and itβs great to be able to speak here once more.
>I know youβve seen some Tory canvassers around here. They are of course the incumbents in this constituency, and obviously I want to change that.
>Frankly, the Tories have let us down. As have Labour. When those parties formed their ridiculous grand coalition, we all knew it would go very wrong and we would all get caught in the crossfire.
>They dragged us through four months of furious malaise, achieving nothing, hurting everyone, then they imploded. And yet none of them could admit it was a terrible idea in the first place.
>A truly awful exhibition.
>And the whole time, ten Liberal Democrat MPs led an opposition charge, and made sure the country still ran, still did something, and knew the truth of what was going on.
>Iβll speak later about our achievements in opposition. But ask yourself this question: if we served you that well in opposition, think of what could be achieved with a liberal Government.
>Remember to vote Lib Dem tomorrow!
/u/bloodycontrary joined supporters in Chippenham to knock on doors and talk to constituents about their concerns and hopes for the next term.
A large family was most concerned about job security, and asked what the Liberal Democrats would do:
>Well, as you know, we believe in a comprehensive safety net, so where you do lose a job, you have a soft landing and can start looking without fear. We also believe in strong employment rights; we do back TULRA, although of course there are tweaks we would make. However, most importantly we believe it is essential to have a strong connection to the single market. We make no bones about it, we are pro-EU, but for jobs security it is so important to remain in the single market at least. It helps us so much, and right now is the single biggest aspect of job security.
Minutes later, they were seen putting a Liberal Democrat rosette up in their front window.
A young couple was most concerned with transport. They commute to work in Cardiff and Reading, and often have to travel.
>I know how you feel! Well, we abolished the Severn Bridge tolls, which is obviously a big thing for one of you. And I understand you drive on your commutes. Chippenham is quite well connected to the railways, but obviously it could be better - and cheaper - to get around. A season ticket to Reading is quite pricey given itβs only 50 or so miles. The Liberal Democrats are committing to a huge overhaul of our transport structure. We want more high speed, more regular trains, more railway stations. We want to drag our transport infrastructure into the current century.
Next, a lifelong Tory voting elderly couple approached the team of campaigners to talk about their concerns - mostly about brexit.
>So you say you voted for brexit, but youβre increasingly concerned about whatβll happen if or when we leave? Well, no doubt. The incompetent Tories misled you, frankly, and it is disgraceful. Thereβs nothing shameful about supporting exiting the EU, but the Tories - and indeed a few other parties - made it their mission to smear everything about the EU, when in fact it has many upsides, and many of its downsides were outright lies.
>Hereβs what we want. We want the people to have a final vote, with all the options on the table. And weβll make it our mission to ensure those options are all debated fairly and openly so you, others who voted for brexit, and the many who didnβt, can make an informed choice.
The elderly couple seemed satisfi

Do any of you know the best places to find private lettings? The cost of going through an agent is prohibitively high. We're trying to find a bungalow preferably, as my fiancee is in a wheelchair, and we have my son who's 6 and a friend of ours who's going to live with us.
I know there are more risks inherent in renting privately - although I know that they are still supposed to use a deposit protection scheme etc.
This man served in the RAF on a barrage balloon unit during WWII. He was born and raised in Wakefield, Yorkshire in 1915. After the war he moved to London. He died in Chippenham, Wiltshire in 2000. He went by his middle name Leslie. I know it's a huge longshot but if someone knew him or knows any living relatives of his it would make my whole year. Thanks!
Hey there everyone! I'm finally aiming to replace all the local links in the masterpost with improved & updated ones, and there will be a link for each region for England. Will be working on other regions but for now, here is the new one for South West England:
The first 9 links are relevant to more than one area:
Victim Support - has services which covers all of the separate areas included in this post which can be found through the link
Bluebell - We provide support to help families manage their mental health and wellbeing during pregnancy and after birth - scroll down link for the specific areas covered.
Soundwell - We are the only specialist adult mental health music therapy charity in the UK. We use music to help people in the South West whose lives are seriously affected by mental illness. Alongside this we work with unpaid carers who are in need of support - Soundwell works in many key disadvantaged communities throughout North Somerset, Bath and NE Somerset, and Wiltshire
**Swan Advocacy - areas covered are Bath, various are
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
When I got home, they were still there.

This morning, my 4 year old daughter.
Daughter: I'm hungry
Me: nerves building, smile widening
Me: Hi hungry, I'm dad.
She had no idea what was going on but I finally did it.
Thank you all for listening.
There hasn't been a post all year!
You take away their little brooms
