A list of puns related to "Guthrum"
When Bjorn comes to take Torvie, Erlunder keeps Guthrum with him, he was not even his son so how did he do that?
So I'm only on episode 5 but I know in real life people say Alfred was a great king and guy. In the show he seems sort of like an asshole though. Was the shows depiction of him accurate ?. Also I know Guthrum eventually converts to Christianity but that's after losing the battle of Edington. In the show it seems Guthrum is interested in converting to Christianity early on before the Saxons push back. The show makes it looks like Guthrum will convert whether a battle is lost or not.
I feel like Guthrum should have been added in CK3 as an event that occurs in 871 where βGuthrumβ spawns somewhere in the north sea with no more than 2k troops and tries to take Wessex but if heβs defeated heβs Baptized, given the name βAethelstanβ and made a vassal of King Alfred.
After completing Kingdomβs End and rescuing Guthrumβs men, no new quest popped up and I have no means of continuing the story now.
The last section of Asgard is still there but its suggested power level is 350 which feels like an end-game quest. Do I have to do this before the next quest pops up? If this is a glitch I donβt want to waste time doing the last leg of Asgard just to have to re-do it.
Edit: I see now that this is not a new glitch⦠Well done Ubisoft, 273 days and this glitch is still not fixed.

Is ubbe's only living kid Ragnar?
I'm rewatching the show (at the end of s1) I think Guthrum is so interesting. I think he could use a lot more focus - do we get his point of view in the books?
I'm caught between sparing Guthrum or killing him. I read that sparing him gets you an extra quest to rescue him later w/ some decent rewards, same with Martin Gavinius. But does it have a major effect on story? Feel free to spoil if necessary...... thanks!
In S1E7, when Guthrum is in Alfredβs library after sacking Winchester, he is baffled by all the scrolls. Brida tells him everything Alfred learns about his enemies is written down. Guthrum replies, βItβs magic...this is words without sound, this is voices without people, Iβm going to learn this magic.β
As an English teacher, I think this is one of the best ways to frame what we do with written language. Stories, poetry, history, etc. we take for granted that we can read it all, but Guthrum is right: itβs magic, and itβs a skill that needs to be practiced. If I ever need to convince students why a English class is worthwhile, I know what clip Iβll show them.
So I just went to the blockade in the hamtunschire questline to dethrone aelfred and I free guthrums soldiers, we went to talk and then the quest completed by I got not quest to follow that one up. Is this supposed to happen, if so how do I progress further?
After the Dane chieftain Guthrum was defeated by Alfred the great he converted to christianity and continued to reign peacefully in East Anglia. Thats would be the same as changing to your attackerβs religion in a holy war. (Alfred was the defender tho)
Just finished season 1 finale (on my 1st rewatch) and during the battle scene after Uhtred broke through the shield wall, Guthrum says, βdid you see that? The priest said it, their God is with themβ but I canβt for the life of me remember which priest told him that? Can anyone enlighten me on that? I know he had a few conversations with the hostage priest, was it him? Or another one? Itβs gonna drive me nuts not remembering.
TITLE
The book is from the Saxon Stories series by Cornwell, by the way.
Edit: Just to clarify, he said that after being betrayed by Guthrum and while hiding in the marshes around Athelney.
wouldn't had been better if Torvi was the one getting killed by Hvitserk instead of Guthrum? Building up a character for 3 seasons (and also giving him a name of a famous viking; giving the idea that this kid is gonna be important in the future) to just kill him off in a battle before he got any kind of develop for shock value its just lazy writting; and we all know that Hirst keeps Torvi alive just because the actress is his daughter. Its frustrating and stupid; Guthrum could have became an interesting character if they at least tried a little (at the top of my head; he could have allie with any of Ragnar sons and they could even had some kind of Ragnar-Torstein friendship; idk about you but i miss this friendship moments in the show; everyone is very isolated lately). But hey, at least we have more Torvi right?
So I know Torvi isn't particularly errr...popular around here, but I thought that moment where Guthrum died and Torvi touches his face was really sad and moving. It made me think back to that scene where she was training him to fight, but couldn't stop giggling. :(
I know he converted to Christianity and became Γthelstan under Alfred, but do we know what happened to him after that? He is not mentioned in the show after converting, what about the books?
He is vitally important to the Great Heathen Army and becomes one of the rulers of england because of it. I remember him being born as a side characters child, but I can't remember who. But do you think they'll introduce him or what? He's too historically important to leave out
Do you guys think they will introduce Guthrum (Torvi and Jarl Borg's child)? This is likely the same Guthrum that lead some forces in the Great Heathen Army and it would be interesting to see how much they invest in that particular characters storyline.
I am assuming the Guthrum on the show is the same one who becomes Christian king of Danelaw in England--- and Alfred's godson?
I guess the hint was when Lagetha said he will "have a GREAT future"
How was the northern half of Northumbria still under English rule when separated by the Danelaw? Was all of Northumbria intended to be subjugated under Guthrum and the Danelaw? Was the Treaty of Wedmore even a thing?
The conquests of the Great Heathen Army were put to an end when Alfred united with his fellow Saxons and defeated the Vikings at the Battle of Edington. Afterwards, Guthrum was baptized by the Christian church, Alfred being his godfather, and the Treaty of Wedmore was completed. Most of Northumbria was put in subjugation under Guthrum, although the Northern half of Northumbria, which is considered current day Scotland, was never considered under Danelaw, but under English rule. Maps dating the Treaty of Wedmore show that the Danelaw did not encompass north Northumbria.
Any thoughts, references, or info on this?
I chose not to, but what happens if you do? Just curious.
From what I understood he got killed in battle. if he was a famous Viking I wonder why Hirst killed him off?
