A list of puns related to "Nonprofit organization laws by jurisdiction"
SCENARIO:
A. Here is the link to an organization called VSED Resources Northwest.
It is unclear whether they are
already a 501(c)(3)
or in the process of applying for their tax exempt status,
or are fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)(3).
B. At this link, https://vsedresources.com/who-we-are
They say this:
>Donations help us increase awareness of VSED and support individuals and their families as they navigate the end of life. A fiscal sponsorship by A Sacred Passing makes your donation tax-deductible.
QUESTIONS:
Is it safe to assume that they are fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)(3) called A Sacred Passing?
In that case, why doesn't "A Sacred Passing" show up on the IRS tax exempt search page?
Neither does VSED Resources, nor does VSED Resources Northwest.
clearly state their IRS tax exempt status, fiscal sponsorship status, etc.
on public facing websites, etc.?
Instead of spending hours searching online?
Does anyone know why it reads "These Terms and Conditions of Use shall be governed by the laws and subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Argentina" on the terms and conditions page on the TMTG website... under "Governing Law and Jurisdiction" ?
Hi r/nonprofit, New poster here.
So Iβve been elected to be director of competitions for a a local chapter of a 501(c)3 arts organization. We have organized a new competition this year, a little more ambitious than previous competitions. The nonprofit arts organization is 100% backing the event for this year β meaning no outside donors. However, if we are to run this competition every 2 years, we would need to find outside funding sources to keep it sustainable and growing.
First question is, am I currently able to pursue grants for βnonprofit organizations onlyβ to fund this competition?
And second question, if I want to eventually make this competition into a separate entity, how long does the 501(c)3 process typically take? A year or two?
Compete newbie here (and not particularly business-minded), so any info is appreciated.
Hello everyone, currently, it is a hard time for new recent grads to find jobs due to this pandemic. For international students, it's even worse. Once their grace period of 90 days is over, they can no longer legally remain in the United States and are left with no choice but to return to their home countries. However, there is a way for OPT students (who are in their first year of OPT) to maintain status and not lose unemployment days by volunteering for a nonprofit organization.
